Beginning of a Journey

"Well, if you have to get that close to some... thing to use it, it's not that good unless you are really quiet. And throwing a bladed weapon seems kinda silly." he says.

"Hm..." Reena glanced skyward as she considered this.
"Yeah. I guess that does make sense," she admitted with a nod after returning her gaze over to Wolf.

"Mmmm hmmm." Wolf says, "I'm kinda surprised you hadn't said anything earlier. I know that several people have kept their distance from me while we've been walking around. But they aren't panicking or anything."

"Yeah, I saw it earlier and just kept getting distracted from asking about it," Reena admitted, "Doesn't take much to derail my train of thought." She gave a sheepish grin.
"But maybe when we're in a less public place, you can take it out and show me." she suggested, "I don't get to see weaponry very much."

"Oh, well I guess I can if you really want to later." he replies, "I suppose there is no harm in it."

"It could make for a good pictuuure," Reena added, wiggling her phone back and forth in her paws and smiling broadly at him.

"Okay. We'll see later on." he says.

"Maybe on the train," Reena said, "We should get a small cabin to ride in. I figured it'd be good if we wanna take a nap or something."

He looks over at her.

"You mean we'll have our own private space in there for the trip?" he asks.

"Yeah. I mean, the trip is gonna be fffaaiiirrrly long-ish...?" Reena said, "I don't know how many hours, but it can be a lot nicer to just have a place to stretch out and chill, y'know?"

"Oh. I thought we'd be sharing space with everyone else in there." he says, "Like some big public sitting area."

"Yeah, they have cars like that, too," Reena replied, "I just didn't get seats there."

"Oh wow." Wolf says, "I'm interested to see what this will be like."

"Train rides are fun," Reena nodded, "It's just something different from the usual cars and buses. I find it more interesting than planes, too."

"Ah. I'll take your word for it." Wolf says.

He then turns his gaze skyward again.

"Gonna have to for now," Reena agreed.
She leaned back on the bench, slouching a bit and looking down the tracks. A glance at her phone showed that they still had a bit of a wait left before the train's arrival. The canine sighed softly, trying to think of ways to pass the time.

Wolf seems content to just let silence pass between them for the moment. He continues to gaze upward for several minutes, then he closes his eyes and just relaxes there on the bench.

After a while, Reena glanced over at Wolf. Seeing that he'd closed his eyes for now, she turned her attention to her phone. She browsed through a couple of things before finally settling on a game to play until the train arrived.

As Reena appeared willing to leave him be, Wolf continued to sit there quietly. Eventually he fell asleep there next to her, but he didn't really give any sign that he was sleeping as opposed to just sitting there with his eyes closed.

Reena was content to toy with her phone for a good fifteen minutes. After a while of Wolf not really moving, she looked at him for several moments, trying to judge whether he was sleeping or not. She couldn't really tell and didn't particularly want to wake him up if he was.
A smile played across her muzzle, though, and she switched her phone to a silent setting, then activated the camera. She turned the camera towards him and snapped a quick photo and, after reviewing it on her screen, settled back into her seat to play another game now.

Wolf manages to rest comfortably for the better part an hour there on the bench, only disturbed by the sound of trains coming and going. Each time one would come by he'd open his eyes and glance around without moving very much, to see if Reena was there and getting ready to move, then closing them again. He'd fall asleep again several minutes after each interruption, taking him almost to the time their actual train was going to arrive, which he also assumed Reena would wake him for.

Reena would look at the time with each approaching train. She was glad that playing her game made the time pass more quickly.
About ten minutes before the time their train was scheduled to arrive, Reena lowered her phone to the bench. She raised her arms above her head and stretched out her limbs, letting out a yawn as she did so. The Klee Kai looked over at her dozing wolf companion once she'd settled into her seat again.
"Hey, Wolf, you awake?" she asked him.

Wolf's eyes open slowly. He turns his head to glance towards Reena.

"Hmmm? What is it?" he asks her.

"The train's gonna arrive in a bit, sleepyhead," Reena replied, offering a small smile. "Figured I'd give you a chance to wake up before it gets here."

"Oh, of course." he says.

He looks away and leans back in his seat. Then he arches his body backwards as he stretches himself out a bit after sleeping. He relaxes and settles back into his seat.

"How soon is it supposed to get here?" he asks.
