Beginning of a Journey

Reena kept mostly quiet, content enough with her food and, on occasion, her phone for the time being. It didn't take too long for her to get through her first plate of food and she nudged the plate aside, then started working on the bowl of soup she'd gotten as well.
Around this time, she looked at Wolf again to take note of the progress he'd made. "Good stuff?" she asked after her first mouthful of soup.

"Can't complain." Wolf replies.

He seemed to be taking his time eating his food. He was only about halfway through his plate of food.

"Feelin' full yet?" she asked. A little grin played across the Klee Kai's muzzle. "Or just making it last so we can hang out longer?" she teased.

"Oh. I just don't feel like rushing through this meal." Wolf replies, glancing over at Reena, "But you do seem happy that I'm taking my time."

"Well, I don't mind if we get a little extra time to hang out here," she replied, "I'm probably just getting on another train from here."

Wolf nods slightly.

"Okay. Any idea where you're going to be heading to?" he asks.

"Not really," Reena replied, "Just gonna keep heading west. Eventually I'll end up back home."

Wolf nods to her.

"I think I'll probably head north from here for the time being." he says.

Reena nodded again. She was quiet for a few moments while she took another bite of food. Before too long, though, she tilted her head and looked at him again.
"So why north?" she asked.

"One direction seems as good as another." he replies, "I kind of prefer cooler temperatures too and I've heard that northern areas are cooler."

"Too fluffy to be down here in the summer, huh?" Reena teased after another spoonful of soup.

((No, I didn't forget she was eating soup, don't be silly.))

"I can handle it well enough, but it's not my preference." he replies.

"That counts," the Klee Kai said, wiggling her spoon at him for a moment. The spoon was promptly lowered back down into the bowl. "Maybe I'll go more north next time I cross the country," she added, "But I'll probably stick close to home for a little while after this trip to just kick back. It's been a few weeks since I was home just hangin' out."

Wolf nods to her.

"Sounds good." he says, "It's always nice to go home."

"Mmmhmm," Reena agreed. She chuckled a bit. "Hotel beds are usually great and all, but it's just about impossible to beat going home to a bed that's already got a me-shaped dip in the middle," the dog said.

Wolf nods in reply, but doesn't say anything else in response. He then turns his attention back to his food, which he'd seemingly forgotten about while they talked.

As the conversation hit a lull, Reena was also content to just focus on eating. It wasn't more than a couple of minutes before she finished her soup. With two dishes down, the dog excused herself before going back to the buffet and getting another plate. When she returned this time, she hadn't piled up nearly as much food as the first time and a third of the plate actually had a couple of dessert items as well. She slid back into the booth and started digging into this serving of food.

While Reena was away getting herself some more food, Wolf was finishing off his serving. Once she returned, he was sitting there drinking his water.

"You really hungry?" he asks her.

"Enough to make sure I get my money's worth!" joked the Klee Kai with a grin, "You about done yourself?"

"I'm considering the answer to that question myself." Wolf replies, "I could probably go for some more food, but I really don't want to overeat."

"Are you sure you don't want desseeerrrt?" Reena asked, wiggling one finger at the desserts on her plate. "This banana pudding looks awfully good!"

"I'll consider it, but I make no commitments one way or the other." Wolf replies, smiling back slightly.

"Suit yourseeelf," Reena teased as she returned her attention to eating. She also looked to her phone as the screen lit up and took a few moments to read over the words there before starting to tap out a response.

Wolf resumes drinking his water as Reena begins using her device again. After a little while he glances over towards the buffet table pondering whether he should have something else to eat now or not.

There wasn't too much food on Reena's plate this time and it wasn't too long before she finished her 'main course' and got to the desserts she had served herself. Always one with a sweet tooth, she was plenty eager to dig in to the sugar-filled treats. Granted, she had visibly slowed down the pace of her eating over the last several minutes, too, easily implying that she was likely getting full.

She spotted Wolf looking towards the buffet tables again and asked, "Gonna go get more?"
