Beginning of a Journey

This time, Reena drew back again and she quickly brought her paw around in almost a backhanding motion, once again aiming for the magazine in Wolf's paw.

Wolf meets her strike and the magazines smack together again. He draws back and waits to see what she'll do now.

Reena withdrew her magazine as well and grinned at Wolf. She put on a slightly more comical tone as she taunted, "Well, my nemesis, it looks like we are evenly matched so far!"
Her tail was starting to wag a bit behind her.
"But! What about this?!"
As she accentuated the final word of her sentence, the small dog gave another hop forward, her magazine raised up and promptly being brought down to try and bop Wolf on the head, though not very hard. It was a move that left her open to retaliation as well and she seemed plenty prepared to jump off to the side if he made a move towards her.

This time, Wolf brought up his free arm and moved it across in front of him with the intent of knocking Reena's arm aside so that her swing would miss.

The blow landed successfully, though Reena used the momentum from her arm being pushed away to continue into another swing now towards Wolf's side instead.
"Ho ho!" she laughed as she made her attempt.

Wolf swings his free arm down to again attempt to block Reena's arm and keep her from completing her swing.

Wolf knocked Reena's arm aside again, this time downward. But while her magazine-wielding arm was blocked, her other paw suddenly came up and forward to try and poke Wolf's side with one finger.

Wolf spots Reena's other arm move as he bats her other arm aside. He backs away from her to get out of her arm's reach.

Reena grinned at Wolf, moving back again.
"Oh ho, I almost had ya!" she teased him.

"Maybe, but you didn't get me." he replies.

"Not yet at least," Reena pointed out.
She held her magazine up in front of her again, looking like she was daring Wolf to make a move next.

Wolf moves towards Reena, performing a big overhead swing, aiming to bring his magazine down on the top of her head.

Now Reena almost mimicked Wolf's previous response. She raised up her left arm to swat his aside while also stepping over to her right. This put her a step closer to the rumbling washing machine. In the same gesture, her magazine-wielding paw made a quick swing towards Wolf's side again.

Wolf backs up a step again to get out of Reena's swing arc, then lowers his magazine in front of himself and thrusts forward with it towards Reena's midsection.

"Eep!"

Wolf's magazine made contact with the Klee Kai's middle and she let out a squeak of surprise. Even she knew it was an adorable noise that popped out of her muzzle. A giggle followed it and she made another backhanded swing at Wolf after.

"How dare!!" Reena protested through her giggles, "No one makes me squeal and lives to tell about it!"

Wolf pauses for a moment at Reena's reaction, and he thinks that perhaps he'd jabbed her too hard. But his worry about that disappeared when she started to giggle.

Still, the brief lapse makes him a little slower to react to her swing. He barely manages to bring his magazine back up to block.

Reena kept after him, stepping forward and drawing the magazine back.
"I will avenge myself!" she warned him as she started to make repeated swings at Wolf.

Wolf backs away from Reena at a matching pace to her advance, doing what he can to evade or block her swings. It's clear that he's shifted to a defensive posture at this point.

"All this for a poke?" he asks her.

His question made her pause for a moment. The Klee Kai then shrugged her shoulders and smiled.
"Nah. But it's something to do!" she replied.
She quickly continued her little assault, giggling as she went after her wolf companion again.

"Of course." he replies.

He begins countering her swings with his own. The sound of the magazines thumping together was heard repeatedly as she continues to chase him while he backs away.

Reena's form was terrible as she seemed to be attempting a poor imitation of fencing. But she was having fun for now, at least. As she continued to advance on Wolf, she would turn a bit, trying to get him to back into a corner.

Wolf continues to lead her around the room, keeping himself from getting boxed in as best he could. He began to swing a bit more forcefully, trying to knock Reena's magazine to one side or the other with each swing.

Reena noticed that Wolf was swinging harder and so, of course, she started to do the same. Her grip on the magazine in her paw tightened to keep it in her grasp as they continued to fight. The intensity and determination of her attacks were lessening now, though, as her arm grew tired and she wasn't chasing after Wolf as much anymore.

Wolf notices that her swings are becoming less forceful. He would then start to stab lightly at her on every third or fourth swing, immediately after their magazines would thump together between them.

The new pattern had Reena actually now being the one to back up a bit when he would thrust his magazine forward at her. She wasn't really following him anymore, going back to a somewhat stationary fight instead.
