Beginning of a Journey

"I don't know, everyone slips up somewhere," Reena pointed out, "There has to be a way for them to track you and maybe they can be found by backtracking to them."

"Maybe... I wouldn't even know where to begin." he admits.

"To be honest, neither do I," Reena admitted, "But it's worth it to try, right?"

"I guess, but what if they find out you're looking?" he asks.

"Hm..." Reena hesitated for several moments.
"I dunno. I'm always traveling, too," she replied, "Well, most of the time."

"So is that really something you'd want to risk?" he asks.

"Well, it bothers me more to not try and do anything to help you out," Reena replied.

"Well, you can't expect to fix every problem you come across." he replies.

"But I sure can try!" Reena pointed out, "Even if it just means dragging you along to travel with me for a bit."

He shakes his head slightly.

"I don't think I should linger with you any longer than necessary." he says, "And that time might be at an end tomorrow."

"I know," Reena replied, nodding a bit.
She took her a pillow and gave it a toss forward at him, not really aiming to hit him hard, but hitting him regardless.
"So let me spoil you already!" she insisted with a smile, "You are sleeping in a comfy bed tonight, so help me!"

He brings his paws together and catches Reena's pillow between his after it hits him.

"No, I don't think so." he replies, "I don't want to make tomorrow any tougher."

He offers her a sad smile.

Reena frowned.
"Well, you already have," she told him, laying her ears back slightly. "Can't make it much worse now that I know you're actually in some kinda trouble and I'll have no idea what happens to you once you leave tomorrow."

"I'm sorry... I... probably shouldn't have troubled you with all of this." he says.

He walks over to the bed and sets the three pillows he has down on it. He then turns away so that he can got and retrieve the two pillows Reena dropped a little while ago when they were 'fighting'.

"Well, I mean, I don't mind knowing," Reena explained, watching him move around the room, "But I wanna be able to do something about it, y'know?"

"Of course... I appreciate it." he says, as he looks over at her, "But I feel like my life is cursed."

He looks away as he crouches down to pick up the two pillows from the floor.

"The few people that have helped me in the past are gone..." he adds quietly.

Reena's brow furrowed and she glanced away. She wasn't really sure how to respond at this point. Either way, she found the situation more than a little frustrating.

Wolf stands and turns back to the bed. He moves closer and drops the two pillows down onto it. He then turns away and sits down on the foot of the bed, glancing off towards the wall quietly.

Reena looked back over once Wolf sat down on the bed. She glanced up at the ceiling briefly, then started to crawl across the bed on her paws and knees towards him. She slid her feet off the bed and lowered them down towards the floor as she sat down beside him on the edge of the bed.

"...Ever considered disguising yourself? Taking on a new identity?" she suggested more quietly. A little crooked smile spread across her muzzle. "I bet we could pass you off as my little brother if we tried."

"Maybe... but I don't know if that would matter." he says, after glancing towards her, "I'm not sure if they really 'know' me at all. Still, I get found every so often. I don't know how they do it either."

"Well, clearly they have enough on you to find you, then," Reena agreed, "But even if they're just going by a physical description, I bet they wouldn't be looking for a... hm..."
She leaned away from him to look him over a little better.
"Yeah, maybe a little fur dye in a few places and you could look like at least half a klee kai," she said, "We could just lighten up some fur on you. Ooh, or even just plain turn you white! You'd be amazed how much can be done to disguise you. Then we just say you're adopted, throw down a different name, get you caught up on how to use most of my tech..."
The little dog grinned a bit.
"I'd say it's got potential," she added, sitting back up normally again.

"Hmmm... maybe... but I don't really want to change myself." he says, "Feels like I'm giving up something important. I'm constantly running now... but I'm trying to be true to myself."

"But... how long do you just want to focus on running?" Reena asked as she furrowed her brow at him. She leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees.
"I mean, isn't there anything you want to be able to do without worrying? You know, actually going out and living?"

"I don't know..." he replies, "I have no idea what I'd ever do if I didn't have to look over my shoulder anymore... When I tried to, that peace was eventually all taken away... and I was back to running."

Reena frowned and fell silent for now. Her ears perked up after several moments and she looked at Wolf again.
"Ever consider faking your own death?" she asked.
It seemed there was no end to her trying to come up with ideas...
