Beginning of a Journey

Wolf tosses his clothing into the washer on top of Reena's, then he moves back from it so she can insert her money and select her settings for the wash.

Reena made quick, practiced work of this, too. She turned a couple of knobs and hit a button and water began to pour into the washing machine. She reached in among her laundry and also withdrew a small container of detergent. The Klee Kai poured some of the powder into the machine, then closed the lid.
"Okay, let's get another one going," she said, "The sooner we get done, the better!"
She moved her clothing to the top of the machine that was already going.
"Go ahead and put the last of your stuff in here and I'll match up whatever I've got that can go with it," she told him. In the meantime, she popped some coins into this machine and began to set it up as well.

Wolf puts the last few articles of clothing he had into the other washing machine and then steps aside for Reena again.

After a little more sorting through her laundry, much of which appeared to be smaller, more brightly-colored articles of clothing. She dropped in some, but not all of them, leaving certain things out that she didn't deem would be good to mix with what Wolf had already put in the machine. With everything set, she closed the lid and then stuffed her remaining clothes into her backpack.
"Aaand now we just have to wait for this stuff to finish," Reena sighed, leaning her weight against the washing machine. "Any ideas on how to pass the time?"

"I don't really..." he says, "But only one of us has to stay here to watch over our things. You could head back to our room for now."

"Pffft." Reena gave a dismissive wave of her paw at the idea.
"What, and leave you all alone? C'mon, what kinda host do you take me for?" she asked him, "I'm sure we'll find something to do."

"Of course." Wolf replies, "But if you wanted to get something, like one of your devices to pass the time, you could go and return."

"Yeah, maybe." She withdrew her phone from the pocket of her jeans.
"Though my phone, like, never leaves my side so I'm okay there." The dog looked at the screen as it lit up. "...Even though the battery is definitely getting low," she admitted.
She peered around the room for several moments before her eyes settled on the magazines. A playful grin crossed her muzzle and she glanced back at Wolf.
"Could always roll up those magazines and have a magazine fight," she suggested.

"Out here, where someone could stumble across us?" he asks.

Reena shrugged her shoulders.
"Sure, why not?" she replied, "It's not their problem what we do to pass time."

"It just might be... awkward if we were to be caught in the middle of that." he says, "We'd probably look rather silly."

"So?" she asked quickly, "What's wrong with looking silly?"

Wolf pauses to think about it.

"Hmmm... not much really, I suppose." he replies, "But are other people going to tolerate it and not be bothered by us doing stuff like that?"

"I guess so long as we don't get too loud or break anything," Reena figured.
She started to grin again.
"You're not just worried about getting hit with a rolled up magazine, are ya?" she teased.

"Not really." he replies, "I just don't like to cause trouble, and this feels like it might if we start swatting each other."

"Bah, you worry too much," Reena said.
She pushed herself away from the washing machine and stepped over to the table. She then picked up one of the magazines and started to roll it up in her paws. The other magazine was promptly picked up after and she held it out towards Wolf as she stepped back towards him.
"Gonna defend yourself or nah?" she asked.

"I guess I'd better." he replies, reaching out to take hold of the magazine she was holding out.

"Yeah, it really won't be as much fun if you just stand there while I whack you with this," Reena admitted, letting him take the magazine.
She adjusted her grip on hers and stepped back away from Wolf, rolling it up tighter in one paw. Once a better distance away, she held out the magazine, not unlike how one might hold a sword if they had little to no idea what they were doing.

"Well... there would be less chance of you getting beaten up that way." he replies with a small smile, as he watches her prepare herself.

He rolls up his magazine much as she had, but a bit tighter so that it was narrower.

"Oh please. You woulda had to catch me first!" she taunted.
The dog made a little hop forward, swinging her magazine at the one Wolf was holding.

Wolf angles his magazine to block Reena's at first, but then moves his paw so that his magazine was now in a position to block her paw instead.

Reena didn't slow in her swing at all and, once her paw hit against his magazine she drew back a bit again and paused to see if he would do anything else.

Wolf keeps his eyes on her as he swings the magazine lightly, aiming for her paw again.

In response, Reena took a bit of a more aggressive route and she also swung her magazine forward to meet Wolf's. She didn't swing it too hard, but still doing it with some force.

The two magazines meet with a light smacking sound. Wolf nods to her. He then pulls his magazine back for a moment and, with a quick flick of his wrist, attempts to hit her magazine again but with a bit more force.
