Beginning of a Journey

It appeared that Reena was intending to stay put for a fair bit as she didn't move much from where they were now. As she remained sitting there with this wolf that, technically, was still a bit of a stranger to her, she considered the idea of catching another nap after her last one had been interrupted previously. The thought lingered in her mind and the more she considered it and how relatively comfortable she currently was, the more appealing it became...

Wolf knew he wasn't going to be going anywhere until Reena go up so he let his mind wander and did his best to just meditate. He listens to the sound of the train moving along the tracks and the slight swaying as it went, letting it relax him as he tips his head back against the wall again.

In this position, feeling warm and quite safe, it was only a matter of time before Reena began to drift off. She would occasionally wake up, only to inhale deeply and look towards the window for several moments. But before long, she would start to doze once more. She only did this a couple of times before actually falling asleep yet again.

Wolf notices as Reena shifts about slightly as she makes herself comfortable enough to sleep, but he keeps his eyes closed and just leaves her be. He doesn't really notice when she does fall asleep though, focused as he is on his own meditation.

The train ride continued on in relative silence between the two over the following hour or so. Reena would occasionally shift in her sleep, sinking down little by little in front of Wolf to more of a lying position on the bench. She turned over to her left a bit as well, bringing both paws up to her chest at one point before settling down again.

About forty minutes after Reena had fallen asleep, Wolf opens his eyes to find that she had slipped further down from him and into more of a prone position rather than the sitting one she had started with.

After a brief deliberation, he reaches around her with both paws, sliding his arms under hers, and slowly pulls her back up to a sitting position in front of him, but still turned to her left. He keeps his right arm around behind her back and under her right arm to keep her from sliding back down.

With that taken care of, he settles back and closes his eyes again.

Upon being pulled back up, Reena only gave a small, "Hm..." in response. She snuggled there against Wolf's shoulder for a couple of moments. Otherwise, she didn't appear to have noticed being shifted at all. She settled back afterward and continued to sleep on for another good while.
During this time, though, she shifted further and further towards her front, though not rolling over fully. With Wolf's arm around her, she didn't slide down either. As her position changed again, her arms moved, though. Eventually, she'd nudged her paws past his sides and wrapped her arms loosely around Wolf's middle, continuing to sleep that way for the time being.

Wolf again notices this change in her position and opens his eyes to regard her. But as he doesn't want to disturb her, he lets her continue to rest against her and makes no move to remove her arms from around him.

Now in a position she was a bit more likely to fall asleep in at her own home, Reena seemed content to stay there for a good while. She would shift a bit now and then, but slept on for another hour or so regardless.
It was evening now, made notable by the darkening sky outside. The dark storm clouds from earlier only made it darker, though, and rain soon began to fall. It was light at first, tapping away at the roof of the train. Eventually, a flash of lightning lit up the inside of the cabin, though, followed shortly after by a low rumble of thunder overhead.
The sound made Reena's ears perk up slightly and she sighed quietly as her arms squeezed tighter around Wolf's middle for several moments. She stretched out her legs as well and pushed her head more firmly against his shoulder as the sound seemed to start waking her.

Wolf's ears perk up as the sound of rain hitting the train, but he doesn't react to it otherwise. It's not until the lightning illuminates the cabin and the thunder rumbles that he opens his eyes and glances around. He then looks to Reena, who seemed to be stirring slightly, before returning his attention to the window and the storm brewing outside.

The Klee Kai stretched a couple of moments more, then relaxed again. She opened her right eye, seeing the general material of Wolf's shirt in front of her and catching his scent as she breathed in again. For the moment, she thought nothing of this and merely gave a contented sigh. Her face nuzzled against him gently once again as she slowly grew more and more aware.

At the sound of her sigh and then the feeling of her nuzzling, Wolf looks down towards Reena but waits to see if she'll do anything more.

Another bolt of lightning shooting its way across the sky outside lit up the interior of the cabin. This caught the attention of the cuddly Klee Kai and as the thunder rolled in after, she turned her head to look out the window. She took note of the darker-looking sky and the rain whizzing by the glass and smiled a bit.
"Mm, I love napping during a storm," she commented quietly, turning her head back towards Wolf. She didn't yet look up at him, though her tail gave one brief wag.

Wolf regards her quietly.

"Well... you're awake now, so you can't be considered napping." he says.

"Yeah, but I was asleep when it started..." she pointed out, "Gimme a while and I could probably doze off again."

"I see." he replies, "Does that mean you are still tired and want to sleep more?"

"Nah..."
Reena shifted her head and let out a long yawn.
"Just a little drowsy," she replied.
She lowered her paws to the bench on either side of Wolf and started to push herself more upright again. She also finally turned her gaze to look at his face, even before she was sitting up fully. Her hair was rather mussed after rolling across his shirt, but she took no note of it yet. A smile crossed her muzzle and she greeted him with a short, "Evenin'."

He watches her and meets her gaze. He simply nods back to her. He then recalls he had one arm around her and began to withdraw it from under her arm.

Smile still across her face, Reena shifted back from Wolf, moving her paws away from him and sitting up there in front of him. As she rubbed her eyes with both paws, she commented, "You know, you make a pretty nice snuggle pillow. I hope you didn't mind too much that I was, like, all over you."

He blushes a little at her words.

"Well, I did offer." he says, "So I cannot really complain about it."

Reena nodded her head. "I can deal with that," she replied, lowering her paws to her lap. She let out a breath and looked towards the window again, listening to the rain beat down on the roof of the train car and the thunder getting steadily louder outside.
"I wonder if rain can slow down a train..." she mused aloud.

Wolf follows her gaze towards the window.

"Does it really matter?" he asks.

"Not really," Reena replied, "I'm just a curious sorta person. Although if it does slow the train down, it means it'll be longer before we get where we wanna go."

"Of course." he says, "That would mean we have more time to spend here too."

Reena turned her head to look back at Wolf. She smirked a little and added, "Yeah. More time for you to be stuck as my cuddle buddy."
