Beginning of a Journey

"Well... I don't think I'm psycho." he says, as he comes to a stop beside her in the line, "And I don't think you can kill cereals."

"Pffft, you know what I mean," Reena said with a smirk, shaking her head at the response.

"No... I don't think I've ever heard that term before." he replies.

"Oh... Really?" Reena asked, appearing curious.
"Well," she started, "A serial killer is a person who goes out and kills a bunch of people, like one after another. That's what I think of when I hear it, at least."

"Oh, okay. I don't do that." he replies, "Would need a really good reason."

Reena smiled. "So only a serial killer if you have a good reason?" she asked, "I get the feeling that they all think they have good reasons, too."
It was clear that she was teasing him and just making conversation for now.

"Oh... well... I still haven't done anything like that." he says.

Some of the people nearby were glancing towards the two of them as they overheard the conversation.

Reena paid no mind to the people around them, but she nodded.
"And hopefully you never will," she replied.

Wolf nods to her. Ahead of them, there was now only a couple of people. They were asked about their names, destination and details about the items they were dropping off so the attendants knew how to look after them.

Reena listened to the conversations now, keeping quiet as they waited for their turn.

Eventually Wolf and Reena were the next ones in line.

"Hello there. Are you dropping something off or are you picking something up?" the attendant asks.

Wolf looks at him.

"I was told to drop this off here." he says indicating his sword hanging at his side.

"Ah, I see." the attendant says, "If you'd hand it over and just give us your name and destination, so that when we arrive there we can have it ready for retrieval and we'll know who we're returning it to."

"Well, my name is Wolf." he replies as he removes the sword and scabbard and holds them out to the attendant, "As for where we're going..."

Wolf then looks over at Reena.

Reena was staring distractedly into the distance when Wolf trailed off and looked over to her. She returned her attention to him and the attendant, taking a moment to reply.
"Hm? Oh! We'll be getting out at the next stop arriving this evening. I can't remember the name of the place, though," she replied. She withdrew her ticket and offered it in one paw. "You can check my ticket if that helps," she added.

The attendant takes the ticket and looks it over. He then returns it to her.

"Alright then. So we'll keep it in storage for the time being and when we arrive at your destination, we'll have it ready for you. You'll just have to come back over here to pick it up." he tells them as he accepts the sword and passes it to another attendant in the doorway of the train.

"Well, sounds like that's all taken care of then," Reena said, looking to Wolf. "Wanna head on to get to our seats?"

Wolf watches as they took his sword away and loaded it into the train car.

"Yeah I suppose so." he replies, "I just hope there isn't any trouble that I might need that for..."

"Pffft, unless there's something crazy like a train robbery, I don't think so," Reena assured him, "That's why they take everyone's stuff like that. To prevent trouble, y'know?"

"Sure... but I've gotten used to expecting trouble." Wolf replies.

Reena looked at him for a few moments.
"Well... how about this? If something happens, I'll protect you," she offered. The canine smiled at Wolf. She seemed well aware that there likely much she couldn't do in the presence of danger, but the offer still stood nevertheless.

"Well... You are about the right size for me to pick you up and hold you like a shield." Wolf replies, smiling slightly.

"Ah ha, that would suck for me an awful lot, though," Reena pointed out, giving his arm a harder nudge with her fist this time, "I was thinking more along the lines of how distracting I can be if I start throwing stuff." She smirked slightly at him. "You can go hide under somethin' while I do that."

"Well, I'll keep that in mind." he says, giving her a sidelong glance as they walk.

"I'm sure you will," Reena replied. She rejoined the line they had been in earlier to board the train.

The line was much shorter this time. It's not long before they are in front of the attendant again, he quickly glances at their tickets and waves them aboard with the same instructions as before.

Reena nodded to the attendant and boarded the train. She followed the directions, heading left and continuing on until they could find another attendant to give further directions.

Another attendant meets them in the first car they enter and checks their tickets, then waves them through saying they'll have to head down another two cars towards the rear of the train before they'll reach their cabin.
