Beginning of a Journey

He offers her a little smile in return.

"Maybe it'll be worth the risk." he says, "It's always good to put one's mind at ease."

Reena lowered her gaze.
"Ain't that the truth," she had to agree, "But you just might end up with a little dog over there looking to get snuggly."

"Yeah, I know." he says, "But the offer still stands if you feel like you need it."

Reena nodded slightly. "Sounds good," she replied. She looked back over at Wolf.
"Thanks."

He nods back to her.

"You're welcome." he replies as he smiles to her.

Reena took another drink from her water bottle and was quiet for about a minute. It wasn't too long after that that she uncrossed her legs and lowered her feet towards the floor, even if they didn't quite reach.
She'd considered Wolf's offer through this time and admitted to herself that it would be nice to have some close company, if only for a little while. Her decision was made shortly after and the Klee Kai looked over at Wolf.
"Yup, incoming snuggles," she announced as she pushed herself off the bench. She didn't bother to put on her boots again and started to cross over to Wolf's side of the cabin.

Wolf watches her quietly. He inclines his head slightly when she says snuggles.

"Where should I make space for you?" he asks.

"Wherever you want," Reena replied, "These benches aren't really made for much more than sitting and laying down, it seems."

Wolf moves over on the bench, sitting closer to the door and making space for Reena to sit down on the end of the bench closer to the window.

Reena plopped down a short distance away from Wolf. She leaned down and set her water bottle on the floor then looked over at him.
"So, how about we switch this time?" she asked, "If it's okay with you, I'll probably just lay down and put my head in your lap."

"That... will probably be a bit weird for me..." he says, "How about we both face the side of the train and then you can lean back against me instead?"

"Which side?" Reena asked, tilting her head, "Like the window or the door? Or separate sides?"

"How about the window side?" he asks, "I won't have to move to the other end of this seat then."

Reena nodded. "Okay, that sounds like it'll work, then," she replied.

Wolf turns to face the side of their cabin the window was on. He lifts one leg and puts his foot on the bench, resting his leg against the back of the bench, and then moving back to the end of the bench he was on and  leans back against the wall of the cabin.

Reena watched him move away and she waited a moment before asking, "So, you want me to just back up to you?"

"Well, would you be comfortable like that?" he asks, looking back at her.

"I'm comfortable just about anywhere," Reena admitted, smiling slightly, "Just clarifying."
She turned away from Wolf and pulled both feet up onto the bench. She then used her feet to slide herself back towards him, glancing back over her shoulder until she was close enough to lean back comfortably on him.

Wolf shifts back a bit as Reena moves towards him, making sure that he was comfortable and not slouching at all. He lets out a breath slowly as she eased against him. He now sat there with one arm and one leg resting on either side of her.

Reena waited a moment as Wolf shifted behind her. She then also took several moments to settle back against him more comfortably and snugly. The canine soon easily started to relax there in front of him as she leaned back on him and she shifted her gaze to look out the window.

Wolf looks over Reena's shoulder towards the window, but he refrains from saying anything as he just relaxes there with her.

Reena seemed to be content with this position and she slouched a bit on the bench after a little while. Her paws rested in her lap and she just watched the trees go by outside the window. It wasn't too long, though, before she closed her eyes.

Wolf glances out the window for a while, but like Reena, he closes his eyes as well and then lets his head lean back to rest against the wall.

After a time of keeping her eyes closed, Reena eventually leaned her head back against Wolf's shoulder. She let out a quiet breath shortly afterward.

At this, Wolf opens his eyes and looks at Reena as her head settles on his shoulder. He lets out a breath slowly as he gets used to the feeling, then he closes his eyes again.
