Beginning of a Journey

Wolf was able to sleep for nearly an hour before awakening. From the sound of the train, they were still heading towards their destination. He has no idea how long their were traveling, but he figures that Reena would know. He rolls slowly onto his side so that he's facing the spot he'd last seen her sitting and opens his eyes to see if she was still there.

It took a while longer, but Reena had managed to fall asleep after a good twenty minutes or so. By the time Wolf woke up again, she'd shifted around onto her front, using her right arm for a pillow. Her left arm was hanging off the side of the bench and down towards the floor. With her mouth hanging open a bit and her curled tail shifting to one side or the other now and then, the Klee Kai seemed quite comfortable and didn't appear to be waking up just yet.

Wolf slowly sits up, taking note of how his head felt at this time. He was pleased to find that his headache had apparently disappeared while he slept. He swings his legs off the bench, taking notice of some discomfort in his back from lying on the bench, and then stands up so he can stretch himself out before sitting back down again.

As Wolf shifted around and stretched, Reena took no note that her travel companion had woken up yet. Her ears twitched a couple of times, but she remained still otherwise.

Wolf sees that Reena appears to be sleeping soundly once he's done stretching. He then moves to the window and glances out through it, doing his best to look in the direction they were heading for any sign of their eventual destination. At this time, he couldn't see any sign of civilization.

He lets out a breath quietly, then moves back over to his bench and sits down once again. He places his paws in his lap and closes his eyes, deciding that he would relax and meditate until either Reena awoke or something else occurred that got his attention.

Reena continued to sleep over the course of the next hour. She shifted a few times, her eyes fluttering open momentarily before she would settle down again. Eventually she wound up curled up on her side as best as she could on the bench and sleeping that way.

A short time later, there was another knock on the door of their cabin. Wolf opens his eyes almost immediately and looks, first to the door and then to his companion.

The sound gave Reena a start and she jumped slightly from where she was lying down. Her eyes opened and blinked several times after as she lifted her head to look around.
"Mm...?" she murmured softly, squinting her eyes over towards Wolf.

"Someone's at the door." Wolf says, "Want me to get it?"

"Oh."
Reena pushed herself up about halfway to being upright. "Sure, go for it," she replied as she yawned and raised up one paw to rub her eye.

Wolf stand up from the bench and moves over to the door. He opens it and finds another attendant standing in the corridor there.

"Hello." he says uncertainly.

"Good day." the attendant replies, "I just came by to let you know that the dining car is now open, in case you were hungry and wanted something to eat during the remainder of your trip."

"Oh, okay. Perhaps we'll make our way over there later." Wolf replies.

"Of course sir." the attendant replies, "I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip."

"Uh thank you." Wolf replies.

The attendant smiles and nods, then turns away to move to the next cabin. Wolf closes the door and turns to look at Reena again.

While Wolf and the attendant were speaking, Reena sat up and lowered her feet down to the floor, then took a few moments to stretch her arms out in front of her, followed by her legs.
"Awesome, we can get some kibbles whenever we want now," she commented once the door had been shut.

"Sounds like it." Wolf replies.

He moves back over to his bench and sits back down.

Reena yawned and adjusted her gaze to stare out the window. Several moments passed in silence before she looked over at Wolf.
"Were you hungry yet?" she asked.

"Well... a little." he says, "I could eat, but I don't feel like I have to."

"Did you wanna go now or wait a while?" she asked.

"Do you want to go?" Wolf asks.

"Eh, my tummy's kind of asleep right now so not quiiiite yet. But that's just me," Reena admitted. She smiled slightly. "I'd probably get hungry if I smelled food."

"Well, when you feel ready to, we can go." Wolf says.

"Sure, just gimme a little bit," Reena nodded. She pulled out her phone, looking at the screen for a few moments.
"So, did you get any sleep? How's your head feelin'?" she asked once she'd lowered her phone back down again.

"I assume I slept." Wolf replies, "Don't know for how long it was. But, my head does feel better."

"Well that's good," Reena commented, offering a slight smile. She yawned again and peered back outside.

"I don't think we're close to our destination yet." he says when she moves to the window.

"Probably not," Reena agreed, "I don't think we'll get there until after dark."

"Huh... that looks like it's a few hours away." Wolf replies, after considering it quietly for a few moments.
