Beginning of a Journey

"Well, unless you'd really want to end up having to adjust your lifestyle to accommodate two people. I think that might get a bit expensive though." he says, "But I'm usually living away from all this stuff. Hunting and foraging, living off whatever I can find. Being far from all this comfort. Having to be ready to deal with whatever dangers might present themselves alone."

"Maybe we could find a halfway point between the two ways?" Reena suggested, "We could travel on foot, maybe make it like camping more, but when we come into towns, we could still get food in restaurants and stop in to hotels and stuff."

"I tend to do... similar stuff already." Wolf says, "I do travel to towns. I just may not stay there long. But the trips between them can take weeks on foot. Are you sure you'd really be up to that?"

"Hm..." Reena glanced at her laptop.
"Hard to say," she admitted, "I wouldn't be able to charge my tech... Which isn't bad except I probably wouldn't take my laptop with me since it'd just be extra stuff to carry."
She scratched her neck a bit with her free paw.
"I guess it's something I'd have to be planning ahead for and pack accordingly," she said.

"It's not something that's easy to plan for in all honesty." Wolf says, "Before you decide to join me on such a journey, maybe you should consider undertaking some easier ones on your own first."

"Well, I think it'd make sense to go with you on 'easier' trips," Reena pointed out, "I mean, then you'd know what to do and I could learn stuff that way before we really head out into the wilderness."

"I'm not sure if I'm ever really on an easy trip." he says, "But if you're going on your own you could plan out exactly where you're going, how long it might take, what you might encounter, and maybe even have someone available to help you out. But that would probably take a lot of advance planning to prepare... and that's not really something I do."

"Well, first time for everything, right?" Reena replied, "We could still try to find a halfway point."

"Perhaps, but maybe right now is not the best time for that." he says.

He gives her paw a light squeeze.

"Maybe the next time we cross paths we can see about giving that a try though." he suggests.

"But how do we know there might even be a next time?" Reena asked, looking more concerned for a few moments. "There's no real guarantee that we'll just happen to run into each other again sometime. Especially since you spend so much time out in the wilds."

"There are no guarantees of anything. But you can always hope." Wolf replies.

"Bleh." Reena stuck out her tongue. "Hoping is nice and all, but I prefer taking action," she admitted.

"Of course." he says, "Given your stubbornness, I suspect that fate will accommodate you if you want us to meet again, just so it won't have to deal with you."

He smirks at her slightly.

"Damn straight, it should!" Reena agreed, "And then I'll drag you off to sleep in hotel beds and eat at buffets some more!"

Wolf snorts softly.

"Well, when we meet up again, I'll be sure to let you do that." he says.

"Good," Reena smiled, "Otherwise it'll look pretty awkward if people see me trying to drag you places because you're trying to be difficult."

"That it would be." he agrees, smirking back at her.

Reena smiled at him a couple moments more, then shifted her gaze back over to the television screen.

"Maybe in preparation for such a moment you should consider working out." he says, "Build up some strength from it."

"I work out!" Reena protested, looking back over at him, "Maybe not in a gym, but I do my best to stay active and keep fit."

"Of course, but there's no real power behind you." he says, "I found that out with all the fighting you did yesterday."

"So, what, I should go start doing pull-ups and bench pressing stuff?" Reena asked, "C'mon, how buff do you expect me to be?"

"You're the one who mentioned dragging me around." he replies with a small smile.

"Yeah, but are you planning to give me a hard time about it?" she asked, squinting her eyes at him playfully.

"Nah. I like being able to beat you easily." he replies with a smirk.
