Beginning of a Journey

"Friend, close acquaintance, yeah," Reena replied with a smile, "I dunno, I'd say we've hit it off fairly well, don't you think?"

He nods to her in response.

"I think so." he says, "I just don't have much to judge our... relationship by. There have been so few people that I've spent much time with."

"See? That's why I just wanna, like, wrap you up in a blanket and stuff you under my bed or in my closet or something," Reena said playfully, "Just keep you around and keep you company."

"Sounds more like you want me all to yourself when you say that." he replies with a little smirk at her.

The Klee Kai laughed a bit at that.
"Well, I'd be hiding you from the bad people," she explained, "I'd let you out when the coast is clear."

"Of course." he says, smiling at her, "If I felt really confident it would work, I'd consider giving that a try. You'd be good company at the least."

"I just need a really good security system and it could," Reena replied. She shrugged her shoulders. "Shame I can't actually get one, though."

"Ah." he says, "Well, maybe one day when we can sort out all of these important details we could then consider giving that sort of arrangement a try."

He slides his paw around hers and gives it a gentle squeeze.

Reena smiled again. "That sounds good," she agreed. She let go of the remote and got a grasp of Wolf's, returning the squeeze as well.

Wolf smiles to her in return. He continues to hold her paw as he eventually turns his attention back to the television. It felt strangely comforting to have Reena's support.

Yesterday, she was just a stranger he had met by chance. Today, she seemed like someone that he could trust and rely on. It was very reassuring.

Once Wolf turned his head away, Reena did the same. Her gaze returned to the television, though her mind was still more focused on this new friend she seemed to now have. She found herself hoping that, at least in some small way, she could help him out in what sounded to her like a very lonesome life.

Wolf feels content to sit there beside Reena for the time being and continue to watch television with her. After a while, he lies down on the bed beside her, making himself more comfortable.

Reena also remained contentedly there in the bed. She switched back and forth between watching television and surfing the Internet on her laptop. Throughout this, she still lightly held onto Wolf's paw, even when he shifted to lie down. Eventually, she was slouching in the bed with her laptop on her stomach. The Klee Kai seemed quite comfortable and content to just chill out there for the time being.
She did, however, keep track of the time, so they could prepare to leave when it was close to check-out time.

Wolf glances between the television and Reena's laptop as time passes, wondering what she had found of interest, if anything at all.

"Find anything there?" he asks her as he glances from her laptop screen to her.

"Hm?" Reena took in a breath and glanced over to Wolf. She looked back to her screen for a moment.
"Just doing my usual. Keeping up with other blogs," she replied.

"Oh, okay." he says, "It seems to keep you quite busy."

"Mmm, not busy, exactly," Reena admitted, "It's just kinda something idle to do, especially during commercials."

"Of course." he says, "You wouldn't want to miss any of the details of this other... thing we're watching."

Reena smiled.
"Getting tired of this one?" she asked him.

"Sitting around still isn't much of a thing for me." he says, "Maybe one day."

"Yeah, it gets old pretty quick," Reena admitted, "But nothing really stops us from checking out early. We could figure out our plans and head on out any time."

"Of course." he says, "I think our plans are pretty straight forward though."

He looks at her.

"We're likely going to part ways after we leave here." he adds.

"Well, I wasn't sure if you changed your mind or not," Reena grinned a bit. She squeezed his paw briefly in hers.

"Well, I might be swayed by a really persuasive argument." he says, smiling slightly, "A travel companion would be nice, but they'd definitely have to be someone that can handle my style of living."

"So, more like me going with you than you going with me, huh?" Reena asked, "So what kinda style of livin' are we talking about?"
