Beginning of a Journey

Reena let the conversation come to a pause there as well. She was most of the way through her sandwich by now and had slowed down a bit as she started to feel more content.

It didn't take much longer for Wolf to finish off the rest of his sandwich. He then pushes his plate aside and picks up his glass of water. He looks out the window while he slowly sips from the glass.

As she noted that he had finished eating, Reena looked over towards Wolf. She was just about finishing up as well, having been pausing every now and then to toy with her cell phone.
"Feelin' a little better now?" she asked him, glancing towards his empty plate.

Wolf turns his attention back towards the canine and he nods to her.

"Yes, I believe that I feel much better now." he replies, "Thank you for the meal."

"Well, good." Reena smiled. "I'm glad I could brighten your day at least a little bit."
She took another bite of her sandwich and then asked, "Did you have anything else you needed to do? Or did you want to go ahead and go look at a map?"

"Well, I hadn't even been planning on staying around to eat." he replies, "I suppose when you are done, we could go and look over a map."

"Sounds like a plan." The canine nodded her head again.
"Usually," she added, "I keep my map with me, in case I need it. But go figure, the day I need it, I only brought my camera bag with me." She smiled sheepishly. "So we'll have to go get it outta my room."

"I'm sure you didn't expect to need it in that tree. You weren't planning on going far with just the few items you have on you." he replies, "But, if you're fine with me going with you to where you're staying, I suppose we can head over there."

"Yeah, it doesn't bother me," Reena replied, waving one paw slightly. "It's just a couple blocks away at that inn I pointed out earlier."
She lifted her sandwich up to her muzzle, finishing it off in a couple more bites.

Wolf nods to her.

"I remember." he replies, "Once you're ready, we can go."

He then lifts his glass and finishes off the rest of his water.

Reena simply gave an, "Mhmm," in response instead of trying to speak through her mouthful of food. She finished off the last of the chips afterward and and downed the rest of her soda. The canine then let out a contented sigh as she sat back in her seat.
"Oh man, a nap would be so good right now," she admitted, giving her middle a light pat, "But maybe I'll worry about that later."

"Tired so soon in the day? Have you been busy?" he asks, "At least before we bumped into one another."

"Nah." Reena chuckled softly. "I just get sleepy after I eat sometimes. Especially when it's nice and warm outside, for some reason."
The canine grabbed her camera bag, pulling the strap back across her shoulders and torso. She picked up her phone as she started to slide out of the booth. The device was tucked into her back pocket again.
"Shall we head out before I try and get you to give me a piggyback ride to the inn?" She smiled playfully at him.

Wolf slides out from the booth and stands. He stretches slightly, adjusts his sword, then crouches down to pick up his duffel bag. He looks up at the canine as he pulls the strap of the bag over his head and lets it rest diagonally across his upper body again.

"Perhaps that would be best." he replies as he stands back up again, "That way I won't have to say no to you."

"Pffft, I saw that comin'," she admitted.
She picked up her tray and carried it over to the nearest trashcan, throwing away the disposable dishware, then setting the tray on top of the trashcan where a couple of trays already had been left by other patrons.
With her trash thrown away, Reena moved over to the exit, pausing there to wait for Wolf before heading back outside onto the sidewalk.

Wolf follows suit making his way to the trashcan and emptying the content of his try into it, then sets his tray on top of the others there. He turns and makes his way over to the exit where the canine was waiting for him, then he follows her outside. He takes in a breath. While it doesn't smell as strongly as foodstuffs, he's glad to get in some fresh air.

"Alright, back this way we go," the Klee Kai said, stating the obvious as she started off back the way they'd come from earlier. She began to lead the way to the inn, tucking her paws into her back pockets a short time into the walk.

Wolf walks along with her, trailing just behind her and off to her left. He resumes looking around at the various building they make their way past as they head back towards the inn.

A few minutes into their walk, Reena glanced back past her shoulders and towards Wolf.
"So, where is it that you're headed, again?" she asked him curiously.

Wolf looks back at her.

"Nowhere specific." he replies, "I'm just... going really."

He looks away.

"Once I have a better idea of what's around, I'll consider just where I'll go next." he adds.

Reena's ears perked slightly.
"Oh, so you're just traveling for the hell of it, too, then. Right?" she asked, tilting her head a bit.

"For the most part. I don't really have a destination in mind." he says, "I don't have the urge to stay anywhere I've been now either. So... I just go."

As he speaks, he seems a bit wistful, apparently thinking about something else.

Reena turned her head more towards him as he spoke.
"Gee, that sounds kinda lonely, really," she replied afterward, her ears lowering slightly, "Don't you ever go home?"

Wolf shakes his head.

"No." he replies, "There's not really anything there to return to anyway."

He looks back at her.

"May as well just keep moving forward." he says.

"Oh..."
Reena averted her gaze as she thought about this for a few moments. Afterward, though, she looked back at Wolf, offering a smile.
"Well, I hope you find something worth hanging around somewhere for," she said.
