Atlas of Worlds (Pt. 1)

Not a word. She didn't even flinch.

Kat smiled. "I think I'll do fine."

"Ayah speak!!!" Devionus smiled.

And she continued walking away from them.

Ren, who had seen the whole thing happen, was leaning against the wall in the hallway.

"Besides, I only get tired because I want to."

Prima was not having this as she grabbed ayah by the arm. "Ayah!!! Speak!!!" "Hmm well I've done many things , Kat. Killing is something I do commonly. "

"Jin's dead. Someone murdered him," she says tearfully. "Boss wanted to speak with me."

"And I hope to replace that with somethng else."

"Jin..Oh God. " Prima looked at Maggie. "You think it was her?"

"Oh? Like what? "

"Let's not make any bold conclusions."

After Maggie said that, Ayah tried to wrestle out of Prima's grasp.

Kat placed her arms around Dev's hips.

Prima kept a hold. "Please! May I come with you" "oh"

"Boss' doesn't like non-members inside the headquarters."

"So, what do you think about my proposition?ô

"Well I have a feeling I Know who did it..." "I think it would work out well...Ifwe were in a kids show. But I'll see if it works..."

"You do? Well, I suppose he could make an exception," she said. "Just follow me and don't trail off."

"I'm sure it'll work. It's not like you permanently killed anyone off."

Prima smiled and followed.

"No I have. Killed a two already from this dimension. That bat was so honorable in his death. "

Street signs in disrepair, buildings with boarded up windows, shops that had the notice 'Sorry, we're closed' all year.

There was no better place to hide a group of vigilantes than in a dead part of the city.

Kat made a few steps back, letting go of Dev. Her eyes turned yellow.

"You've... you've killed Jin?"

"Nice hiding place." "That was his name? You knew him?" Dev realized she made a mistake. "Oh no...Am I going have to bring back yet another person from the dead! Uhhhhhhh!!! I'll probably faint if I do that!"

"Oh, don't thank me, thank my boss." Surely enough, their base of operations didn't look any different than the buildings surrounding it.

On the inside, however, it was rather nice. Green walls nicely lit by small lights, cherrywood furniture. It could easily be mistaken for a big house.

Kat's eyes turned orange. "And they call me the monster."

"Whoa"

"I've been called much worst things in my world. But you are no monster compared to me."

She's greeted by a sharp-dressed hedgehog. "Ah, you're finally here. And you're, uh, not alone." 

He leans in. "Who are those people?"

Red eyes, take warning. "He was innocent."

Prima stayed silent. She didn't want to speak when she was not supposed too. "But he was blind...I thought maybe his soul should be part of something greater...I didn't know..Hewas of worth to you..I wouldn't have done it.."

"This is our butler and friendly neighborhood smuggler Sullivan. Sullivan, these are Prima and Maggie."

"Uh-huh." He's seen his fair share of odd-looking people, so, the lamia and the crystal-skinned girl didn't really suprise him.

"He wasn't worth anything to me, but he might have to someone else."

"Butler? Nice."  " yes I know he was of worth to ayah but... honestly... she could have better friends. Anything is better than a blind bat."

"Why are they here again?" Sullivan asks. "Stri-, err, the boss has very strict rules when it comes to taking in just random people."

Kat closed her eyes and let out a sigh. 

Yeah, this was not worth it.

"Well we might be able to help you with that.. Happened..." Devionus noticed Kat's fave and levitated closer to her. "I'm sorry..I don't really understand how things are in this world. Everything this is backwards..."

"You better," Sullivan says somberly. "We're like family to him and last time when two of us went KIA, he, uh, attempted to kill himself by combining his medication with alcohol."

"You can't just go around killing people!" Kat shouts at her. "People here have families, friends, dreams, things to live for! I don't know where you're from, but it must have be a ******** if none of these things matter to you."

"Whoa... That must of been hard to find out'' Prima said​. "Look I'm sorry!!!"

"Not quite," Sullivan continued. "We got worried and so, we checked on him. If it weren't for us, he'd likely die."

Ayah's boss then walks out of his conference room and appears in the hallway they're in.

He gives Prima and Maggie a frown, but doesn't say anything.

Excess vapour vented out of Kat's neck as she tried to calm down. "Sorry doesn't work for murder. You can be sorry all you want, but at the end of the day, they are gone and blood is on your hands, either literally or figuratively."
