In the Middle of Summer

Wolf follows Reena along. He glances towards her quizzically as she tightens her grip on his paw, leading him towards the dancing it seemed. He continues to follow along, even though he has no idea what she intended... but figured it was gonna be some sort of trouble.

((Oh here, have some semi-appropriate, mostly random noise.))


Reena turned to face Wolf once she'd pulled him out onto the 'dance floor' with her. She'd actually expected some resistance and was pleased when he just followed along easily. She reached out to seize his other paw, already starting to do some simple little swaying step back and forth to match the pace of the song playing at the time.

"You're gonna learn today!" the Klee Kai stated cheerfully.

Wolf looks around as Reena pulls him out onto the dance floor. He had considered just bringing them to a halt, as it was well within his power to do so, but it seemed rather rude to do that. Once she had grabbed hold of his other paw and started dancing herself, he glances at her and then around at the crowd.

"I really have no idea what I'm supposed to do here." he tells her, "And trying to figure it out in the middle of this group of people doesn't seem like a good place to learn..."

"Sure, it is, we have music going!" Reena urged. She gave his paws a little squeeze. "Just keep your eyes on me!" the dog added, continuing her own little swaying dance steps as well.

Wolf does look back at Reena but he's unsure of what to do and he appears to be growing more uncomfortable there.

Reena still kept on dancing back and forth in front of Wolf, swinging his paws in her grasp and wagging her tail. She could see the uncertainty on his face when they locked gazes, but was just sure if she kept encouraging him that he might join her.

"Hmmmm?"

Maybe.

"You know... I think I might just sit back and watch this for now Reena." he says, "I... just don't really feel good about being here..."

"Well, I won't dance if you won't do it with me," Reena pointed out. She finally stopped swaying and perked her ears up. "You don't even wanna try?"

"I'm sorry... I just don't feel comfortable with this." Wolf says, "But you shouldn't stop if you're enjoying yourself. Maybe I'll just back off and watch for now."

"I'm not gonna dance by myself, Wolf," Reena told him. She released her hold on one of his paws and then started to lead him back to the main walkway.
"C'mon! I'll just have to remember to teach you how to dance later when nobody's around," the dog gave him a mischievous grin.

"I'm sorry..." Wolf says as Reena leads him off, "I know you're just trying to have fun out here."

"Well, I also know you're kind of a deep-in-your-shell kinda guy, too," Reena added, "But it was worth a shot!" With their attempt to dance done and over with, the dog returned to just casually strolling along down the boardwalk, looking at what all else was being offered there.

"Alright. Maybe... give me a warning about wanting to try these events with me, okay?" Wolf says as he follows her along the boardwalk.

"Will it really make a difference?" Reena asked, glancing up at him. There was some doubt on her face, but she was still smiling regardless.

"Would you have danced along if I asked you first?"

"Well, it might give you a better idea if I'm going to take part in what you're planning." he replies, "It would probably be better than having me standing awkwardly in the middle of others performing an activity at least."

"Well, with some people, if you just ask them, they say no too easily, though," Reena pointed out, "So I don't like to give that chance a lot. That extra little push can make the difference sometimes!"

"Oh... so I should just be prepared for you to drag me into things." Wolf says.

"One hundred percent," Reena grinned, "It's not like I'll ever try to make you anything bad or not fun, after all."

"Huh... alright. Guess this day is just going to be full of surprises then." he replies, as he follows while she tugs him along.

"Probably!" Reena smiled broadly. "This time around, I'll make sure to tire you out in the daytime so you sleep easier at night!"

"You might be setting out quite a challenge for yourself then." Wolf replies, "Sleeping easy never really comes easy for me, no matter how tired I generally am. I'm sure you'll try, just don't be disappointed if you don't meet with success."

"Well, at least the excuse won't be that I dragged you onto a forever-long train ride that we just slept through, though," Reena said.

She sniffed a couple of times as they walked. Even though she'd eaten semi-recently, the smells of food all around were making her hungry all over again...

"I can't remember if I asked yet, but are you hungry?" the dog asked rather suddenly, "The smell of all this food is getting my tummy rumblin'!"

"That train ride was a strange experience." he replies, "I remember it made me feel sick."

Wolf glances towards Reena again when she mentions food.

"Well, I haven't eaten in a while... I suppose I could go for some food." he says.

"Yeah, flashbacks of being motion sick aren't the best time to think about food, but I gotta at least have a snack!" Reena admitted.
Her silver eyes were scanning the many stands, kiosks, and restaurants in the area and her walking slowed to a stroll. "Now the hardest part is gonna be tryin' to pick something, though," she mused.

"If you say so." Wolf replies, "I guess you just have to figure out what your preference is."
