Beginning of a Journey

Wolf took his utensils and began to work at cutting up his steak into more manageable pieces before beginning to eat it.

Reena began to do the same. A comfortable silence came over them for now as the Klee Kai seemed plenty content to just focus on her food.

Wolf samples some of his steak, finding it quite enjoyable, and then tries some of the vegetables he had as well, thinking they went pretty well with the steak.

"Mmmm... this is pretty good." he tells Reena.

Reena lifted her gaze away from her plate at the sound of Wolf speaking to her. She smiled broadly and nodded in response.
"Innit, though?" she replied, "Gonna be a good meal to sleep on later, for sure."

Wolf considers that for a few moments.

"I suppose it will if sleep comes shortly after we finish." he says, "I don't know about you, but I think I slept a fair amount on the trip here."

"Well, I don't think I'll digest aaalll this food before bedtime in the next couple of hours," Reena pointed out, "And you'd be amazed how much more easily you can fall asleep in a hotel bed instead of on a train."
She paused to take another drink from her glass.
"But we'll see what else there is to do here before calling it night, of course," she added in.

Wolf glances over at Reena.

"Does that mean you're considering going elsewhere once we're finished eating?" he asks.

The dog shrugged her shoulders as she kept on eating.
"Maybe," came the reply, "It depends on what there is to do."
Reena returned the look.
"Would you rather just go back to the hotel and see what's on TV or get washed up or somethin'?" she asked.

Wolf considers this quietly for a few moments.

"I don't know." he replies, "I normally don't have much to choose from other than sitting down to rest and think after a day of travel."

He then takes another bite of steak.

"Then tonight you get to do something different from the usual," Reena told him, "I mean, if you want to. If you wanna just sit and rest, you can do that, too."

"Well, I'll consider any suggestions you offer at least." he replies, "If we can't agree on anything, you could still go and do them yourself though."

"Yeah, we'll see how we feel after this," Reena agreed with a nod.
She gestured to her plate of food and added, "I'll probably need a doggy bag for this anyway and then I'll have a snack for later back at the hotel just in case I get hungry again."

Wolf pauses while eating. He takes a few moments to think about what Reena had said, then chews and swallows.

"A... doggy bag?" he asks.

Reena chuckled and nodded.
"Yeah, you know. A carryout container," she replied, "So I can take my leftover food with me?"

"Oh..." Wolf replies as understanding dawns on him, "I've never heard a term like that before. I wasn't sure if it had to do with you being canine or not."

"Well, it makes it a little more fun to say, I'll admit."
She grinned broadly and there was a brief moment where her tail may have been wagging behind her, but it didn't last long enough to know for sure.
"Makes me wonder what a wolfy bag would be, though," Reena added after taking another bite of her meal.

Wolf thinks about that for a while, but he doesn't offer a response. Instead he turns his attention back to eating.

"What, no comment?" she asked through a mouthful of food, peering over at Wolf. "Or ideas? Wolfy bags could be a thing and we don't even know about it."

"I'm not really sure what a... 'wolfy bag' might entail." he replies, "So I'm not sure what could be said about it."

"Hm..."
The Klee Kai lowered her gaze, pondering over this for a few moments.
"Well... maybe something to do with... with the phrase 'wolfing down food'?" she suggested, "So maybe it's a whole 'nother meal?"
Reena couldn't help but laugh and shake her head a bit.
"Who knows, I'm just makin' conversation," she admitted.

Wolf pauses his eating.

"So... the bag would... eat the food?" he asks.

"No, no, instead of a doggy bag having leftovers from a meal, a wolfy bag could have a whole other meal inside to take with you," Reena replied.
She let out an amused breath through her nose.
"Though I am mostly just joking," she added.

"Oh... so just a big doggy bag really?" he asks, "Since it has more inside it?"

"Yeah, that sounds about right," Reena agreed, "I mean, some people say wolves are just bigger, wilder dogs. I figure the wild part varies, though."
She grinned at him.
"You don't seem really wild," she commented, "Just... self-sufficient."

"Well, I'm hardly tame." Wolf replies, looking back at her, "Just that I've been taught a fair bit about being civil. I know most people appreciate that."
