Beginning of a Journey

Wolf lets out a breath slowly. He focuses on keeping himself relaxed and after a few minutes he begins to doze lightly.

Reena spent the following several moments eating her food at a leisurely pace. She would occasionally glance over towards Wolf for a couple of moments, then lower her gaze back to her phone's screen again and refocus on whatever she was doing there.
Upon finishing her wrap, though, and with Wolf seemingly asleep there across from her, another nap, perhaps longer this time, sounded awfully nice. The canine mused over the idea for only another ten minutes or so before deciding she might as well get a bit more rest. No such thing as too much sleep, she figured.
Wolf's wrap was set aside to where she wouldn't push it onto the floor once she stretched out and she placed her water bottle on the floor. Another minute later, she'd removed her boots again and she pulled her feet up onto the bench and settled in for another cat nap. A dog nap in this case. Her train of thought took off as to wondering what the difference between the two could be. As she relaxed and started off towards dozing, she hoped a dog nap was better and more pleasant either way.

Wolf slept on and off over the following hour, waking and shifting frequently. It didn't take too long for his headache to pass again, but he remained lying down and continued to doze briefly through the rest of the hour.

Finally, he figures that he isn't actually going to sleep as he wasn't really tired, so he sat up and picked up his bottle of water, which he'd left on the seat beside him. He reopened it and took another drink from it while he glances around the cabin again.

It seemed that the Klee Kai could sleep just about any time as she was fast asleep again on the bench. This time she was lying on her side with her back pressed against the back of the bench and keeping one paw tucked under her head. She didn't notice when Wolf sat up.

Wolf looks over at Reena. He smiles slightly as he watches her. He slowly stands and makes his way over to where she was sleeping. Doing his best to not disturb her, he reaches over for his wrap.

The sleeping dog seemed entirely oblivious to his nearby presence. For now, she only let out a soft sigh as she continued sleeping.

Wolf picks up his wrap and then moves back over to his bench and sits back down. He sniffs at the wrap a few time before he starts to remove the wrapper slowly and as quietly as he can.

The sound of the aluminum wrapper being unfolded made Reena's ears twitch just a bit. She inhaled a little more deeply, but with the rest of the sounds of the train still going, she didn't yet shift all that far or open her eyes.

Wolf remains focused on the wrapper so he doesn't really pay much attention to Reena. He continues to attempt to quietly unwrap his food for another minute. At that point, he has access to the bacon wrap inside. Before he bites into it though he glances back over at Reena to see if he had woken her with his activity.

Reena still appeared comfortable and content as she continued to snooze on the bench. Her ears were just slightly more attentive, but she hadn't given much other indication of waking up otherwise.

Seeing that Reena still appeared to be sleeping, Wolf starts to eat quietly. After a little while he closes his eyes as he continues to eat, having noticed that he seems to feel better during this train ride when his eyes are closed.

While the silence between them continued as Reena slept, before too long she started to shift in her sleep. It wasn't unlike watching a sleeping animal dreaming. Her ears would twitch or her fingers would shift as something seemed to be going on in her mind. She mumbled softly under her breath as well, but none of the words were intelligible.

Wolf opens his eyes and glances at Reena as she makes a bit of noise while she sleeps. He keeps relatively quiet apart from eating, still doing his best to not disturb her.

A short time later, Wolf finishes eating and then folds up the wrap wrapper as quietly as he can and sets it aside. He sits there and considers his options for what he could do now. He was wary of leaving the cabin since he didn't have many options of where to go, and he wasn't sure if he was feeling better or if his head would start to hurt again. In that respect he thought it might be best if he just stayed put for now. That only left him with the option of resting.

Sighing softly, Wolf settles back on his bench, thinking that while this method of travel might be faster, it didn't really leave one with much to do.

Meanwhile, Reena's mumblings came a little more frequently and her brow furrowed under her bangs. She seemed to grow a little more agitated with her paws clenching and her feet shifting just slightly.
This didn't go on for more than another minute before the Klee Kai inhaled sharply and her eyes shot open. Reena lifted her head up and looked quickly around the cabin. She spotted Wolf and for a brief moment, there was a look of unfamiliarity in her eyes. But as she recalled him, she relaxed just a bit and shifted her gaze over to the window instead.

As Reena grew more agitated, she drew Wolf's attention. He watches her until she woke with a start and met his gaze. He remains quiet for a couple of moments.

"Are you alright?" he asks, "You seem... distressed."

Reena pushed herself upright and crossed her legs in front of her. Her eyes were squinting a bit and her ears remained out to either side of her head. She groaned out a little, "Bleehhh..." as her paws were raised up and she dragged them down her face. One eye seemed to catch her attention and she brought her paw back up again to rub at it.

"Yeah... I guess that's one way to put it," the canine finally replied.

Wolf stays quiet as he watches Reena, unsure if he should ask about what was bothering her or wait for her to address it.

Once done rubbing her eye, Reena lowered her paw to join the other in her lap. A few moments passed in silence before she spoke.
"Guess we really met some... weird people today," she admitted, "Must've stuck in my head."

Wolf considers that for a few moments and then nods his head in agreement.

"We did. The hedgehog outside town. The other at the station. That big guy in green who ran through town being chased." he says.

Reena also nodded. "That last one's the only one that really scared me, though," she pointed out, "Don't think I've had anyone almost pull a weapon on me just 'cause they thought I was taking pictures."

"Maybe he has something to hide." Wolf says, "I can understand that myself... but I wouldn't go that far."

"Oh ho, that guy was practically about to explode with secret secrets," Reena agreed, "But he was, what, twice my height? He probably coulda just stepped on me or something."

"Maybe... but then he came through town where dozens of people would have seen him. Surely someone got a picture of him." Wolf says, "So who really knows what was going on with him."

"I hope I never find out," Reena admitted, sighing quietly afterward. "That dream was scary as hell." She glanced around for her water bottle. Upon spotting it, she leaned down and grabbed it, then took a few moments to have a long drink.

"Were you dreaming about him?" Wolf asks.
