Beginning of a Journey

A few minutes pass in relative silence.

Suddenly there is a knock on the door of their cabin. Wolf looks a bit startled and jumps slightly in his seat. He glances over at the door and then back at Reena.

Reena was relaxed and comfortable in her spot and her mind was wandering, if only to pass the time. However, the sudden sound of knocking and spotting the brief movement of Wolf jumping in his seat out of the corner of her eye gave Reena a start as well. She blinked several times, but was quick to rise up to her feet, tucking her phone into her pocket again.
The Klee Kai glanced over at Wolf as she stepped over to the door and opened it.

Standing outside the door of the cabin was a train attendant. He smiles politely.

"Good day. I'm here to check your tickets." he says.

Reena smiled in return and she nodded.
"Sure thing," the canine replied.
She glanced back towards Wolf as she withdrew her ticket from her pocket and offered it to the attendant.
"Still got yours with you, Wolf?" she asked him.

Wolf relaxes slightly on seeing that it was just one of the train attendants at the door. He mentally chided himself for not hearing them approach. To Reena's inquiry, he nods to her.

"Yes, I still have it." he says.

He withdraws it from his pocket and offers it to Reena.

Reena accepted the ticket and offered it as well alongside her own.
"Here you go," she said, returning her attention to the person at the door.

The attendant takes the tickets and checks them with a small hand scanner. It takes just a couple of moments for him to confirm their validity and then hands them back to Reena.

"Everything looks good." he says, "I hope you both enjoy the rest of your trip."

"Thank you, we will," Reena replied with a smile and a nod. She stepped back from the door, starting to shut it again.

The attendant moves off towards the next cabin.

Wolf watches Reena quietly as he sits back down.

Reena closed the door and turned around in the same general movement. She turned back towards Wolf, offering his ticket back to him.
"Well, that part of the trip is done," she commented, "Now we can relax, if we weren't already."

"Sure..." Wolf replies, as he accepts the ticket back from Reena and puts it back in his pocket.

Reena did the same with her own ticket. She then stepped back over to 'her side' of the cabin and plopped down on the bench again. The canine looked out the window, taking note again of some of the darker clouds in the sky.
"Looks kinda like it might rain today," she pointed out, if only to make conversation.

"Yeah. I saw the clouds earlier... I have no idea if it's anything we'll have to worry about though." he replies.

"Nah, not while we're in here," Reena replied. She grinned a bit after and added, "Unless I open the window so I can stick my head outside."

"Can you really do that?" he asks, "We're moving pretty fast by the looks of it."

"I bet I could," Reena replied. She leaned forward to look over the window. "I'm pretty sure most trains have windows you can open."

"Are you actually going to?" he asks curiously.

"I could try," Reena grinned as she kept looking over the window. She reached up, running her fingers over a latch. "It's not like it'd hurt anybody."

"If you're sure..." he replies.

"Better than just sitting here!"
The Klee Kai stood up, now starting to more purposefully toy with the latch on the window as she tried to open it.

Wolf sits back and watches her work, wondering if this was an example of her looking for trouble, and then quickly wondering if perhaps he should stop her before something bad had a chance to happen.

It was clear the window hadn't been opened recently as Reena had to work at it for several moments before getting the latch undone. Her ears perked up as it clicked free, though.
"Ah! Here we go!"
She hooked her fingers onto the window and wiggled her back end briefly before starting to try and pull it up to lift the pane of glass open.

Wolf stands up and moves over to the window. He puts his paws on it and holds it shut.

"I think that maybe we should pass on opening anything here for the moment." he says, looking down at her.

Reena paused as she spotted the movement of Wolf standing up. She figured he was about to help and so she stepped aside to let him try. Instead, her ears drooped slightly as he discouraged her opening the window.
"Aw, c'mon, Wolf!" she protested, "It's not like it'll open enough for me to fall out or anything."

"Well, not on your own or anything. But what if something hit you... or you it, while we're moving this fast?" he replies.
