A Friendly Return

It was still the cold days of autumn, and Srunks was, in the park, as always. He was, a bit secluded, there was people, but he was an isolated figure in the cold. And he was shivering like mad, he tried to warm himself up, with his powers, but was having a hard time.

Amber passed through the dried leaves of ripe autumn. Oh how beautiful the world was in this season. Occasionally she stopped to watch the leaves dance, for she felt no cold nor wind. Her eyes spotted a certain red and blue from the corner of her eyes, and she knew who it was. Hands in her pocket, she walked over, raising the temperature upon the sight of his shivering form. She walked in silence, almost seeming muted. And he would only realize her presence because of the temperature oddity. She stood a distance away behind him, watching.

"Ow, burnin- wait a minute..." He stood up, scanning the area to look for the source "Hello...? Is anyone here?" He scratched his head, unaware of her presence

She let out a small cough. Just to attract his attention. Though she stayed where she was.

He looked at her, when he heard the cough, and grinned "Hi Amber." he waved, happily, walking up to her a bit

She lowered her temperature, and merely nodded in response. Her usual hello.

"Hehe, how...uh, how've you been?" His hair went full crimson red, to keep himself a bit warmer than normal.
"Is everything alright with you?"

Another nod is given to him. She lift her hand, starting to sign to him. "I am good. You?" She observed his color change curiously. Was that his power?

He gave a short, quiet, but goodhearted laugh. "That's really good to hear that you've been good."

Her eyes wandered to her surroundings, glad there wasn't a lot of people yet she moved her scarf higher up on her muzzle anyway. She signed again, "You cold?"

He thought for a moment, and finally responded "Nah, I'm better than before." He smiled "Oh, thanks again for giving me your necklace, I wish I could repay you for that."

"It was a payment of debt. No need to repay it again." She signed to him. "Did she like it?"

"Oh... um... she... never came yet... she's probably busy..." he nervously laughed, as he scratched his neck. "As soon as she sees it, I'll tell you. Promise."

Her brows furrowed somewhat upon hearing this. From their short time knowing each other she learnt one thing; this boy was too sweet for his own good. She wouldn't be surprised if he was taken advantage of a lot. And what can she say? She was such a sucker for naive, innocent people. It reminded her of children, and how she never got a chance to experience such a time in her own childhood. "Has she been away long?"

"Its been a couple of days, or a week. I can't really remember." A gust of wind came suddenly, blowing Srunks' hair up, and out of place, but he didn't mind.

She felt none of the wind as it blew by. She seemed to be too deep in thought. And because she wouldn't be able to feel it anyway. "You miss her?"

"Every second of everyday. It's pretty sad to be in my shoes, though there are people who have it harder than me... but to put it simply, I really miss her. Jay's a very nice girl." He combed his hair back into place

"She's very lucky." She signed to him with a nod. "To have someone miss her as much as you do. And you're lucky too. To have someone to miss like that. Others don't have that luxury. And will probably never have it. Others like me." Though her words were sorrowful, her eyes remained hollow. Her face remained unchanged. If not for her closing her eyes.

"Aw... don't worry. There's someone out there for everyone. Don't worry." he smiled, tilting his head

She furrows her brows. This boy was too adorable. But she shook her head, a sign of disagreement. From a young age she'd always thought of love as an untouchable thing for her. That she would never find it and was destined to die forgotten. So she stuffed her hands in her pocket, finished with communicating.

"Oh... well I'm the a person who forces my opinions on them. You have a right to disagree and I respect that Jay... erm...uh... I mean Amber." He turned red from the big screw up

She arched an eyebrow, amber orbs behind half-closed lids inquiring curiosity and amusement. A small twitch pulled on her rarely moving lips, forming the smallest of smiles hidden behind her scarf. Her ears perked upright. Now she was the one to tilt her head in question.

"Sorry, sorry... Just... I miss her a lot. And... I couldn't forget her... sorry for calling you Jay, Amber."

"That's sweet of you. Silly boy." She signed and shook her head almost in amusement. But then she stared into the sky, as if watching something there.

The sun was setting soon.

"Ehehe... silly boy. Never heard that one before... and never had it signed to me..." He looked west, seeing the sun set. "Wow... it's beautiful... and it never ceases to amaze me... wouldn't you agree, Amber."
