Please don't be heading towards the pier, Sandy whispers to himself. He's not sure how long as the poor soul been here for, but it will surely complicate matters if its destination is Nan-Wen Cheng; should it manages to get a boat or swim to the next shore he has no idea what unpredictable thing it will do on the mainland, with so many people...

"I only have the sleeping gun! I...I can use the other charms and set up a 'cage', I think...!"

Wolf keeps after Sandy, staying as close as he can, as they follow the echidna.

"Well if you think you can hit him when he's moving, putting him to sleep might be the best bet." he says, "So long as we don't lose him, we might be able to stop him once we reach open ground though."

After a few moments of consideration, Wolf speaks again.

"What might happen if we put one of your charms on him?" he then asks.

The echidna dripped to all fours, his large muscled biceps adding to his speed and quickening his pace. The squirrel and wolf would need to act fast if they were to down laughing creature.

He continued screaming through the woods, not even stopping when his voice Became sore and raspy, nor when his lungs ran out of breath.

"Stop it!"

He said, it wasn't clear which one of them had said it, but the echidna vessel muttered the words clearly.

"Stop me?"

"Stop you!"

The clambouring and awkward gallop of the echidna appeared to be becoming lopsided, that was until it became clear that he was attempting to turn, a slight left veer in his run now.

"Then... it won't be able to leave him until the charm falls off...!!" Sandy doesn't seem to be mighty good at running in a forest, nearly tripping over some tree root or log more than once. He pulls out a few extra charms from his tail and stuffs them into Wolf's hands. "We'll wall him up... fold each into a triangle and put it inside a tree or ground to form a ring around him...!!"

Using his tail as a spring of sorts Sandy next pushes himself off the ground and leaps into the trees, gaining height and speed much better than on the ground. He catches up to the frenzied echidna by hopping from branch to branch and flicks one tiny yellow triangle at a huge bough directly in the echidna's slightly slanted path. Hopefully he just slams into it.

Wolf growls softly to himself after Sandy's reply, realizing that of course it couldn't be that easy. The charms kept things in or out, and that was it apparently.

A different approach was in order and that's exactly what Sandy suggested as he pressed a bunch of charms into Wolf's paws. Wolf almost dropped the whole lot of them as he hadn't been expecting to be handed something while running through the natural obstacle course they found themselves in. He did his best to place them in his pockets for the time being. Multitasking while running was very difficult after all.

Sandy then launches himself into the trees as Wolf watches in surprise. Now that he no longer had to just keep pace with Sandy on the ground, Wolf speeds up in pursuit of the echidna, who had opened up a much more generous lead on them.

The echidna had dropped to all fours and was moving faster than before, but Wolf was able to keep pace with him now. He'd need help to catch up to him though. If that happened though, Wolf had his own idea for how to bring the echidna to a halt. He just needed to be close enough to do it.

((Sorry for my spelling in the last post, I was using my phone and I'm terrible with those things))

The Echidna continued to laugh until he ran out of breath, and he paid little attention to Wolf or Sandy who were now enacting their plan to stop him in his tracks. Sandy taking to the trees and Wolf picking up his own foot-speed to match the echidna.

The Yellowed triangle of a folded charm whips out in front of the Echidna, flying neatly into an opening in the trunk of the tree directly infront of him. His eyes widened, and a hellish scream erupted from his lungs as he shambled to avoid the tree, he stumbled over the tree's roots, losing some of the precious ground he had gained and was rapidly loosing anyway.

It was at this point that he began to pay attention to the two in pursuit. The Squirrel and Wolf closing the distance from him at an alarming rate. Had the bodies owner been in control he would have breathed a sigh of relief, but instead the echidna bellowed out another scream and continued to run, despite it being mostly pointless as the two of them would have him surrounded soon enough.

He's now directly above the echidna. Folding charms with one hand while he's playing DDR with tree branches is proving to be quite a task, not to mention that Sandy isn't particularly skilled at origami. But at least the thing's slowed down considerably by the tree roots. Maybe they don't have to do the cage thing if they're lucky and spare Sandy some charms...

He slips a shoddily folded charm into the limb he's standing on and slams his tail down on it, bouncing onto the next available tree while the branch starts to creak..... then heave.... and rips clear of its parent and falls right in front of the echidna with a good crash.

The wolf keeps his eyes on the echidna, adjusting his direction as the echidna suddenly shifts to avoid the charm Sandy threw in his path. The stumbling and loss of momentum the echidna suffered through allowed the wolf to draw a bit closer to him.

It still wasn't close enough though. Maybe the tree branch Sandy knocked down in the echidna's path would resolve that issue.

((Oh damn, sorry for my late reply! The days have just been going by so fast!))

Having just recovered from his stumble, the echidna tried to pick up his speed, but the two others were moving too fast, and soon enough he'd be forced to engage in combat, the spirit wasn't going to give up the body without a fight.

However, there's a thud from above, the echidna looks up to the squirrel but his reaction time was too slow as there is a loud snapping sound and a branch comes hurling down on top of him.

The branch narrowly misses him, however his own momentum forces him to slam into it, or as it appeared, to slam into the air above it. There was a zone, an aura around the branch that he could touch, almost like glass, but he could not manipulate it.

Running out of options, and stunned by the abrupt end to his escape, the echidna turned to face the wolf, a dark and glaring grin plastered on his face. His eyes were beginning to lose their colour and become grey.

He once again forgot about the squirrels presence, but glanced back at the branch, at to the tree that was now a few metres in front of him whose trunk had a similar charm.

((sorry for the disappearance im back i swear))

The squirrel grins to himself, glad that the victim's body is still safe for now. He glances down at the wolf running to the echidna from his leafy perch. Something seems to be on Wolf's mind, perhaps he's planning something?

Regardless, Sandy takes something that looks conspicuously like a lighter out of his tail and leaps down from the tree to hopefully drop behind the echidna, using his tail as a parachute as he does so.

The echidna comes to a sudden halt ahead of Wolf, so Wolf slows as he approaches. The echidna then turns to regard him with a grin. Wolf then comes to a stop only a few arm lengths away from him.

Wolf relaxes his body as he regards the echidna. They both seem to be considering their next move as Wolf notices Sandy dropping down from above.

Preparing for the next action or reaction from the echidna, Wolf begins to gather his energy for use. A faint glow forms around his paws in response.

((All good))

Right now the echidna was sandwiched between two charms, unable to travel directly ahead, or directly back. A little to the left or right however was different. He could sprint in either direction, but the wolf was fast, and without his own momentum the wolf would catch up to the echidna quickly.

The echidna fails to hear sandy drop behind him, but does notice the glow emanating from Wolfs paws, and while he echidna couldn't tell what was causing the glow, he knew that it would certainly not be any help to his escape.

His head wilted to one side and the glare at the wolf continued.

"You're too late! What are you going to do?"

Who the question was directed to was unclear, nor was it clear whether an answer was expected at all.

His burnt-orange quills glistened with a slight shimmer of sweat and his bicep muscles flexed as the echidna assessed what weapons he had to escape with. Claws? No, blunt nails were of little use. Teeth? Nothing fantastic but enough to do the trick. And this body's fitness state was a lucky pick on behalf of the spirit.

The distraction is all that Sandy needs. He drops down low onto the ground and hopefully hooks at the echidna's foot with his tail, yanking it backwards to force him to fall.

"Wolf, now!"

Wolf continues to just watch the echidna, seemingly content to wait for him to make the first move.

Sandy beat them both to it though.

He drops behind the echidna and tries to trip him using his tail while also calling at Wolf to do... something.

To be honest, Wolf hadn't thought that far ahead. He'd expected that Sandy would try to trap the echidna using his charms and that he could just focus on keeping the echidna from escaping until then. But now it seemed that Sandy wanted to try to get into a hand to hand fight instead... and that surprised Wolf enough that he wasn't able to react quickly, which would give the echidna a chance to take the initiative back.

The echidna's stare at the wolf was broken by the squirrel's tail wrapping around his foot and tearing it backwards, there was a pop and the echidna lost footing and fell to the ground, catching himself with his arms, but unable to lift himself any further.

The tug had dislocated his leg and locomotion through walking or running would no longer be possible, but with the pain receptors not transmitting information to the spirit, but rather to the echidna's original occupant, the pain was of little consequence. He gave a grunt of inconvenience at discovering he was no longer able to use his leg. He was unable to use the leg, but wasn't capable of feeling the pain from it's dislocated joint.

The echidna was at first shocked by the sudden attack, as he'd once again forgotten about Sandy, but this time the echidna did not forget, and this time, rather than focusing on the wolf, he flipped himself over using solely his arms and lunged up at the squirrel, teeth bared and hands flailing about, attempting to grab him and land a bite.

Sandy makes some kind of soft squeak in surprise at getting shoved down by the echidna, dropping the lighter onto the ground as he grabs the man's wrists to pry them away from his face. From this angle, it's difficult for his tail to reach the echidna... So instead he wraps his legs around the larger man's head, and using his knees to grasp at it, yanks him down for a headbutt.

(I mean, Wolf can still help Sandy? But if that's what you want to do we can keep going.)

Sandy's surprisingly strong grip grabs a hold of the echidna's hands, pushing them away from the squirrel's face, showing off a surprising amount of hidden strength and discipline. Something that the ancient spirit was unable to muster with the mismatched body and hundreds of years of limbo.

In one quick motion, and before the echidna could react, the squirrel swung his legs up around the echidna's head and using them as a vice, pulls his head down into a headbutt, again displaying the superior power of the squirrel in this situation.

The echidna's skull was slightly larger, and thicker, but the squirrel's was smaller, and acted like a bullet, bashing against the echidna's head and causing his vision to go black momentarily. A few more and the echidna feared his consciousness might disappear for a much longer period of time.

He took a moment to allow his vision to restore, but then, realising that it was possible for their heads to gain such close proximity to one another, the echidna lurched forward, attempted to overpower the squirrel's legs and land a primitive bite on his face, shouting wildly as he did so.

The squirrel's grip on his wrists were strong, but with the current situation the echidna would need as much of an advantage as possible, and so instead of trying to struggle with his hands, he pulled back his arms in an attempt to force the squirrel to let go or over-extend his shoulders. Sandy was strong, and thus the echidna was unsure if it would work, but something needed to be done, and that seemed to be the best option.

And bite him he will. As Sandy feels the teeth sink somewhere close to his neck, he cries out- perhaps the loudest sound he's made so far the entire time- and reels back his leg to hopefully land a strong kick in the echidna's stomach, his tail meanwhile lashing about and trying to grab whatever he can of the echidna to pull it away.

The echidna grinned sadistically, a small pool of blood having gathered in his mouth. The spirit in possession of the body was grateful for the... excersise, having been trapped in an incorpereal existance for so long.

But the sadism was cut short by a powerful kick to the gut, winding the echidna and throwing him back, he tried to stand to steady himself, but the dislocated leg gave way instantly and he dropped like a rock, hardly able to catch himself with his arms. It seemed the tables had turned, but even still, the echidna would not be giving up any time soon. By god he was going to fight to keep this body.

Before the echidna could attempt to lash out again, however, the squirrel's tail found it's way around his quills, and should Sandy tighten his grip, it would bunch his quills together like a pile of sticks and would provide an effective handle to defend with.

( OOC: No worries about skipping ahead without me. I figured that your characters would be able to get in a few rounds of back and forth attacks, since they are usually pretty fast actions. I was trying to maintain post order, but I'll just jump back in now since there is a pause in the action. )

Wolf had been slow to react as the echidna and Sandy exchanged quick attacks with each other. He wasn't too far away from them, but in the time he had closed the distance, Sandy had been bitten, which drew blood and the echidna had been thrown back from him.

Wolf extends one paw towards the echinda and a small dome of energy forms, enclosing his prone form, separating him from Wolf and Sandy.

Keeping his paw held out, Wolf looks back to Sandy.

"Is it bad?" he asks.

Fortunately, the bite doesn't seem to be deep; it's definitely bleeding, but the squirrel's not in danger at any rate. Even so he seems to be stunned, his ears flat against his head as he trembles slightly, not accepting Wolf's hand just yet.

With Sandy's own voice still ringing in his head, he'd assume that Wolf just asked if he's fine, to which he replied somewhat slurred with a brief shake of his head. "Yes, i-is he fine? Sorreh, I diddent mean to shrike him dat hard..."

He gets up quite easily despite the ordeal to get a better look at the echidna.
