Pandemoniun (Pt. 2)

Willow had a concerned look on her face.

"yeah. We could of been peed and on or eaten alive."

Autumn readied a spell as he slowly entered the house. Furniture was smashed to pieces, chairs were stacked one on top of the other.

When did this happen? Why didn't any of them hear a thing?

Ris smiled. "Likely just the former. With a little push, they'd remember we're still at the top of the food chain."

"lotus?"

"Heh yeah but still...what are the odds of meeting the alpha!" Recin started writing in his notebook.

Whispers were coming from a nearby room, but no response from Lotus.

Autumn would approach the door, willing to kick it open. Looking to Willow, he'd wait for her to give him the signal and also prepare a spell of their own.

Whatever was behind that door, they needed to be prepared before busting it down.

"Rare to see outside of their breeding grounds," Ris would mention. "Maybe not the rarest thing you were hoping to find, but I'd call it a win, still."

Willow nods her head and bursts in!

"Yeah that counts as a win!"

The earth beneath them shook and a loud, yelp of pain came from behind.

We looked at the brother not knowing what to say. All she cared about was that if Lotus was safe.

Recin jumped up in Surprise. He turned around quickly.

"Oak who- who are these people?" he'd ask. "Where did they come from?!"

"It got past the city walls," the doctor would say. "They're the ones I managed get out of there before it could find them." The brother would nod, his look quickly shifting to a stoic and serious one.

The doctor would then turn to the trio. "Make yourself at home, you're safe here," he'd tell them. "There's a kitchen down the hallway and this room does have its own toilets. Upstairs is a library with both books and spell tomes."

The dragon they've tamed tamed would circle around them, flapping its wings in a jittery manner.

Then, the beast would fall out of the sky and plummet down, crashing into the base of the mountain.

Somehow Willow didn't feel that comfortable or safe at all she was still too worried and she wanted answers. "Could you explain a little more what it is?"

Recin went to the dragon it alarm. He started touching around and swims to see if anything has been broken. "What happened to you?! what did this to you"

The doctor would sigh, but then nod. "Alright. I'll tell you, but not here, not in front of the girl," he'd say, opening the door. "The library would be a good place, as you'll be able to read about it, too."

"ok....lotus stay here with the doctor's brother please."

"Hey! I'm an expert!"

"How 'bout nooo?" the doctor's brother would say. "I'm really tired and just want to get back to sleep. There's toys and games here. One of the drawers." He'd yawn.

"Okay." Lotus would let go of Willow and go look for the toys, opening one drawer, closing it and then opening the next.

The doctor would start spilling the beans on his way to the library. "At the very start, we thougth some of the hunters had followed us and were hiding out in the woods, so, we restricted access to it, but we still sent squads of soldiers to get rid of them," he'd say. "Things started to look off when even some of our best didn't return."

"Not an expert on dragons, it seems," she'd tease him. "Which is why we're going to an expert expert." With both of them seated, the dragon would fly up into the air once more. 

"You see the hunters?"

If Recin were to look back, he'd see an entire army advancing from the valley on the other side of the mountain, complete with siege equipment, ballistas included.

Hunters would be the least of their concerns.

"What does it want? It can't be killing for no reason."

"Those are not hunters....those guys look like they are ready for war!" Recin had a real bad feeling. We need to go to the city and warn the devil. "

"If it's the thing we think it is, its reason is simple," the doctor would tell them. "For each person it kills, it grows stronger. There's a high likelyhood the angels that used to live here evacuated because they couldn't stop it."

"what" Ris would say flatly, and the dragon would show her. "Oh no."

"So they just left us all to die eventually? What sort of angels are those...."

"Yeah we need to go!"

The doctor would shrug. "I've got no clue. We have been trying to get the council to summon an archangel," he'd add in. "But they fear that if they do, they'll just command us to leave." To clue them in, he'd hand them a book.

Its title was simply Nephalem. If one were to look inside, they'd see a crude drawing with a being that had the wings of an angel, but the horns of a demon.

With the help of their dragon mount, the duo would soon reach the city. Onlookers was flabbergasted at the sight of not only a dragon, but a dragon with its riders.

"But wouldn't it still be worth a try? People are dying because of this. " Willow looked in the book. She had never heard of this creature. 

Recin was looking down trying to find a building that housed the devil.

"Exactly," the doctor would say. "This is a better time than any to try. Even if it means fighting through the city guard."

The devil himself would walk out of his mansion. He knew who was riding the dragon right when he saw them.

"Do you think we'd even he able to?"

Recin landed the dragon right in front of him. "Devil! There's an army of heavily armed demons heading to this place! And they are not far from here!"

Even with the four of them, the chances were slim, especially now that the guards were watching the parlaiment hall ever so closely. Yet, that was where they were keeping the statue that could summon an angel to their aid.

"There's not a big chance, but there's a chance. And it might be the only one we've got," he'd say. "Instead of doing what were lobbying for for years, they've just doubled down, confident that this monster can be dealt with by just our lonesome."

The demon would gasp, but the next moment, he'd be standing standing confident and unfettered by the news.

"Margaret," he'd turn to his secretary. "Call for a full-scale mobilization. We're going to need every able-bodied demon we have. Nothing is getting through the city walls and into Pandemonium."

"You two," he'd turn to Ris and Recin, walking over and handing them a ring. "Notify the other cities. Show them this signet. Tell them Pandemonium is under attack."

"if what we are adding will truly help then we'll be successful."

Recin nods and takes the signet. He Began making the dragon fly to the outskirts of the crity to spread the news.

The doctor would nod. "I'll make preparations," he'd say. "Tomorrow morning, we're going. Go get some sleep."

The streets were filling up with people, the Devil's call to arms reaching them already.

"We need someone to heal it proper" Ris would remind him. "Already taking a gamble having it fly like this."

Are we going to leave the kids here when we leave?"

"you're right..." Recin made the dragon land. "That's enough for you. I'll give out the messages. You take this dragon somewhere..." Recin turned taking a deep breath and then turned into a different type of dragon.

The doctor would nod. "It's for their own safety."

A black sky was forming where the army was coming from. Both them and the impeding storm would reach Pandemonium soon.

Citizens turned soldiers were manning the city walls, armed with guns, others wielding magic and manning siege cannons.

It might have not occured to the Devil that Recin does not have a map.

Willow sighed. "I'm just so worried about all of this. What would happen to her if we don't make it? " 
 

Recin tried his best to contact all the cities but he was completely lost so he landed down and asked some demons for directions for other cities.
