Atlas of Worlds (Pt. 1)

"Calm down...There has to be an explanation for this. You started aging right after you got out of the portal..And looking by your clothes...They look like the same ones you're wearing right now...So you did this not to far in the future..."

"It's fine. "

"You have that? You're not going to take my gems are you?"

"Maybe I shouldn't build that time machine..."

Maggie smiled. "Thank you for talking to me."

"Don't worry, I have it under control now. I try to use the skills I got from it for good."

"no you should...You just need...To make it very safe..." "You are welcome. I hope you do find love one day. " Kia lifted a brow. "Under control? I've heard that in court so many times."

"M-maybe if I make a protective suit or something..." Volt said as he cautiously went closer to his dead, lifeless self. "If it really was me, then I should-" 

He searched the corpse and found some papers tucked away in the clothes. The notes didn't have the entire time machine on it, but it did have some equations he knew... and some he had no idea even existed.

"I... I think I'm gonna need Ren for this."

 "I wish you the same, friend."

Ayah scratched the back of her head. "It's a compulsive thing and I didn't want to take pills so I, uh, replaced it with something else," she told Kia. "I hoard junk food now."

"yeah that's a good idea." "I don't think love will come my way." "I suppose a hoarder is better then a theif..."

"Half fof these things are his handwriting, so he definitely helped my other me build the stuff," Volt thought out loud. "D-do you think he'd rig it or give me fake results just to get rid of me? I'm hoping it wasn't his fault and I just did a mistake that cost my other me a life, but it is an option."

"Why do you think so? You have the looks, the heart, the brains..."

"My boss went the pill route for his anger issues," Ayah continued. "He's mean to everyone, but not even he deserved what they did to him. When my teammates died on a mission, the rest of us found him hours away from dying from an overdose."

"I don't think he would...Ren wouldn't kill someone...I think it might of been a miss calculation" "I don't have anything. " Kia was thinking.

"Still, getting him here would be a good idea; you, me or both of us to go fetch him?"

Maggie took her by the hand. "You're being too harsh on yourself," She said with a smile. "You're being me."

"At least I know he's not all by himself in there," Ayah continued. "He's a jerk, but he does care about us."

"let's both get him... He needs to see this...." "But it is the truth. My purpose is not much of anything..." "You're boss sounds like an interesting guy.."

Volt nodded and went to search for Ren.

"That's not true," Maggie told her. "You thinned the herds of criminals a little, which is still more commendable than what I did."

"He really is," Ayah said. "He always tries to do what is right, even if the law doesn't agree with his definition of right."

Liela followed him. "But the ways I've done it might not have been ethical. "There isn't really a true right. Man's definition of right might not be right at all."

"I killed hunters with traps, turned some of them to stone and left them that way. Later I found out they had families; the bounty on my head was a generous sum in the world I lived in."

"Agreed, wholeheartedly in fact, but I trust him; he's like a dad to us," Ayah said. "He had to leave behind his family to focus on what he though was right."

Liela and Volt found Ren and company in the kitchen, along with the bat from earlier now passed out at the table.

"That is sad..But it was for your survival.." liela went and tapped Ren. "Um..Dude something very crazy and.. Disturbing just happened..We need your help.."

"Both of us did something we're not proud of. I don't believe the end justifies the means or doing things for the greater good."

"Please Ren, I messed up big time," Volt told him. " I really need your help!"

"but I do...No matter. We are still very similar. " Ren looked at him. "But..I'm waiting for pizza.."

"You asked about if there's someone I have a crush on..."

"Bro, I have a dead body in my room that-" Just as he was about to make it less weird, someone entered the mansion and headed straight for the kitchen.

"Whoa," Aubrey mumbled, standing in the kitchen's doorframe. "Guess all of you live here now, huh?"

"And are you willing to share that?" Ren was still looking at voltraire. "What do you mean a dead body?!?!?" Liela waved high to Aubrey.

Maggie went silent for a while.

"Relax, it's just me! I mean, not me me, another me. Dead me. Appeared in my room, died before my eyes," Volt said quickly. "So, I got this idea about building a time machine and he-he had these notes with him and he somehow got you to work with him. Not crazy talk!" He handed him the notes.

"Can someone care to explain what's going on?" Aubrey askwd.

Prima blushed a ton. "M-Me?" Ren read the notes. "What in the....Time travel?! You're saying a you from the future came to your room and just dead?!" Liela nodes and goes to Aubrey. "Time travel."

"You're kind, don't send jokes my way, can understand what I went through..."

"Yes! Me and Liela think something went really wrong and that we should build it again, but this time, use a protective suit."

"Hmmp, I'm glad nothing changed around here," Aubrey said with a smile, but that quickly faded away. "I was trying to get in touch with what remained of my family; all I found were a couple of gravestones and a bunch of senile folk that barely remembered their names."

Prima smiled. "Then I'm sure you are in love with Kia as well? Her and I act identical. " Ren read more of the papers. "Protective suit..." Liela got sad. "At least you didn't find a burned abandoned village.."

"Maaaybe. But you're the one I think of first."

"Recognise any of this? I know that this and that is quantum entanglement and superposition, but all this math I have no idea. Like, I've seen somethng like this before, but the way it's here doesn't make sense. What in the world is a quantum recombiner?"

"Still have the book with you?" Aubrey asked. "I need to ask Core-y a few questions."

"well that's nice. I'm flattered." Ren kept reading. "I don't know man...I'm just as confused." "Yeah I do." Liela hands the book of dungeons to Aubrey.

"What about you? Now you know know mine, it's only fair I know yours as well."

"But we did make the time machine," Volt said. "Which means that we can definitely build it again. Somehow."

"I have no crush" prima glowed red. "Yeah I guess but these equations make no sense.."
