In the Middle of Summer

Wolf smiles slightly in response, as that had been what he was suggesting. He doesn't offer a verbal response to her. Instead he just watches her quietly while she continues to work away on her phone.

Reena was quiet for about a minute as she was still looking at places nearby that could be interesting to visit. Finally, though, she huffed out a little breath.

"Y'know, the problem with trying to find a secluded beach on the Internet?" she mused, "If it's on the Internet, a good number of people proooobably already know about it and it won't be quite so secluded."

The Klee Kai shifted her gaze back over to Wolf. "You might have to suck it up and be willing to deal with at least some people being around to rescue me if you leave me buried in the sand," she said with a little smirk.

"Huh... well I guess if I have to then." he replies, "I'll just have to deal with it."

He smiles back at her.

"That you will!" Reena beamed a little before looking back down at her phone. A few moments passed.

"Buuuut..." She peered over at Wolf again. "Are we gonna have to find you swimwear? Or are you down to just wear whatever shorts you already own?" she asked.

A mischievous grin spread out across her muzzle.

"Or nothin' at all?"

Wolf snorts softly.

"I won't be swimming around without clothes." he replies, "I don't have anything that is specifically intended for swimming. I suppose I could just pick something out to wear for swimming if I really want to swim."

Reena gave a little, "Awwww..." and feigned a look of disappointment as Wolf assured her that he wouldn't swim without clothing. The look only lasted a moment, though, as she listened to him continuing to speak.
The dog nodded in agreement. "Plain ol' shorts can work just fine. 'Specially since we've got a place to come and do laundry here afterwards anyway," she pointed out.

Wolf nods slightly in response.

"Yes, I suppose that would be a good plan." he adds.

"As my plans tend to be," Reena agreed. There may have been a small hint of sarcasm in her voice as she replied, but she was grinning at the same time, as though there were some inside joke to it.

"Either way, if I'm gonna smell like wet fur, so are you!" she teased, "So I just wanted to be sure you can't use not having your own bikini as an excuse to not take a swim with me."

He snorts softly.

"And how about if I decide to just toss you into the water and then run?" Wolf replies, "That'll keep me pretty dry."

"Oh!" Reena protested playfully. She crossed her arms in front of her chest.
"Not when I catch up to you and tackle you, it won't!" she shot back.

"You really think you'll be able to catch me with those little legs of yours?" Wolf asks, as he smirks back at Reena.

"Hey, don't underestimate these little legs," Reena warned playfully, "I played sports as a kid. All I have to do is pretend you're a ball and your fate is sealed!"

Her tail was wagging just slightly behind her as they exchanged their banter.

...Or maybe she was just thinking about chasing a ball.

"I've learned to run rather fast when it matters." he replies, "Won't be like chasing a ball."

"I bet you wouldn't run that hard just to get away from me," Reena teased. Her gaze lowered back down to her phone.

"Maybe. It'll only have to be just fast enough to keep away from you." he replies.

"Oh, such a mean ol' wolf," Reena commented idly.
Her thumbs were starting to tap away at the screen of her phone for several moments before stopping again. She didn't make any further comment on the matter as Wolf was making himself plentifully clear.

"That I am." he replies, "I'll have to see just how much I want to get in the water once we get there. I have had my fill of water recently after all."

"But getting caught in the rain is so different from actually going swimming," Reena pointed out, "And if it's hot out, you'll definitely enjoy getting to cool off in the water."

"Perhaps." Wolf replies, "That might apply depending on how I'm doing then."

"Yeah, we'll see how things go tomorrow," Reena agreed. She turned to glance at the timer on the dryer.
"For now I'm a lot more interested in this laundry finishing up, though!" The dog bounced on the washer a little bit and kicked the front of it lightly with her feet.

"How much longer does it have to go?" Wolf asks, glancing at her and the dryer as he does so.

"About twenty minutes or so," Reena sighed. She looked back to Wolf. "So we still got a little while more. Depends on how dry it is when we check on it."

"Well, you could still go walk around for a while. Staying out of the rain of course." he suggests, "Then you can come back when things are done."

"Yyyyeah, it might pass the time a little faster," Reena admitted. The dog lowered her phone to her lap. "You sure you'll be okay in here by yourself, though?" she asked.

"I should be fine." he replies, "I doubt that anything troublesome is going to walk in through that doorway... at least until you return anyway."

Wolf smiles slightly at Reena.
