Venture Forth!

Floating, floating... more floating...

A small, squishy looking creature, a chao if you will, lay on a wooden raft looking up at the sky. Clouds were beginning to gather, though not one of them had blocked out the sun yet. Was there going to be a storm? The chao sat up, he sure hoped not. The small ball of light that hung around his head suddenly turned into a tornado swirl type shape as he groaned and laid back down. The yellow scarf around his neck flopped to the side slightly as he did so, and the small strangely colored orb hanging on a cord around his neck rested on the wood of the raft. 

He had been floating for a few days now and had run out of food. He figured an adventure off the island where he came would be fun, but nooo, he's just gotta be floating and floating and floating and going nowhere! He was lucky that he even had a good friend, and right hand man- err, chao- to look after the garden for him while he was gone. He probably wouldn't have left if he didn't. Either way, how irresponsible. 

In a series of rather lucky and sudden events, he bumped into some kind of land, rolled off his raft and splashed right into the ocean. When he climbed back onto his raft and looked up, he saw... land! Of course he wouldn't be facing the right way, of course. He jumped off his raft, simply leaving it there as he walked up onto the sand. It wasn't long until the sand ended and turned into a grassy plain. Ahead of him there seemed to be a forest, and a river to the right. Did it lead to a pond? Maybe so. There were some mountains to the left, it seemed very much like his own home. He walked a little farther before observing the area again, he wondered what he'd find here... what kind of creatures, were there even anything besides chao? What kind of foods and drinks... what kind of... anything!

"I'm just... So excited!!" He shouted up into the sky, not thinking of any repercussions.

(Equity is perfectly capable of speaking english, so feel free to enter with anyone. This RP is all about discovery!)

While Equity was indeed likely alone, he wouldn't be for long. The Chao may notice the sun blocked out for a fraction of a second as a figure high above flew past him. Said figure would soon glide to the ground and make a landing a fair distance away from the Chaos Chao. The white strapped, yellow shoes found themselves on the ground near the lake. It appeared to be a Mobian, a rather strange looking one at that with an uncanny mix of wolf and bat attributes. Short, sky blue fur covered the entirety of his body, excluding his tanned skinned arms. The robust cobalt blue leathery appendages jutting from his upper back retained their usual curved edges.  The hybrid reared down to drink from the lake, cupping his yellow gloved hands with the clear substance and bringing it to his fluffy, white furred muzzle in an attempt to quench his thirst. 

Twilight the Lycalo always enjoyed his daily flight, exploring the endless borders of the world to his heart's content. Discovering new and rather beautiful places always filled him with much satisfaction. Of course recently, he had acquired a travelling companion who had an equal, if not, greater, sense of adventure and exploration. But at times, the small gray creature just couldn't keep up with his friend and owner and frequently latched himself onto the wolfbat's white furred chest whenever the fatigue was too great.

Now it seemed as if they were at a stop, and the bubbly gray   creature used his vibrant green and cyan wings to float  in the air, his curious eyes scanning the surrounding area. As Twilight stood back up, he initiated a countdown of three seconds in his head, then as if on que, his little buddy suddenly took off in a blur of colors, even kicking up a small amount of dust, leaving the young Mobian alone and chuckling to himself.

"Ah Champ: You're too crazy sometimes." He muttered: to himself under his breath, the chuckling continuing as he nodded his head a couple times. "Doubt there's any trouble you'll run into out here, but I never know with you." He finished, getting the remaining laughs out. The Chao was always a bit of a troublemaker, but it never bothered Twilight too much. It was other's reactions that put him on edge sometimes. But there appeared to be nobody here, and unbeknown to Champ, he was heading straight for a potential new friend.

The cry of the chao cause the ears of one to twitch. Moving the brush aside ever so gentle, a pair of eyes, one cyan and the other crimson, spied the chao near the forest edge.

Her nose twitched as she watched as the chao looked at it's surroundings. This Jackal rubbed the creast upon her forehead and muttered "A chao...That speaks..."

The figures of two small areoplanes were slowly passing above the island. Both left trails of electricity and light, majestically making parallel lines between the island from their view.

But then one of them started trailing smoke.

A dark-tan furred fox looks from behind his aircraft, only to see Zetski right behind him... left arm injured. Along with his engines smoking. Small pops and explosions could be heard from Zetski's plane, along with the occasional yelp of pain. Something must have backfired. Not only that, but he was slowly heading downwards.

Zetski cursed under his breath, and tried communicating though a transmitter. "Zetski, your  engine is failing. You're loosing altitude." From Zetski's transmitter, his voice was distorted and often interrupted by several noises, most likely zaps of electricity or backfires. Sometimes both. "Control panel's fried-... too mu-... much electricity- left arm is cut up pretty ba-..."

The last sentence was broken by a larger explosion in Zetski's engine. He had been rendered unconscious, and he and his aircraft is plummeting towards the ocean. (This just got dark, reeeealy fast.)

Skyler nearly broke into a panic, calling for Zetski's name, giving orders, and looking back to see his aircraft fall. He wasn't going to die. Not on his watch. He slammed a few buttons, and he ejected himself from the cockpit of his aircraft. His aircraft still soared over the island, circling around it in autopilot.

Skyler was literally skydiving after Zetski and his broken aircraft.

Using the clouds from the sky, he summoned a small, condensed pack of electricity from his feet, and used it to boost himself towards Zetski. Skyler managed to breach a hole from Zetski's plane. He was still wearing his oxygen mask, thank god. Still keeping the oxygen mask on Zetski, Skyler started to pull him from the seat. The problem is, Zetski accidentally headbutted Skyler.

Zetski's eyes fluttered open. He looked around in panic.

Now Skyler was the one unconscious. Both of them were plummeting to the island, along with the broken aircraft still above them, surprisingly not falling faster than the two of them. Nonetheless, death was likely to occur.

I'm sorry, my OCD is just being a butt and a half, but just... NYEHHHHH.

It dosen't sound right to use "of course" at the beginning AND end of a phrase. Just a little OCD heads up.

(Don't be that guy, Ty. Also use parenthesis for your OOC posts, please. I fixed it, so the second "of course" is italicized like it should've been.
Also, Posting Order: Me-> True Lycalo-> KK-> Ty. Anyone who joins after this should go after Ty if you can manage it. Otherwise I'll just stick you after whoever you went after.) 

When Equity looked back from the sky to the land, he spun around to make sure he got a good look at everything in all directions. He stopped suddenly in the direction he was facing before spinning around, and looked straight ahead of him. He started a forward march, hopping and bouncing with each excited step.  His yellow scarf swayed back and forth behind him as he walked. 

It wasn't long until Equity saw something in the distance, it looked like a small blur of colors as he was too far away to really make it out well. He jumped up in excitement and began to walk towards it, before spotting a bigger blur behind it. He stopped and took a step back. It looked really small from a distance, but once it got over here who knows how big it would really be! Equity put a hand to his little chao chin and thought about a giant monster standing over the piece of land they were on. He shivered, and stared at the two figures for a little while as he tried to think of what to do. 

Suddenly, he noticed a few things in the sky. He looked up to get a better look at the new things in the air. Equity saw what looked to be a big, metal, winged monster... and then two more figures. They were falling towards land. Boy, he sure hoped they could fly like he could. But what if they couldn't? What even are they? He couldn't get a good look. Equity looked back at the two other figures on land, then to the ones in the sky. His attention was diverted between the two in an erratic fashion, as he kept looking back and forth between them.

(I might be jumping True Lycale's turn, but it must be done in this situation)

Seeing the plane tumble downwards from the sky towards the confused chao, the Jackal moved swiftly. Darting out from her cover, she raced towards the chao, spotting the foxes falling from the sky. Her crown-like emerald creast glinting in the sunlight, she grabbed the chao before the plane came any closer to her and move a short distance before it crashed into the ground.

"Do not fret little one," she said softly, "You are safe now."

Twilight took a step forward to race after his hyperactive companion. But before he can even finish that step, he suddenly froze as his large and acute bat ears twitched in reaction to a noise, one of which that suggested trouble. Even from down here, the Lycalo was able topick up sounds of the static and even muffled screams. His golden eyes darted up in horror at the sight. Champ had sensed the danger as well and scurried back to the comfort of his guardian faster then he took off, clutching onto the wolfbat's leg and nuzzling the orange fabric of his pants. The scared creature's orange emotion ball formed into a tornado of sorts and he shivered in fear.

"This doesn't look good..." Twilight muttered under his breath, not being able to see things clearly. But what he did see was one of the pilots ejecting from his seat in a rescue effort it would see. Considering that was the last the hybrid saw of the individual meant something drastic was about to happen. "Champ, I know you're scared, but stay here." he told the Chao, his voice stern and somewhat panicked. In a rare sight, he even lashed his leg forward, sending the small gray form flying a short distance before his wings spread out to regain composure. Champ glided to the ground and curled into a terrified ball and started weeping loudly.

Bending his knees, the Lycalo took off towards the sky and towards the plane he last saw the canine, his cobalt blue wings spreading out and flapping with all their might. He had reached his impressive top speed of around 400 miles per hour within moments, which would take a great toll on his body and wings. But it seemed he was running on adrenaline at the moment and would feel the effects later. It didn't take him long to reach the doomed plane where he saw the duo of foxes plummeting to their inevitable demise with the aircraft above them ready to finish the job if the fall didn't do so. With the ground speeding towards them faster and faster, Twilight only had a number of seconds to react. Mustering up all of his strength, he burst forward and towards the unconscious figures with speed he never reached before. 

He collided with them full force, likely breaking bones with the sheer amount of velocity, but this had moved them from the plane's aim. Now using the momentum to carry them, Twilight pushed the already breached boundaries of his wings to push himself upwards. He was already aware they'd make a hard landing. But a few broken bones and some serious scrapes and bruises were many times more favorable then what was in store for them. Land was drawing near and the wolfbat fully spread out his wings like a parachute, slowing their decent exponentially. The trio slammed into the rocky with immense force, conjuring up a billow of dust and debris and forming a fairly sized crater. The impact had rendered Twilight unconscious, his sky blue body tainted red in numerous places from the multiple gashes. Those seemed to be his only injuries, as technically being a hybrid of a Vampire and a Werewolf as well, he was granted with the durability of the two monsters and was spared fatal damage. He was alive and well, his chest expanding and compressing with his breath audible and heavy at that. In his mind, he was hoping he did some good and prevented a gruesome end.

For once in life, Zetski could actually take a strong tackle. He was not very good at physical defense, and was more of the attacker, using projectiles, and rarely his own body, whether it may be kicking, punching, etc. But that's not the point. He lived through Twilight's tackle.

At least Zetski knew what was coming.

Right when Zetski and Skyler had been pushed out of the way, Zetski managed to take the energy from the tackle, and convert it somehow into electrical energy, and it transferred into Skylar as a defibrillator to wake him up.  Thankfully, Skyler woke up. One problem down.

"Brace for impact!" Someone yelled. And the trio slammed into the island.

Now the weird thing was that Skyler was on the bottom of the pile, leaving Zetski in the middle and Twilight on top, so that Zetski wouldn't be injured anymore. Twilight seemed to be the only one unconscious, which was probably why Skyler felt like he had about 150 pounds slammed into his chest, but he took it like a champ. Zetski was alright as well.

But was Twilight alive?

"AAHH! What are you!?" The Chao screeched, surprised by the strange creature's sudden appearance. He quickly struggled out of her grip and jumped onto the ground. Then he heard the plane crash. He whipped around to see the broken remains of the mechanical flying beast and stared at it, before looking back up at the creature. 
"Well I guess if you saved me... You aren't too bad... Thanks!" He waved at the creature, before hearing the crying coming not to far from where they were standing. He instantly recognized the cry as a chao's cry, and started running towards it as if it were instinct. He waved back to the lady that saved him, as if he wanted her to come along.  

When the chao came into sight, he waved his arms over his head to get it's attention. He ran up to it and put his arms out. "Hey, dude, it's okay! What's the deal, huh? What's goin' on?" He asked, smiling to try and gain the little guys trust. "I don't see anything too bad around here... Well, uh, besides the big flying thing but that's gone now!" He looked up towards the sky just to make sure there wasn't another... only to see an extra figure falling down with the other two he saw before. Was he trying to... push them up? Either way, he witnessed them falling and looked back at the Chao. "It looks like something is going down over there... Maybe I should..." He thought out loud, then turned back to the chao. "We can go check it out together! Is that okay?"

Champ looked up at the fellow Chao with tear drenched eyes, continuing to sniffle and cry. But this swiftly shifted into a look of confusion and surprise. He had not seen another of his kind since his days in the garden long ago. The fly type Chao rubbed his eyes dry and stood up to greet Equity properly.

"Another Chao?" He questioned at first. Of course to anyone but the Chaos Chao, Champ's words would sound similar to gibberish belonging to a toddler. "I guess so. I'm okay... just scared is all. Twilight took off for that big scary..." he was interrupted from the sight of the Lycalo he spoke of flying overhead, carrying along what appeared to be two others. Champ's eyes donned a look of horror as he watched his trustful guardian plummet to the ground rather harshly. "Oh no..." he muttered sadly, his tone drenched in worry. Completely forgetting about Equity for the moment, the gray creature used his large vibrant wings to speed off towards his partner. He reached the large crater within moments and landed on the edge, staring down into the crevice at the trio of canines, more importantly the sky blue wolfbat. He waited in great anticipation for Twilight to move, not wanting to get close in fear of the other two as he had no idea who they were or what there intentions were.

The cyan hybrid did indeed show signs of life. His eyelids twitched about as he struggled to regain consciousness. Barely audible grunts could be heard surfacing from his white furred muzzle. Not long after, he let out a prolonged groan and his eyelids released their unending lock on each other. His golden eyes were partially exposed as he shifted about, grunting more from the pain enveloping his entire body.

"Ugh... my everything..." he said under his breath in another moan. It was at this moment he was lying atop a pile of foxes, both of which were alive much to his extreme satisfaction. "Hey..." he called out feebly. "Are you two okay?" He went on to inquire  with a weak smile.

The jackal looked at the chao with a smile but she also heard the cry. She followed the chao but stopped upon hearing the crash of the wolfbat and his passangers onto the ground. She raced over to them and saw that they were still alive.

Slowly she lifted the wolfbat off the pile and placed him onto the ground with care. She then turned her attention to Zetski, doing much the same but sitting him upright. She briefly checked Skyler before turning to Zetski's wounds, who were far worst the the wolfbat's.

"Be still." she said softly as she got an herb from a small bag at her side, "This may sting somewhat.."

Surprisingly, Zetski let the jackal do her work. In fact, he didn't even look at her. His gaze was fixed on the horizon, right when he sat up from the fall. Skyler looked to the side, and saw Zetski and the jackal. It seemed like she was healing him, which was good. Skyler didn't have too many injuries. A few scrapes and scars, self-healing things.

Then Skyler heard Twilight ask a question. He answered, "Yeah. A few scrapes and scars, but I'm okay." He turned back to Zetski. "As for my friend here, I'm assuming he will be fine." He let the thought sink in, then stood up and faced Twilight. "So, what's your name?"

Equity turned around in confusion after seeing Champ's horrified look. When he took off for the three creatures that had crashed, Equity jumped up and flew after him not wanting to be left behind by a potential new friend. When he landed at the site of the crash, he looked around, first noticing the jackal that had saved him now helping a fox creature. He looked into the crater to see two more creatures that he was rather unfamiliar with. Finally, he turned to Champ who was standing at the edge of the crater seemingly hesitant to go down there. 

Equity sat down on the edge of the crater, watching the events unfold... though the only event unfolding was a conversation. After a moment of silence, he looked over at Champ again, curious as to why he was so horrified. "... So, who are these guys, anyway?" Equity inquired awkwardly. "Do you know them?"

Twilight found himself picked up and gently placed on the ground, and he used the opportunity to get to his feet, letting out a loud groan as he stretched his body and wings out, although the leathery appendages had become limp; an obvious sign he had overused them. That and a throbbing pain enveloped them that caused the wolfbat to wince with each movement.  

"Thank you so much." he told the jackal, turning his attention to her. "I'm just glad everyone's okay for the most part." He continued with a light chuckle upon seeing the two foxes would indeed make a recovery. "The name's Twilight by the way." he told Skylar, turning his head to him in response to his question, greeting the canine with a friendly smile, his white furred muzzle partially bloodied and dirt covered. It seemed the hybrid was fine despite his injuries and this occurrence was nowhere near impeding on his intents to travel and explore.

Champ let out a huge sigh of relief as he watched the sky blue wolfbat stand to his feet with barely any signs of being harmed. A hearty smile followed the sigh as he turned towards Equity.

"The light blue dog with wings is Twilight; my best friend. The other 3 I don't know." he replied with a shrug. "Although they do look friendly. Should we go say hello?" he inquired, his orange emotion ball forming into a question mark, his head tilting slightly to the side.

When the jackal fininshed with Zetski, she turned to the wolfbat and tended his injuries.

"Who's machine was it that failed in flight?" she asked the foxes, "Many more could have been hurt by it."

Zetski's ears flattened. "Er, sorry. It was me. The engine failed an-" Skyler lifted a hand slightly; a sign to stop. Skyler then spoke. "We apologize. My friend here and I were giving our airplanes at test run. Unfortunately Zetski's engine malfunctioned, and well.. this happened. The both of us can't swim, so had we landed in the ocean, we would have drowned. Sorry we crashed here." Zetski looked down and became quiet, obviously embarrassed buy his fault. He felt that he was inferior and Skyler was superior to him as always.

"Ohh.." Equity looked at the creatures, almost in awe. He still seemed confused as to what they were, but if a fellow chao was comfortable around them then he was too. "Yeah, it'd be cool to meet 'em!" 

Though, upon over hearing the conversation between the bigger creatures, Equity walked up in the middle of them, jumping up off the ground and hovering between the lot of them. He looked around, then stopped at Skyler and Zetski. "It's cool!" He replied, holding a hand up. "I dunno what an airplane is, but the good thing is that no one's... um... no one's dead?" He looked around again. "Yeah! Everyone's gonna be a-okay, right? So then it's totally cool by me. If we didn't make mistakes, we wouldn't learn a thing!" He floated a little higher and tried to position himself so he was facing the group of mobians in a way where he could look at them all without having to turn around. 

"I'm Equity, by the way. Everyone I know calls me Equi, though!"

"Thanks so much." Twilight told the jackal with a smile as the pain from his wounds began to melt away. As he turned back to the pair of foxes, a small bubbly creature showed up and started... talking? The Lycalo was rather flabbergasted by the sight of it. He swiftly recognized Equity as a Chao and was shocked to see another besides Champ. The fact he was speaking full and complete sentences baffled his mind. His mouth was left agape for a short time before he spoke.

"Did you just talk? Or am I more hurt then I thought?" he questioned, his head tilting to the side and his visage shrouded in confusion. Just then, he felt something familiar land on the top of his head. Champ had followed the Chaos Chao and immediately headed for the wolfbat. He stared at the other three curiously with his emotion ball forming into a question mark.

"They don't seem harmful" he told Equity. Usually Champ was a bit more upfront about being friendly. But the large flying monsters had placed him on edge and he was more cautious then usual.

"Hey there little buddy. Glad to see you're okay." Twilight told his companion with a chuckle, reaching a hand up to pat the top of his gray head. "I'm with the apparently talking Chao. Everyone's gonna live and be okay so there's no need to feel regret. Personally, I'm down for an adventure. This place looks amazing and exploring with others sounds fun." he finished with a series of nods.

(Kk said I can go ahead soooo...)

(WAIT. WAITWAIT. CRAP. ZETSKI IS A CHEETAH, NOT A FOX. SKYLER'S THE FOX. DANGIT XD.
Pretend you guys said that Zetski is a cheetah. Or unless your odc will be acting up or somethin :L)

Skyler looked up and saw his plane still circling the island on autopilot, waiting for him to stop it. Skyler then said "Well, we can either explore the island, or leave it. I'd like to explore this place, but if any of you want to leave, I'll get my plane."

Zetski looked up to Skyler's eye level. He didn't want to mess things up again, so why not adventure?

Equity threw his arms up in excitement. "Alright! Adventures sound great! I love adventuring, that's why I came here in the first place anyway!" He spun around, looking around at the different places they could go, before turning back around to Twilight. 

"Yup, of course I can talk." He answered. "You're not imagining it or anything. Been able to talk ever since I got this thing here..." He pointed to the orb hanging around his neck by the silver cord. "And nah, they don't seem bad." Equity replied to what Champ had said. "I couldn't imagine running into any bad guys anyway." Equity continued looking around, as if he couldn't decide where they should go first.

"That's... almost weird..." Twilight stated, blinking a few times at Equity. The sight of a Chao speaking anything more then toddler-like gibberish completely baffled his mind. "Still pretty cool though." he finished with a couple nods.

Champ was happily preening the sky blue fur atop the wolfbat's head. It seemed he was happy beyond reason his buddy was okay and that there were lots of new friends to play with.

"I'm excited for adventure." he said, clapping his digitless hands with glee, his emotion ball forming into an exclamation mark.

"There." said the Jackal, "You should be fine, but you should rest a bit before trying anything."

She turned to the others and added "I'm sorry for the late introduction, But I am called Lyn."

Skyler and Zetski nodded. Skyler spoke first, again. "We should probably set camp first. If we're going to explore this place, we're going to need a base point."

Zetski added, "Any suggestions on where to start?"

Equity stopped and waved to Lyn. "Thanks for all your help!" He said gratefully, though a little loud. He landed on the ground and walked between the legs of the much bigger mobians towards the mountain range to their left. He jumped up and hovered in the air, then turned back to the group and pointed towards the mountains. "That place looks pretty cool! I wanna go check it out!" Yup, great "suggestion". 

He put a crab-claw hand to his chin as if he didn't understand the concept of setting up camp, but shrugged and decided they must know what they're doing.
