Running out of time Empty Running out of time

Time is always such a marvelous thing. Mostly to those who have a certain degree of control over it. They understand it inside out and tend to know how life works it's way. Time was one of those things they never seemed to have enough of, able to make it so they had more time to do their things. But as with all things, for once, her time was running short. Every passing second she could feel the end approaching. Like a battery finally starting to run out after years of use.

It had all started when the accident happened. Half of her soul and lifeforce locked wya into a crystal. And now that same crystal was absorbing the remainder of her life force, draining her ever so slowly.

And oh heavens was it noticeable. First her ability to taste left her soon followed by smelling. And a month or two later the first big hit came in the form of her vision going blurry. By now it was all black. Day in day out she was stuck in this world of never ending blackness, feeling ever so helpless and even hopeless.

Yet there she sat on a bench in the park with the dusk setting in slowly but surely. Melody long had forgotten how she had even came to that place but for the time she was happy to just sit there. Silently knowing not many others would be around. As far as she knew nobody was around, no more need to put on the tough act. Even the strongest at heart had a tendency to break at some point. And this was her point. Hopeless, Helpless and most of all scared.

For once the bitter cat didn't push back the tears, allowing them to fall freely down over her cheeks.

Among the commoners in the free area of the park was no one other then Sparknish. He conduit of electricty wandered around throughout the area, taking in familiar sights and faces. Along with some new ones. The hedgehog let out a yawn and streched while doing it. After he finished his tired action the thunder breaker caught he eye of someone crying.

Concerned, the content hedgehog made his way over to her and sat down next to her. Upon further inspection the hedgehog had a almost awe-stricken face. He remembers who this poor girl was and his interaction with him and old friends a while back. He searched his brain for a name until a he finally uttered the one name.
"Melody?"

She made not a sound as the tears kept on falling, ears twitching ever so lightly at the sound of somebody sitting next to her. Was she given some form of pity by somebody sitting next to her? It seemed like it for a moment until the one spoke. A familiar voice, yet a name didn't spring to mind right away. Her mind clicking and searching through the names of people she had met over time.

Ever since she really came out of those shadows for the first time to hang around. She really had met a lot of people hadn't she? But the question was how many would even remember her.

It seemed to well click at this point finally. The time manipulator made an attempt in vane to rub away some of the tears that seemed to not want to stop flowing down her face before replying. Her voice cracking ever so lightly, sounding rather hoarse as if it had gone unused for a few days.

As time passes, one observes. The fall of a civilization, one after the other, under the weight of their own actions. A single second, a slip of the tongue. A few minutes, the slaughter of another. A few hours, one plots. A few days, cities fall. Tick tock goes the clock, the ticking and the ticking only counting down to an unfortunate fate for all.

Ah, but she was never one to delve into such complicated matters. Live life as it is now, right?

Though the ticking of time passing never did fare well for some, as she had observed. Some were just that unfortunate, a slip of the hand of fate, not a good hand to start the dealings of life, she supposed. Some know when to ante up, some know when to wait.

And some are just that unlucky that they simply can't play with the hand given.

A little eye observed the two, just within the branches of the trees. Oh, she was not one to feel emotion, why she was repulsed by it. Emotion was mainly the cause of disasters and rash actions. Emotions were faulted, and she tried her best to either ignore them or fake them. Faking was so easily, they were so easily fooled. But the tears which fell down the cat's cheeks were not faked, nor that heartbreaking expression. That expression of hopelessness. She hated the term, but it broke her heart. Eurgh. And she hated this further, but she did consider that cat to be a... oh what did they call it...? Ah yes, a friend. Such an overused word.

But as the floating bat-winged eye bobbed up and down ever so slightly in the trees, in the skies, a certain Woman in Purple did not doubt such a word, and thus she began to prepare.

Prepare to grace the below with her presence once more.

Sounds, so many sounds filling the air. People laughing and interacting with each other happily as well as the sounds of nature, birds singing, a soft breeze tickling the leaves of the trees and the flapping of wings nearby. Wait that sound was not the most usual to hear around this time of day and that close.

The cat's ears once again twitched ever so lightly at the sound, trying to figure out where the sound was coming from, instinctively wanting to look in the direction only to be reminded or a vision that was nothing more than the blackest of voids. Her head lulled back a little to Spark, not quite speaking any more words than she had, almost as if she was awaiting a responds from him first.

Yet in the back of her mind Melody was still trying to figure out what was causing the sound of flapping nearby. Silently swearing that she had heard that sound before but just wasn't able to correctly place it.

And so she did indeed fall from the sky. Though 'fall' is not the correct word, since it was more of a 'plummet'. A heavy plummet, no sight of any of the grace which this Woman in Purple was known for, hands to the sides, legs together, eyes squinted. Like diving from a plane, but diving from a plane without a parachute in sight.

There would be an issue with the long, flowing, purple dress, but that seemed to be stick against her legs like her very own skin.

Cloud after cloud, it was hardly long before the orange hedgehog was nearing her destination - the cold, harsh ground of Mobius. If she were to land, her death would surely be swift. But alas, black bat wings ripped out of her back, though how unusual that no shedding of the dress was created, why, it almost seemed to meld around it, as if skin.

Ah but that was not the point of this. The point was, the sudden appearance of new limbs caused her to rapidly slow her descent, to just a little flutter as she landed with her usual grace, bare feet against the cobbles.

That grace didn't last long, as she rudely pushed Spark to the side. Her usually condescending tone of mockery replaced with that of concern.

"Oh Mel, my dear... my dear..." though those empty purple eyes revealed nothing, her actions certainly did as she knelt down, placing a hand on her shoulder. "What's wrong....?"

"Lady?"

She murmured softly. It was quite reassuring to hear a familiar voice that she had heard as if late. and honestly there seemed to be much more emotion in the other's voice which did genuine surprised the cat. She lightly bit her lip before speaking with that cracking voice of hers.

"I am one who controls time yet... it seems to be slipping through my fingers..." She spoke, her hands up as if she would be holding sand or the likes, letting it slip through her fingers. "I don't know how much I have left..." Melody said. A certain melancholy ringing in her voice as she closed her eye.

Honestly what else was she to explain? Other than straight up shouting it that is. But that was well of the idea map, going just the slightest bit over the top. She would just speak when information was needed in all honesty.
