Begin Again

"You never get over something that affects you that way.. At least that's what i know from experience."
He replied, giving him a smooch on he head.

Sonic closes his eyes and enjoys the quick act. "I dont know what I would do if I lost you. You always know the right things to say".

"I only learned that when i realized what truly meant being alive.. Nothing much."
He chuckled softly.

Sonic sighs as he sits in the dark by Shadow. "I should have listened to you when you wanted Infinite executed. I just wanted to give him a chance to change but he tricked us all".

"Don't blame yourself for that. That's just who you are, you keep them around so they can learn. There's nothing wrong with that."
He nodded gently.

Sonic hugs Shadow relived by that answer. "Thank you Shadow however Im afraid i cant give him that chance anymore. Hes too far gone to be saved. I wont stop you this time".

"... I understand.. Thank you blue."
He hugged him again softly, closing his eyes and thinking about the troubles that will crumble upon them again.

As the night progresses and both troubled hedgehogs fall asleep on the bed, faraway to where Kory and the jackals live Dois is awake. Walking to the kitchen to get a drink many thoughts flow through his mind keeping sleep at bay. His brother has done many bad deeds and is now highly wanted by pretty much all the governments. He loves Infinite dearly but with all this heat on them the chances of surviving are very low.

Infinite ends up waking up as well after hearing his brother's not-so-quiet steps in the hallway. He decided to start following them just for curiosity, even if his legs were still a little bit pinchy.

Grabbing a cup Dois gets water from the sink and leans on the counter. Drinking the water he sees Zero is awake and walking towards the room. "Hi Zero", he says quietly.

"Hello Dois.. Are you doing okay?"
He asked with a half-sleepy voice.

Smiling after a yawn Dois waves at Zero. "Im doing as well as can be. I should be asking how you are doing".

"I feel better, even if i wasn't able to sleep much."
He replied calmly and smiled softly.

Putting the empty glass beside him the jackal looks at his brother with a smile. "Have your tried tap water before? Im never drinking from a well again".

"Me neither." He chuckled.
"I'm thankful that Kory was able to help us, even if she shouldn't included me into this story."

Dois fills up the cup with water before handing it to Zero. "Its the cleanest water you will ever have". Looking at Zero he sighs as his smile dissappears. "We are a family and we will help you but things are not looking well for us. Everyone wants you dead Zero."

"Thank you... I am aware of that. I feel like it's going to take a long while until dust goes down, if it ever will."
He took the cup and sipped a little.

"I don't think it ever will settle.Youve caused quite a mess Zero. I saw on the news Eggman is assisting them. Honestly we shouldn't stay here anylonger. We should find a new place and just keep running forever". Dois looks tired as the stress gets to him

He nodded.
"I'll try to warn Kory about that.. She may be stubborn but i'm almost sure she'll understand. Hopefully she'll know where to go from here."
He replied as he now began to think of a way to tell her that.

Yawning the tired jackal hugs his brother gently. "Im sure she will. Shes got a good head on her shoulders....Zero I want you to understand something. If things get worse and our lives are at stake I'm sorry but we shouldn't all die with you. I love you Zee but you've made some terrible mistakes". Dois looks at his brothers only eye. "Do you understand why"?.

".. Of course i do. I cannot live a second without acknowledging that.. Thank you all so much."
He smiled as he hugged his brother back.

"Your welcome brother. We are glad to have you back. Well I'm going to bed now. Goodnight Zero", he says with a yawn.

"Goodnight Dois."
He smiled, slowly going back to his room for the rest of the night.

Despite the problems on Mobuis its inhabitants mostly sleep well throughout the night. The sun eventually starts to rise indicating a new day for the world.

Further away, in the depths of rocky red mountains, someone stood in front of the morning sun. Someone familiar, but someone from too long ahead. His light grey fur flowed in the wind as he stared down at the huge canyon set.. Silver The Hedgehog keeps his watch over the situation.
