Dark Clouds Looming

Clash returned to normal, putting his anklets back on. Now facing towards the... Weakened nightmares?
Did the wolf have light powers as well and he just didn't notice?

Weird.

No time to dwell on that though, this was his chance to go for a:

"Chaos Punishment!"

Warping in front of a nightmare and going for a quick and precise slash!

Now that the Nightmare was defeated, Terry then turned towards the other two 8-legged Nightmares. He rushed towards the one that Clash had not attacked and leapt from all fours and going for a claw slash on the Nightmare's back.

The wolf raises his head upon hearing the two shadowy creatures hissing. He could see that they hadn't drawn any closer to him, so it appeared that the light flash had done something to them.

Then he realizes that the two creatures look more... defined. It took him a few moments to realize that there wasn't any sort of haze around their bodies any more. He was sure they hadn't looked that way just when they had been staring at him. Did his light do that? Was it going to last, as the light he'd emitted was fading?

He didn't get a chance to dwell on it much beyond that as the hedgehog and... whatever the feline had turned into attacked the two creatures.

This gives the wolf some more time to gather himself. He pushes back up to a kneeling position on the ground, taking a moment to notice he was covered in mud now, then slips off his cloak and the backpack he'd been wearing under it, which thumps softly against the mud. He then turns towards the backpack, retrieving something from it, letting the fight carry on without him as he does so.

The Nightmares both were able to dodge, one jumping away from Clash's sword slash the moment they appeared in front of them seemingly on pure instinct, the other that Terry attacked not even focused on him as it lunged for the wolf who was distracted by their bag.
Though the smog didn't reform, it took a while for it to do that, these Nightmares were bent on being nuisances at least.

The Nightmare that jumped away from the teleported Clash looked between him.and Terry, then with narrowed lit up eyes and a demonic grin, it pounced at Terry.

It dodged? Surprising, but that didn't mean he was going to give up! Clash warps at the nightmare again, going for a more sweeping strike this time.

When the nightmare Terry was leaping at dodged out of the way, he landed with his hands and feet on the ground. His hands slipped in the soft mud though, so he ended up getting a face full of mud. He pushed himself up to his hands and knees as he spat mud out of his mouth. With a growl, he was about to go for another leap at the Nightmare, when suddenly he was slammed to the ground by the other Nightmare. 

Terry snarled as he struggled to get his hands and feet underneath himself under the force of the Nightmare pressing down on his back. Then with a final push, he finally got his feet underneath himself and his hands holding the Nightmare’s… Claw? Paw? Let’s go with foot. Holding the Nightmare’s foot over his shoulders. Then with a strong push, he managed to leap up and sweep the foot away with a kick. Now he’s going for an axe kick with the other leg towards the Nightmare’s head.

The wolf was glad that he had planned ahead and packed just in case there was trouble. It took only a moment for him to withdraw a pair of mismatched short swords from his belongings and he then turns back towards the fight...

And sees one of the creatures coming at him in mid lunge.

The wolf doesn't have time to get to his feet and the ground is too muddy to give himself much chance to dive out of the way, so he just raises his arms up in front of himself.

As the creature reaches the wolf, there is a flash of light as they almost come into contact with one another. A barrier of energy, just a little bigger than necessary to shield the wolf entirely, came into view between them for a moment as the creature hit it. It gave off light much like the flash from moments earlier, but not as intensely or as long, now that the creature had touched it. It was solid enough that it might bring the creature to a full stop.

However, the wolf is knocked backwards, falling flat on the muddy ground and sliding back from the force of the impact, leaving him prone but still in his defensive pose. Now that they were separated, the barrier is no longer visible.

One Nightmare slams into the barrier, falling off and back a little before getting back onto its feet and staring down the wolf, clawing at him as if trying to see if the barrier was still there. 

The other Nightmare was getting beat up from above and below, with Clash's strike tearing through the creature with Terry's help... 
It falls apart into black mist, which quickly dissipates... 

One left.
It's smoky exterior seems to slowly start to reform over its body, regenerating its 'natural' shield due to time passing by...

Clash noticed that he and Terry have destroyed one of the nightmares, awesome!
However, there was still the other one fighting the wolf, who looked like he was in trouble!

whistle "Terry! Over here!"
Clash attempts to signal Terry over to the Nightmare before he landed.

Clash lands and runs over to the beast, attempting to hop in front of it, if he succeeded, he'd cross his arms to prepare a Chaos technique!

Terry heard the whistle and turned his head sharply towards Clash with a growl. Upon noticing the other Nightmare, Terry broke out into his all fours run once again. This time however, he wasn’t going to try and leap on top of it. Instead, Terry was going for the kneecaps. He would attempt to run to one side of the Nightmare and slash at it’s legs, then run past it and turn around, preparing for what the Nightmare would do next.

The wolf had ended up lying flat on the ground, but he wasn't dazed or anything at all fortunately. He extends his left paw out towards the creature as it approaches. It ends up coming into contact with another barrier, just a short distance ahead of the wolf, keeping them apart.

The hedgehog then approaches, whistling at the feline as he does so and trying to draw its attention with the name 'Terry'. The hedgehog attempts to maneuver in front of the creature, effectively putting himself between the creature and the wolf in doing so. To allow him to do so without incident, the wolf draws the barrier closer to himself as he backs up and slowly climbs back to his feet.

Then 'Terry' charges in to attack and the wolf moves to stay clear of his approach while turning his attention back to the creature and holding a defensive posture.

The Nightmare was surrounded, but it wasn't in such a bad position. Terry's wisp glow allowed him to tear through the small tufts of shade reforming around its legs, and the Nightmare turned to look at where it'd just been slashed but Terry was already gone. 
With a low growl, without warning it'd start flashing its eyes again, hoping to catch Clash and the wolf off guard with their faces free, despite their attempts to shield...

Clash was quite prepared for the possibility that the beast might try to flash them again, so he made sure to close his eyes before putting his hand out towards the monster, as he releases a:

"CHAOS BLAST!"

Terry saw Clash use his attack and started rushing towards the Nightmare. He exhaled heavily as he ran, his cloak flapping behind him as he ran. He went for a claw slash across the Nightmare’s face, hopefully injuring it’s eyes so that it wouldn’t be able to use it’s fear flash ability.

Caught unexpectedly, the wolf is looking right at the creature and the strange light it emits.

The wolf's eyes widen and his breathing speeds up as he immediately starts to backpedal away from the creature in a near panic. He slips on the muddy ground, trips over his own feet and falls over. He twists around as he falls, letting out a short yelp, before landing on his paws and knees. Instead of trying to get back up, he just tucks his head down and covers it protectively with both arms, shaking slightly and whimpering softly.

The light, the heat. Pure... anguish... 
By the time Terry would come by for a last attack, it was already burned away, a black mark on the ground that just as quickly faded... 

Was it over? 
Certainly seemed like it. 
The wolf wasn't handling that last flash too well it seemed, but overall everything was alright. 

Engel got finished writing a little while ago, and with the Nightmares dead, he puts the notepad away and grins. 
He claps slowly, appearing quite amused. 
"Good job, you three. Quite a good job indeed! You're past knowledge of these creatures helped immensely, Clash. And the cat and their Wisp companion completely counteracted the effects of their Fear Flash technique, turning it back on them. It was very, very interesting indeed - this could come quite in handy in the coming Nightfall." He rambles on, 'flying' back down to the ground. 
He looks over to the wolf, and shrugs. "They'll be fine."

It wasn't long before a low rumbling would pick up. The jackalope sighs, putting one hand on his hip as he looks around. "The frogs will be returning soon, it seems."

Clash was relieved that the attack worked, Chaos Blast usually takes quite a bit out of him. Shame that he couldn't help with the wolf though...

Speaking of, Engel seemed quite indifferent to that, such a reaction was a little cold, wasn't it?
Though, there were still a couple of issues, most prominently: Frenzy Terry.

That Nega-Wisp just fused with Terry while he was reacting to getting flashed, and judging by the disdain that he showed, it didn't seem like Terry wanted to fuse, for a pretty good reason...

"Uh, hey, hold on for a sec, might have to do something first."

Clash balled his right hand into a fist as he started to channel some kind of energy into it.
He hadn't tried this before, but he was about to attempt un-fusing Terry with the Soul Punch.

Though perhaps he won't need to, these fusions had a time limit, after all...

After Terry got to where the Nightmare was, he dug his claws and shoes into the soft ground to slow down his momentum. Once he came to a complete stop, Terry stood up in a hunched over position as he panted heavily with his teeth bared. He still had the purple markings and glowing yellow eyes from his wisp fusion, as well as the glowing purple aura of negative Hyper-Go-On shrouding his fur. He didn’t move from where he was, simply standing in a heavily stooped posture facing away from the rest of the group.

Despite the danger now having passed, the wolf remains cowering on the ground. If anyone was close enough or had hearing good enough, they might notice that it sounded like he was muttering to himself, but it wouldn't be clear as to what he was actually saying.

Engel stood, watching Clash channel energy into a fist as he got closer to the cat. Seems there was more to this boy then he saw during the fight. 
He remains silent as he watches intensely, a serious glare as Terry while Clash got ready to do his thing...

Clash stops for a moment, and starts talking to his spirits telepathically.

("Kane, Carter, going to need you two to distract him while I go for this.")

("But what are we to do?")

("Just fly around him, especially his face, even if he starts thrashing everywhere, I just have to touch him.")

Kane and Carter appear, and with a nod, start flying toward Terry, proceeding to circle all around him in a red and blue flurry, all while Clash is running up to give Terry a Soul Punch

Terry was standing still until he noticed Kane and Carter circling him. The two spirits provoked him enough that he tried to swing claws and kicks at them as he growled fiercely. To no avail however, Terry’s attempted strikes phased right through Kane and Carter.

As the enraged feline continued to swing failed strike after another, Terry’s ears then perked up and turned towards Clash as he got closer, his heightened senses hearing Clash’s feet squish in the muddy ground. He was however too late, for as soon as Terry turned around, he was punched right in the gut. He shouted as he clasped both his hands to the side of his head. Ravage finally unfused with Terry and flew up into the air. Terry fell down to his knees as he started panting heavily. His eyes started turning back to normal, and the purple aura of negative Hyper-Go-On started to dissipate from his fur.

Ravage now was looking towards Clash as he screeched, “You… We were still having fun! You’re going to pay for this!” The nega wisp dive bombed at Clash, only to be quickly snatched out of midair in a navy cloth. Terry had taken his cloak off and used it as a net to grab Ravage.

“What happened? Nobody is hurt are you? Last thing I remember was those black misty creatures attacking us, and… Being afraid… So… Very afraid…” Terry shuddered before looking around as Ravage was screeching and squirming around in the cloak. “Speaking of… Where did those things go?”

While the hedgehog was sorting things out with the feline, the wolf remains in his protective huddle on the ground some distance away from them. He had quieted down somewhat and was now visibly breathing in a more controlled and even fashion. He didn't appear to be shaking anymore and had lowered his arms from their protective position covering his head and they were now resting on the ground on either side of his tucked down head.

Engel's normal eye widened with intrigue at what Clash had managed to do, a small, sly grin forming across his face. 
"Interesting... very, very interesting..." He mumbles to himself. He looks to the wolf, extending a hand with narrowed, disappointed eyes.
"Get up. Brush yourself off." 
He then turns to look at Clash and Terry, his hand still possibly up to help the young man. 

"As far as you and I should be concerned, no one is hurt. You're... unwilling companion had quite an interesting reaction to their unique, intense power. Without them you'd probably be dead, so be thankful they are so bloodthirsty. With the help of young Kopis and this wolf, you defeated all the Nightmares I sensed in the area. You are safe, for now."

As Clash punched Terry in the gut, he was sent inside his soul, and in it, he felt... A sense of familiarity.
This kid was troubled, and while he had a strong will, his emotions seemed to have a lot of control.

He couldn't observe for long though, Clash had a job to do.
He makes his way to where Terry's and Ravage's souls connected, and severed the link.
Clash was then immediately ejected from Terry's soul, as they regained control of their bodies.

Clash had no visible reaction to Ravage as Engel explained the situation.
That feeling of coldness grows...

"Yeah, we got 'em. You're okay, Terry, I just had to... Forcibly separate you two."

Clash would then walk over to the wolf, crouching down and holding out a hand.


"Hey, you doing okay?"
