Salvage Operation: Prison Island

Prison Island. A small island in the north of the United Federation territory. The island housed a large R+D lab, Military Base, and A prison complex. During the Ark Incident. The island was destroyed by a terrorist attack by the Eggman Empire. It has been years since anyone steps foot on the island. For a long time it was deemed quarantined by the United Federation, but now a G.U.N. Team has been assembled along with private contractors to assist in the efforts of recovering lost R+D development.


For each member of the team a document was presented to them with the following:

From the offices of the United Federation President

Ladies and Gentlemen,

You have been selected to partake in Operation Scavenger. You have been selected either by selection by the G.U.N. security consul or your skills have been deemed necessary for the assignment. Fore this Operation you will be given access to the Helicopter Carrier the UFN Jacob North to give you VTOL/STOL along with helicopter support and the Landing Ship Dock the UFN Janissary for Landing parties to the Island.

For this assignment two commanders will be assigned to the party. One Bruno Carville and one Raito to oversee the mission. You are to report to Port Bastille For assignment.


For those playing mercs, Pirates, villains, etc:

Your group has managed to score some information pertaining to a G.U.N. operation on the abandoned Prison Island. The information broker you hired guarantees you this is top quality stuff and will give you the information for a premium price. will you accept?

"Hm, this information could be off use to my res-, er I mean our operations on Mobius. However, we're paying quite a substantial amount. This better be worth the effort, the Unit doesn't like being swindled and neither do I. Still, we shall accept the terms and deliver payment shortly." A rather tall salmon pink fured vulpine fox said in a dress over a communications link to the informant.

Two copies of this letter arrived in the letterboxes of two Mobians that morning. The first to open it was Raito Bolt, a white Arctic fox. She sipped her morning coffee as she read through the letter. Calmly, she puts her mug down, trying not to freak out "the president... Wants me to command a salvage mission?!" She said, a smile on her face "I smell a promotion~" she practically sang as she stood up, heading to her room to prepare for the mission. That was, until she heard her phone ring.

 She picked it up, and on the other end of the line was a hedgehog, 7 years her junior. "Rai, something rather odd came through the mail this morning..."
"Oh, yeah? What's that?" She asked, even though she had an idea of what the letter was.
"It's from the President, and he wants me to join a G.U.N. salvage mission, with you as one of the commanders... Is this junk mail?"
Raito couldn't help but laugh a little "you put your name down for reserves before, remember? You said you'd help on a mission, but never join G.U.N. directly. Looks like we both need to head to Port Bastille!" 

Caen laughed, as Raito heard a knock at the door "you read my mind," he said, hanging up the phone and walking in. "And I thought I was slow to get ready!" He remarked, noting how Raito was still in her pyjamas. 
Raito rolled her eyes, turning to her room. "Just let me take a shower and I'll be right out."

Soon, both hedgehog and Fox were in Raito's car, on the road towards Port Bastille. Raito was just some heavy black boots and the scarf she is almost never seen without. "Travelling light today, Rai?" Caen asked, leaning back in the chair "you're usually one to get all dressed up before going out."
"Well, considering a pretty big proportion of Prison Island is underwater, we'll most likely be underwater in this mission, it'd be easier to wear less," she said, keeping her eyes on the road.
Caen's eyes widened. "Shit. You're right. Why would they think a pyrokinetic is a good choice for an underwater mission?"
Raito shrugged her shoulders "God knows."

The snake Informant nods to the fox " It issssssss the best information we have. I guarantee that you are getting top quality information. Thisssss what not easy to come by. I alwayssss have my earsss on anything G.U.N. Related especially with GUN and the eggman empire at eachother's neckssssss. Feel free to pay and I will download the information to your men. The snake informant awaits for the fox's response on his offer.

-MEANWHILE IN FORT ARMITAGE-
A mobian grizzly bear checks on his daily mail brought to him by the base's post office. He flips through the letters discarding any spam via a shredder and keeping the rest. Upon opening the letters he kept he notices the last one having the Emblem of the office. Taking his letter opener he reads the letter through. Upon completion he puts on his jacket and Officer cap and heads outside where a Male Hedgehog Private in dark yellow awaits for him to drive him to the unit barracks.

" Good..... good Morning sir. I hope you had a good sleep."

"Private. Get me to the barracks as fast as you can" the Bear replied, "We got our orders. Our country needs Southern Cross for a mission of importance. "

The private nods quickly as he runs over to open the rear door of the car allowing the Major to take a seat. As soon as the bear buckled himself in the private closes the door and gets into the car. Driving it towards the barracks.

Twenty minutes later the unit waits in the briefing room in the barracks both human and mobian troops as the Bear takes his place at the podium."Ladies and Gentlemen. The president has assigned the 9th Southern Cross Unit to provide ground support for a Salvage operation in what used to be Prison Island. As you were aware years ago, the Island was destroyed by a terrorist attack by Dr. Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik. Wiping out a portion of the base, however Command wishes to salvage what we can. Due to this is a GUN Navy and Army joint operation The Navy will handle recovery operations underwater while we ground forces Will handle land Salvage.
Please be aware that the island due to the explosion has a toxic spill thus Hazmat suits will be provided for the operation. I want all of you to prepare your gear and report to Port Bastille by 1030 hours. At that time all GUN forces will be briefed on more information pertaining. You're dismissed."

-It seemed all but too easy of a gain that a certain paramilitary force could not simply ignore, long knowing of this place before operations by the G.U.N military and united federations were even set in motion, another mysterious force had it's eyes upon this place.

For this place held something of great value too them, something that could boost there small force only that much more, they were not the typical soldiers or military say G.U.N was. Their origins had since been covered up by time and those seeking to destroy all evidence of a project that became unstable. 

For they them self were a result of G.U.N's own ambition to create something greater, something superior to fight enemies that conventional normal soldiers could not do. However after a series of uprisings and other complications with the project they were left in their dormant stages locked away in forgotten bases by the now defunct Horizon Reach Corporation, the same research conglomeration responsible for the Ark gate crisis and Dark ones. 

Years later this mysterious paramilitary force was activate by its lone commander who would seek retaliation for what had been done. While little was known about them on the out side, G.U.N did have files locked away about Project E.C.H.O which they had left in hopes of bury the past where it belonged. 
However that would come back to haunt them later

Several hours before hand 2 military class assault gunships had been dispatched from the well hidden Paramilitary base, their destination was Prison island, they had intel of both and abandon R&D facility as well as a military base.

Any and all supplies were needed during these times as the paramilitary force only numbered approximately 2 battalions worth of strength, estimated about 3000 troops in total not counting there various other weapons and units. 

However there was another reason they were being sent here which would explain it self all in due time. To avoid any possible early entanglements with G.U.N forces the two paramilitary gunships had been sent way before hand to locate the R&D facility first, secure it's position and find what ever they had come for. 

Only 2 elements were dispatch to the island, Echo element and Bravo element numbering about 50 soldiers in total. Command briefed them on site after disembarking for the gunships before they left the area. Their voices all sounded the same as if they all had vocal devices, their voices sounded like distorted radio tone as if they were speaking through radios.-

"This is command too Bravo and Echo element, your orders are as follow from the commander himself, primary objective is too secure the R&D facility. Once secure all units are to hold position inside and out side the facility till the advance teams locate the vault entrance. 

Intel has confirmed telestatic signature presence inside the complex, Any personal on site is too be neutralized. Echo element is to remain a key positions while Bravo element enters inside too find the vault. Command out." 

-With orders received the mysterious paramilitary force went too it, securing the perimeter of the R&D facility and gaining access too it, little were they aware that others were soon to follow.-

Aero stared at the letter, reading over it again. He had been approached last night by a G.U.N operative, how they found him he didn't know. It didn't matter because he already was planning to get to the island. Aero had discovered that several contractors had Mechametal tech and that G.U.N was responsible for digging it up, as well as several loose ends had led him to discover about an island that supposedly had an old R&D lab. Any info pertaining to his kind had to be destroyed without question, It was to dangerous to let anyone just have. Aero quickly shot off to the dispatch point. ~My only hope is nothing has been uncovered that shouldn't have~ he thought as dashed along the city buildings ~There are some things that should never be dug up~

"very well, besides if you're lying we can just track you down and kill you. I'm sending you the money now...There, now I will download this to our central database, which has several layers of anti-virus I might add." The fox lady said as she began to download the files after transferring payment.

"Remember, the Unit doesn't like to be double crossed. Just because we're not mindless machines or cyborgs doesn't mean you shouldn't fear our capabilities. Now, I must send this to my superiors. Keep up the good work and there will always be benefits with working for the Bad Egg Unit." She replied

Caen leaned against the dashboard after a good twenty minutes on the road "I do hope we don't have to fight underwater, though," he finally spoke up, looking up to see the road speeding along beneath them. "It's a bit hard to swing a sword, isn't it?"
"It'd be a bit hard to carry a sword underwater. Wouldn't it weigh ya down and make it hard to swim?"
Caen's ears seemed to droop as he realised his mistake "you're right. Well, let's hope they have some form of melee weapon," Caen said.

After a few more minutes of waiting, Raito pulled into a car park, near to the port of call (quite literally). Caen got out of the vehicle, taking in a breath of the salty sea air. "Well, it'd be pretty nice to be on a ship, I guess," Caen said, looking at Raito, who got out from the other side of the car, before locking the vehicle. 
"Right... Who're we looking for, now?" Raito asked aloud, looking around.

-With the outer perimeter now secured by Echo element, Bravo now began it's infiltration into the complex. Each elements only had slight variations of either camo or head gear between different elements to distinguish them apart. 

Echo element wore a desert like camo with black gear decked with white markings on their gloves, knee/ below guards and gloves while they wore full black motorcycle helmets with dark tint visors

Bravo element wore the same gear but they were a mix of greyish blue and grey with a pair of infrared goggles over there masks as oppose too motorcycle helmets. 

Upon entering the first door of the facility it seemed some one had already entered the complex ahead of Bravo team.-

"Command this is Bravo 12 we have a breach in the facility are there any other teams operating inside ?"

"Negative Bravo 12 you are the only advance team in the complex at date possible hostiles may be inside ID before you neutralize, if deemed important capture and incapacitate." 

"Copy command we are moving further into the complex now we will check in at 5 min intervals bravo 12 out."

"Echo element report your status."

"Command this is Echo 0 perimeter is secure no hostiles on site we will hold position here and wait for further orders."


"Copy that, be advised Bravo element detected a forward entry into the complex possible hostiles may already be inside, hold your position and keep your eyes open."

-Those still few working CCTV cameras would rely footage of bravo element soldiers moving in tactical formation down a hall way heading for the next conjunction, it was still unclear what they were looking for.-

Aero arrived at the port in record time, as he was able to teleport it made things easier in mobility. He stopped atop a building as he look to the port just beyond where the city building's started, he jumped off and teleported to the ground below. continuing to the port to board the ship through a park he looked over the letter again as he continued walking ~My only other hope is that hopefully find out more on what the beings of this world are capable of, surely they they don't rely on machines all the time~

The port will be bustling with activity as a few helicopters descend onto the carrier with a smaller on landing at the port. The doors on the small helicopter open with a mobian grizzly stepping out in a dark blue officer uniform with an escort of GUN troopers.

He will walk up to the two as the small helicopter takes off heading towards it's next destination. The bear will stop as he adjusts his Officer cap while the guards stand behind him. The bear will look to the hedgehog and the artic fox and responds with the following."Good morning. Are you Commander Raito?"

--- MEANWHILE ON THE SHIP DECK ---

The young GUN trooper hedgehog will notice Aero getting onto the ship as he walks over to the new arrival.
"Excuse me..... sir.... May I see your ID and your papers? " the dark yellow hedgehog would ask Aero.

The vulpine lady downloaded the data and then transferred it to her boss via an encrypted transmission to be deciphered. She was sent a message to await for further orders as the data was transferred and decoded, meanwhile she was to assemble a small team of Bad Eggs and have them prepare for a new mission. She walked down the halls of their facility in eastern Eurish towards the Mess Hall. It was around lunch time in Battlesaw Poliski and many of the Bad Eggs were partaking in their meals. Dr.Daniel opened up a side door that lead to some small stairs overlooking the mess hall as she surveyed for worthy candidates for the mission below. Next to her she would have a console that could perhaps give her orders via her boss once the transmission and data was finished being encrypted.

Both Caen and Raito stood, looking up at the helicopter as it slowly landed not too far from them, right in the middle of the port. The swirling air causing Raito's ponytail to whip around behind her. 

"They're sparing no expense, are they?" Caen remarked, looking to a Raito "exactly how important is this information?"
"If it's located on Prison Island - very." Raito said, watching a bear emerge from the helicopter, walking towards them.

Caen almost felt... Threatened by the bear. He certainly seemed intimidating, what with his official G.U.N. uniform, and all. Caen suddenly felt very underdressed, looking down to his blue coat.

"That I am," Raito replied, "pleasure to meet you, commander Bruno. I came as soon as I received the letter."

Caen snapped back to his senses, finally speaking up and holding up his right arm in a salute "u-um... Caen Flare, reporting for duty, Mr. Carville, sir!"

-Bravo element continues into the complex, power barely functional at all at this stage, most of the lighting was shot, however thanks to the elements red infrared goggles navigation was not all that difficult. 

Indeed the complex was exact as mention in the intel they had received from their source, however they still had to reach the vault which was still unclear of where it was exactly, but with a full element on search it would only be a matter of time. 

Echo element maintained there perimeter watch out side waiting to react in a moments notice too any one who would venture into the area, not only that, in the sky above a UAV was monitoring the area, relying footage back to central command. 

Having acquired G.U.N radio frequencies a long time ago it would allow the Paramilitary force to listen in on G.U.N chatter and react to any thing they may send. Of course they would pick up on the helicopters inbound for the island.-

"This is command to all elements..be advised we have two military helicopters approaching the island...watch out for enemies forces." 

"Command this is Echo leader do you wish us to intercept the choppers ?" 

"Negative remain where you are, they haven't spotted us or have any idea we are here, hopefully bravo element can get what we came for, once we have obtained our cargo we will begin immediate extraction from the area via gunships."

-It did indeed appear some one else was here before even these soldiers arrived, down deeper in the complex a group of personal some armed and some appearing as scientists appeared to be...destroying some of the equipment inside the base, why was unclear..bravo element begins to move in.- 

"Command this is bravo leader we have movement inside the complex..orders ?"

" ID before you engage, orders still stand neutralize the targets on site!" 

As Aero walked onto the ship he was stopped by a G.U.N trooper, a dark yellow hedgehog. "Sorry, I don't have an ID but I hope this will suffice" Aer s a id as handed the request papers to the trooper "I'm looking for the commander of the operation". As he waited he noticed a helicopter land and what appeared to be a grizzly Bear get out, followed by several guards. The bear was then approached by two other figures ~They seem important~ Aero thought as he waited on his ID clearance.

"Good. I have been expecting you two. Come let use head in-"

Before the Bear could finished he will hear the hedgehog salute and jittering a bit when he introduced himself to the Major. Carville just smirks a bit.

"You remind me of a young fellow in my unit. Don't worry. About it. Although next time. Just only use sir or Major Carville if you want to be formal. Now that we have met each other. Let us head inside. An in depth meeting is waiting for us on the carrier's briefing room."

-ON THE SHIP-

Ahmad checks the papers for a while and sees that there legit down to the United Federation presidential emblem.

"Yes, they do check out. I don't know how you passed the checkpoint, though. There was one before you can get into this section of the port. Just do try to remember next time check in through there than to wander off. I can lead you to your quarters on the ship and then you can meet for a briefing on the carrier."

the hedgehog will wait for Aero's response before he shows the civilian to the sleeping quarters.

"Yes, of course, Major Carville," Caen said, nodding as both Raito and Caen began to follow along after the bear. Raito snickered, looking towards the hedgehog. "Caen, I'm sure you can cut the formalities. Ya got me, remember?" She said, slapping Caen on the back. 

The fox looked towards Bruno, putting her hands behind her head as she walked "so, what's the deal? Do you have any idea what the info we're looking for is?"

-With Bravo element now fully covering the interior of the complex, the looting process had gone under way, those items, technology or any thing worth while was being brought out side by certain individuals, they had also planned to ran sack the facility, if their primary objective failed they would of at least gained a large degree of supplies for their efforts else where. 

Now with the intel that G.U.N was on route time was against the paramilitary force at the R&D outpost, while they were under orders not to engage unless directly confronted they were prepared too do so if orders should change. 

Mean while inside the facilities interior was finally confirmed to be a direct link too the past project formed many years ago deemed project E.C.H.O, so they were on the right track. Unfortunately some one or ones where already here and evidence of them was noted they were attempting to sabotage the facility and every thing in it that could lead them too their objective. 

Bravo element moves in, then suddenly what was suppose to be a simple locate and extract mission turns into a fire fight, Bravo element comes under attack by personal wearing distinct blue and black uniforms coupled with other personal wearing black lab like uniform. 

"CONTACT! Hostile forces inside the the complex! Squad get to cover and lay down suppressing fire!" 

"Bravo element report can you confirm the threat ?" 

" Roger command assailants appear to be rouge HRC personal! Armed units and scientists!" 


"Understood command wants the scientists alive and unharmed they have valuable intel neutralize the armed hostiles and continue with operation" 

-Both sides exchanged gun fire as the two teams moved from cover to cover tearing up the lab rooms they were in with gun fire, despite HRC armed personal having an number advantage the paramilitary seemed to have the upper hand.-

Aero nodded "Sorry, the less I'm seen the better". Aero followed the G.U.N trooper to his quarters, after which he headed to the briefing room to wait, as he waited he began running information through his head. First: there were two elemental signatures like the E-models from his own kind, second: there was tech that G.U.N didn't want to lose nor have anyone find out about, third: they had terrible security and defenses. 

The first order of business for Aero however was to learn about what exactly they were after, the more he knew the better. The worst part was Aero wasn't use to the CPU systems of this time period, making information gathering... difficult, and if there was anything he hated more it was having info right out of his reach. ~(sigh....) I just hope this operation isn't some wild goose chase. After all, I'm still looking for Him~

"I tried to get some more information, but command told me it was on a ' need to know only' . I will say just please, be careful along with your associate."He stopped for a moment once the group is on board the carrier" Something else was weird with this as well. Some members of the FireHawk Troupe showed up. That unit is Black Ops, but"he turns to look at Raito. "They were lead by a Short normal Fur colored platypus. She was wearing a black officer uniform and Sunglasses to cover her eyes. She looked to me. Asked me various questions then left."he places his hand under his muzzle " I have a feeling there is something or someone that does not want to know something. I will say just please, be careful along with your associate."

He will then turn around " Anyway Let's head in. We should be leaving soon."

When the ships leave port Raito, Bruno, Cean, Aero, and Ahmad will take a seat in the carrier ready room. The room is sizable enough to house those participating in the mission, but the seats are close together like a movie theatre room. The seats are reclinable, and the side has a small table to pull out to allow writing or a small laptop. The room is full of GUN military personnel and contractors. A few moments later a Captain arrives to take her place at the podium in the front. The Captain was a woman in her 40s with a Hijab on and a captain hat on the podium. She takes a look of those present while her honor guard waits near the door.

"Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen. I thank you all for coming. For those Civilian contractors here. As of now you are under a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Security level Red. If you speak of this information outside this mission to anyone you will be arrested and punished under Section 5.1 in the United Federation Contractor Act."

A computer screen comes down from the ceiling as a series of pictures show the state of the island. The epicenter of the explosion, destroyed complex cover in a glowing substance, and damage to the environment.

"This is Prison Island. Years ago the nation of the Eggman Empire lead by Dr. Ivo ' Eggman' Robotnik set a nonnuclear device on the island devastating the base and surrounding area. The UFCVS John A Roger is now underwater along with much of the structure has been damaged. The salvage operation will be a two prong mission. A team will handle the ground operations in NBC gear. That's Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical for those civilians. Mainly to keep you protected from the dangerous toxic materials now covering much of the area. Please stay safe on the ground."

She will continue going through the slides until it shows a digital map of the area.

"So far we haven't had any problems, but just in case we have three combat units from the GUN army and Marines, two squadrons from the Navy, and this carrier and Landing Ship Dock. We will rendezvous with two frigates before we have to the main event. I will leave the floor to any questions that any of you have."

(A'ight, I'm gonna assume Jared's dropped out of the RP and take my turn))

Caen held his chin, raising his eyebrow "that's ominous, to say the least,"
"I'll say," Raito replied, "but don't worry about Caen, here, he may not know all of the formal stuff, but he can seriously handle himself on the battlefield. Hell, he's a monster once he draws his swords!"
Caen scratched his head "I wouldn't exactly call myself a 'monster'..."

Soon, they had entered the ship, ending up in a rather large room, tightly packed with seats, almost like a theatre but less... extravagant and more militaristic, which was perfectly understandable, considering the main use for it. Raito squeezed into her seat, whispering "geez, you'd think they'd give a girl a little more room!"
Caen shook his head, smirking as he sat down next to the fox. 

While the fox chose to recline her seat a little, Caen sat bolt upright, his hand holding his muzzle as he listened intently. The idea that he could be arrested for sharing any information sent chills down his spine. Why would they need to specify that? He shook his head, thinking it was mostly there to ensure people don't talk to the press.

When the female speaker left the floor open for questions, Caen raised his hand "um... Can we expect to see any... Others turn up? Pirates, mercenaries, and other such groups?"

-Sparks, debris and bullets were discharged between the two teams, course the HRC personal were now beginning to loose badly to the paramilitary force, that seemed hell bent on containing this place for themself and denying it too others. 

3 science personal fled from the room and proceeded too locate the barely functional control room, barricading the door into the area with as much as possible. 

Eventually the remaining armed HRC personal were dispatched by Bravo element.-

"Command this is Bravo leader enemy units neutralized, we are continuing search for the science personal. We will contain them and await for further orders." 


"Understood bravo element be advised we have detected enemy movement in the south control room."

-The 3 scientist scrambled too find any means of communication, thankfully the long range out put receiver was still working, being able to transmit but not receive, a single man steps up to the control panel and opens a frequency too any one who could listen on it.- 

"This is a priority one distress message too any G.U.N personal receiving, my name is Dr Marcus Lysander, former scientist of the HRC corporation..Prison island has come under siege by a paramilitary force called the replicant's, they have seized facility 223 research and  development. We require immediate military force. There are things inside this complex they are after and can not be allowed to reach. We have barricaded our selfs in the south control room, however I do not know how long it will be till they find us...you have too stop them...this is Dr Lysander...out."

-All they could do now is wait and hope their message was listen too by some one.-

Aero looked on, taking in the information he needed ~Hmmm.... doesn't seem like to much trouble. I'll be immune to pretty much everything as I'm not made of living tissue.~ he wait as different people were asking questions, one in particular was a red hedgehog carrying two swords. Aero made a note that the elemental signature was coming from him as well as his friend ~I'll have to talk to them later.~
Aero stood up, asking his own question, "As the red one said, what are we expecting to come up against out there? As well as who am I working with, I have yet to be informed on everyone In this operation"

"Everyone on this ship is assigned to this assignment. Both military and contractors. So far this should be a clean operation with no problems what so --"

Before the Captain can finished her sentence a announcement ask for the captain to head to the bridge.

" Excuse me for a minute." The last words the captain will respond before she leaves the room gesturing Bruno and Raito to follow.

Upon arriving on the bridge the Radio Operator turns to the three " Captain. We received a distress call from... prison island... "

The captain and Bruno are in a state of shock. How can this be? The island was abandoned long ago.

"But... How can there be anyone else on that Island. That is a death sentence due to the toxic environment..."

The radio man plays the message which echos throughout the bridge. Upon the message completion he will turn to the Captain to respond to her " I don't know if this is a trap or not Captain, but we are ready to follow your orders."

With that the Captain pulls out the radio to the intercom " Recon team 6 You are to sortie immediately and head to the Island to scout ahead of us. Report your findings." She will then turn to Bruno " I will have a helicopter take your to the Landing Ship. If you can take a squad of troops with some light vehicles and head to the Island via Hovercraft."

Bruno would nod as he leaves the room to gather a squad together.

--MEANWHILE ON THE DECK--

Two OH-1 Ninja Helicopters and a Kiowa were moved on the deck as the pilots and crew run out in full pilot gear. A mixture of mobian and humans climb aboard the helicopters. Once completed they strap themselves in and commence the start up sequence for the two.
