Pandemoniun (Pt. 1)

"guess we'll have to figure that out. If that council decides to kill these kitsunes I'm leaving this city with them!" "nice to be back"

Someone else approaches them. By his red cross armband, it's likely he's a doctor of some sort. "Sorry," he says. "She's not the nicest person to talk to."

"So... you want me to stay at your room and help you with the spellbook?"

"I can tell..." Willow turned back around to look at him. "Yeah might need help. "

"You're looking for some place to stay, correct?"

Legion sat down at her bed. "Alright. Try opening it, see what the first few pages say."

"yes" viola opened the book to the first page.

The doctor led them to some empty, wooden houses. There literally wasn't enough room to fit twenty people in there. "This is where the four of you can move in, but I don't know about the rest..."

'Welcome, future archmage! This book will take you on a magical journey of your discovery! Grab your mommy and daddy and a wand or a staff and turn the next page!' It was also illustrated quite nicely.

"hmmm well I can sleep outside. I don't mind..." Wendigo grabbed legion. Since she didn't have a mom or dad she got the closest thing to her.

"I wanna stay with gramps." The doctor thought about something.

"Well, we could have them sleep at floor," he said. "But as you can see, the houses are tiny. There's just a single room with a bed, window and a sink."

Legion smiled and unboxed her wand, handing it to her. Great timing, too, as the next page was about the right hand, staff or wand movement to use a spell.

"do you guys mind sleeping on the floor?" Willow asked the kitsunes. Wendigo took the wand and read the page

The kitsunes shook their heads. They didn't mind as long as they weren't cold.

For the wand, it said how to specifically hold it, but the way it was described was kinda confusing, as it compared it to holding a pen. 

Legion helped her get the right position, as it was basically the same one used when holding a remote control.

The book then instucted her to go for a swift swing and that newer wands should indicate correct usage by sparkling at the tip.

"good.." willow smiled. Wendigo swiftly swinged her wand.

The medic then approached the kitsune and started examining them. "Any diseases? Coughing, stuffy nose, insomnia?"

When the kitsune didn't say anything, he turned to Willow.

The wand sparkled, right on the first try, too. "Whoa, nice," Legion congratulated her. "Watch out frost mages, there's a new mage in town!"

The next page then had the most basic of basic practice spells, covering just fire, ice and lighting, each of them harmless.

"they'd been trapped in soul gems for years with no one to talk to...I think the poor kitsunes lost their minds" Wendigo smiled. "Hmm I should do the ice one right"

"Therapy will begin tomorrow, don't worry. For now, just keep them safe, okay?"

"Yep." The ice one was all about making a small snowball, only requiring the right swing and some idea of how said snowball looks.

"alright.." "I know what a snow ball looks like. I've seen so many. They are round and come in all sizes and they are puffy and cool" Wendigo was swing her wand .

The medic leaves them alone. "When will I see mom and dad?" Lotus asked.

"Soon, soon," gramps told her. "They probably haven't heard of you arriving yet."

Nothing happened. The wand gave a sparkle to signify a good swing, but no spell happened. "umm... keep trying, okay?"

Willow looked at the kit. "One day you'll see your parents" Wendigo looked at the wand. "Hmm it is working...I always mess up the first time. Maybe I should just focus on one snowball." Wendigo tried again. "I know what a snowball looks like..."

Lotus smiled and went inside the single-room house, gramps went in after her.

Autumn was looking at Willow, smiling.

The wand crackles with magical energy and sends out a ball of snow, which splashes on the wall. Legion claps, happy that she did it.

"what? I wasn't lying " "YAY!!!! snow balls!!!!!" Wendigo attempred to do it again.

"I know," he said. "I'm just... looking."

She managed to do it a few more times, but after each snowball, she felt more and more tired.

"at what?" Wendigo looked at the legion. "Why am I getting...Tired.. ?" Wendigo stopped making snow balls

"I dunno, you perhaps? See anyone else standing there?"

"Magic is a lot like doing exercise," Legion explains. "At first, you'll get tired easily, but the more often you do it, the more spells you'll be able to cast before you're exhausted, so to speak,"

Willow blushed and glared. "I know..Just why are you looking at me?" "Wow I didn't know that. It's a good thing I stopped making snow balls."

"I have my reasons." Autumn, being the sly fox he was, however, did not list them. Instead, he just went inside his house, a smile on his face.

"Relax for a bit, maybe eat something to get that lost energy back and try again later," Legion says. "Book probably says the same thing."

"grr....He acts like a true kitsune..." "It does?" Wendigo looked at the book.
