Kia tried to hold on to something. Ren tried moving the drone. Prima actually sat down next to kia. Liela looked back at the tavern. "We should go over there or they .right leave us behind!"

The shaking stopped and core started reppearing itself.

"Not enough," The shapeshifter said. "We didn't even have the time to find it."

Outside, it begun to snow. Odd, as the trees had a very autumn, orange colour.

"It's hard to find a portal in 5 seconds" ren told the Shapeshifter. Liela looked up to the sky. "That's weird...but at least it looked nice.."

"We're already lucky the cracks were only that small," Aubrey said. "We should look for any changes to the location before we continue. Last thing we need is a ticking bomb scenario when we accidentally did a thing and said thing is gonna kill us."

"Paranoid much?" The shapeshifter had a jab at him for a change.

A single snowflake landed on Volt's hand, followed by another. They were warm to the touch. "That's not snow. It's ashes."

Lillith seemed to be enjoying the little rivalry of Aubrey and the Shapeshifter as she and the others followed out. "Ashes? But there is no volcano around here...how is that possible?"

The moment the shapeshifter saw ashes rain down from the sky, he knew they were in trouble. "Everybody back in, quickly!" he shouted."The ashes eat people!"

Lillith and the others ran back inside. Liela heard the Shapeshifter but didn't quite get the words. "The ashes treat people? What?"

"One of your earliest campaigns, you came across man-eating ashes. The ones now outside are the same."

Liela gasped. "The ones that turn you into zombies!?;" Liela said grabbing Voltraire and heading to the tavern..

In the meantime, the shapeshifter striked the Core again and all it did was to turn one of the chairs in the Tavern into a tree.

Liela ran into the tavern. She saw the chair turn into tree. "How in the world!?!"

"It's not opening rifts to the outside world, it's just mixing the locations in the book," the shapeshifter explains. "Either we beat it harder or find a way to do it smarter."

"Better idea – stunlock it," Aubrey cut in. "Find a gemstone that adds stun or paralysis to a weapon and keep whacking it.  It should stop it from regenerating."

"Oh, so we're gonna be the pricks that keep using Confuse or any debuff over and over again, not leaving the mob chance to react," Ayah reitirated their plan with gaming lingo. "It's not banned, but in any game it's possible in, it's very cheap and lame."

"It doesn't matter if it's lame! We have to find a way out if here!" Ren said getting a little annoyed.

[Crimson Skies]

"I'm not supposed to give these out till next difficulty, but whatevs," He handed Liela a bounty letter.

She was to kill Medusa and get a Perfect Paralysis gemstone in return.

"No one has ever completed this bounty," the shapeshifter explains. "I mean, there were attempts, over four hundred of them, but no one ever succeeded."

Ayah looked at Aubrey. "Nope, not even me. Didn't even take the bounty. I don't need to be both overpowered and cheap."

"But isn't being overpowered already pretty lame and boring?" Ayah asked.

"Two words : Power. Limiters."

"If you want to get out than I think this is the only thing we could do." Liela said."though fighting Medusa sounds really hard."

"This and a few select bounties also have the distinct drawback of leaving you to rely on yourself."

"Or, an explanation without unneccessary fluff," Aubrey cut in. "You have to do this alone."

"Why you, I was taught to speak like this!"

"And you were taught wrong."

"This is no time to bicker like this! " Ren said. "Just make the portal! I'm not going to stand here and watch this!" Liela said.

[Crimson Skies]

A bluish portal appeared.

"This is the perfect time to bicker," Volt added. "What else do you wanna do while Liela's gone?"

"How about we wait and not have her come back to see this place in flames?" Ayah suggested.

Liela went through the portal. "I agree with the bird. There has to be something else to do." Ren said.

She was on a beach and near a small, wooden house.  The windows were blackened and the door was made of solid steel.

"How about we have a round of introductions?" Ayah suggested. "I don't thnk all of us know each other."

Volt groaned in disapproval.

Liela sighed. She walked up to the metal door and knocked. Ren was the first to introduce himself. "I am Ren Katsu. I'm a photonics engineer and a gemologist. I'm the youngest of my family."

[Crimson Skies]

"Voltraire. Self-proclaimed mad scientist. Technically,  I'm the youngest member of the family."

There was movement near the door, but no one responded.

"you also like torturing criminals" ren said. "Um hello? " Liela said trying to open the door. "I'm coming in."

Volt ignored what Ren said.

"Ayah. Former kleptomaniac, now thief-for-hire. I'm an only child." Ayah introduced herself and added. "Family abandoned me."

The door didn't budge, not moving even slightly. Either it was solid or there were a lot of locks holding it in place.

"I'm ki-" "Kia Apollo Katsu. She's the eldest of the family and a judge. A very well paid cruel little judge." Prima said. "Me cruel? That's just me being objective." "Well you made that one little boy-" "That little boy brutally stabbed his parents and skinned his brother. I don't care if he's 6 or 40. That is something only a cold hearted murderer would do."

Liela tried to phase through the door. "I know you're there. I heard you."
