"A new recruit?" the boss repeated. "Well, we don't have a demon, so just for diversity, you're in. Expect your first mission assignments by tomorrow and your uniform by next week."

"Oh you are mistaken I'm not the new recruit. I already serve someone else." Lillith pointed at Ivona. "She is your new recruit. She has light powers."

[Crimson Skies]

"Light powers?" he looked at Ivona. "That doesn't sound very useful."

[Dogy9978]

"Not like a flashlight. More like she's able to summon beams of light that can destroy things like my master but can't phase through things like her."

[Crimson Skies]

"Well, we can certainly use someone with magic," the boss said and put his sunglasses on. "Consider yourself in for the time being, but know this – I am watching you. One mistake and you're out; we cannot afford to waste resources on a dud."

Ivona demonstrated her powers, but the boss barely flinched, his gaze still as cold as ever. "Still think I'm a dud?!"

"You are dangerous," he said. "Whether or not you'll end up useful will be decided in the days to come. Respect your teammates, care for them; they are your family now." How did he fit in all of this?

He was the abusive, yet secretly loving father.

"pffft. She's not as dangerous as master!!! Master can do the same as her but also levitate and phase through walls.And I'm pretty sure when she unpossesses her body she can posses people. Shame she doesn't do evil anymore. "

[Crimson Skies]

The boss then left, but not before putting the doors back in their hinges.

"Sooo, does that mean we're sisters?" Ivona asked as she turned to Ayah with a wide smile.

"Don't make this weird," Ayah scolced her. "We won't even share a room."

"I still don't see the loving father you claim he is. " Lillith said as she crossed her arms.

[Crimson Skies]

"He-he breaks sometimes, snaps," Ayah explained. "Only then we actually see that he's broken inside. Never did tell us why. Already told you he took blame for my team dying; didn't tell you he was also in tears when we found him."

[Dogy9978]

"Maybe one day I'll get to see that side. Well I hope this job will be worth it for you Ivona." 

[Crimson Skies]

"What exactly do these missions entail?" Ivona asked.

"Depends. Most of it is theft from bad people," Ayah explained. "Other times, it's delivery or just good old fashioned protection."

[Dogy9978]

"Sounds like normal stuff. Have you guys ever saved the world?"

[Crimson Skies]

"Nah," Ayah said without hesitation. "We have enough of our own problems."

[Dogy9978]

"Like what problems could possibly be more than saving the world?"

[Crimson Skies]

"I was joking," Ayah said. "I think saving the world should be done by someone like Sonic and the such; they are the heroes, not us."

[Dogy9978]

"So if you had the chance to save the world you wouldn't because you're not sonic of his little kitsune friend? " Lillith walked away from both of them. "Wow just... Wow." 

[Crimson Skies]

"S-she just believes tiny specks like us – nobodies – can't do it," Ivona said. "But I do. All they have and we don't is confidence."

[Dogy9978]

"You know... Sonic used to be a nobody. But you know what? He didn't want to be a nobody anymore and actually did something to change that. To help others. If you continue to think that you're never going to be able to do something because you're not big enough, then you'll never grow up. You'll never be anything. " She looked back at them both. "Why am I even wasting my time telling this to you two. It won't change how you think. You'll just continue to live your short lives never doing anything out of your comfort zone because you're not confident enough. It just... makes me so mad! You guys can choose to make a difference! To choose to be something more than what you were intended to be... I... I can't..." Lillith ran upstairs to Liela and her room. She looked like she was about to cry.

Ayah wanted to say something, but Ivona cut her off. "No, just shut up." This wasn't like her at all. "You've said enough; first you tell me how grand your life is and then you say you wouldn't save the world. You're a horrible person, a coward and a thief." 

Ayah looked down. This hurt, a lot in fact. She genuinely believed she couldn't make the world better as a whole, but that maybe, just maybe, if she made just one person's day better, the world wouldn't feel so cold.

Lillith went to the bathroom and turned on the shower. She sat on the floor and stared at it. Thinking if maybe it should be time for her to go to the next life. Maybe she wouldn't be a servant anymore. She waited for the water to overflow.

[Crimson Skies]

Ivona went looking for her. "Lillith? Lillith!" she called out. "Please, come back!"

[Dogy9978]

Lillith heard the calls but she didn't respond. She just took a deep breath and watched as the water started to overflow. "please forgive me master..."

[Crimson Skies]

Ivona heard the running water and burst inside the bathroom. "Lillith! Lil- What are you-"

[Dogy9978]

"P-please... Leave m-me alone..." The water started to touch Lillith's feet slowly dissolving it away. If Ivona didn't know what she was doing before now She would.

Ivona instantly lit up and started using her powers to heat up the water and turn it into steam. "I'm not letting you die!"
