Central City, Harbor District.

No less then 5 people had gone missing in the harbor district. Some right infront of the eyes of family members. One such eyewitness recalled:

"We were just heading home from work, you know, minding our own business, when we saw this beautiful young woman in a white dress standing out on the windbreakers. She looked very upset"the man clears his throat before continueing. "Pete called out to her, and she simply turned to look at us, before she jumped right into the ocean.."he shrugged helplessly"Pete ofcourse went after her, he's an excellent swimmer, have to be when you make a living on a ship. But by the time I reached the water... there wasn't a trace of either of them.."his hands shake a little and he down his wiskey. "He couldn't have drowned... not just like that...".

What ever your reasons, you're interested in these dissapearances. Perhaps you simply want to play hero, or perhaps its the $100,000 reward for anyone who can provide a lead to the dissapearances that could lead to an arrest. Or simply, the bodies of those who went missing. Perhaps you're just curious and want to get to the bottom of this.

What ever the case, the local law enforcement has closed the harbor district and set curfews to keep more incidents from happening. It's night, and there's only one guard at the gate. Perhaps its time for a little breaking and entering?

The good thing about being part of the law, and the only good thing mind you because the place was full of morons who didn't know how to do their job, was that you had access to restricted areas; areas which the public could not cast their curious eyes into. Though the bad thing about that was that the law also got their grubby hands all onto his work, made it so much harder, asked questions, hushed whispers. He heard it all, and the silence of night was preferable, though he didn't want that guard looming over him, asking more questions, speaking words which made him want to throw the swine into the ocean along with the victims.

The rabbit lit a cigarette, flame from the lighter flickering in the darkness, a light spark; a steady stream of fire. He exhaled and a puff of smoke sizzled into the air between the gaps of his teeth. It seemed to calm the fellow slightly, once-rigid shoulders relaxing a tad more as he held the cigarette close to his lips, bloodshot chimera eyes watching over the harbor from a distance. It was a harmful addiction, certainly so and he knew that oh-so well, but at the same time he needed it. He'd needed it for years and it was going to catch up to him some day, though that was the thing, he wasn't going to let it. Not when time itself was his little plaything.

The investigator was an unusual fellow by normal standards, though not that unusual in comparison to others, A chimera at birth: half his body orange and the other white. Across his white ear was a row of piercings, and that was in addition to the eyebrow and the lower lip which only added to that constant scowl on his face. A long, brown jacket in addition to a brown stetson hat and cowboy boots, as well as a scrawny figure. The man practically screamed 'sheriff' so hard it would rupture ear drums.

Cigarette in hand, Mr White, private investigator, walked towards the harbor with only one intention - to get this job over with, get paid and go home. And if there was one thing he was good at more than anything else, it was keeping his flawless record intact. And if there was another thing wrong with this man, it was that he had a scary obsession with being a perfectionist. Get things done quickly, perfectly and efficiently with no fuss. It was rather... unsettling.

The rabbit flashed his badge at the only remaining guard as he approached, his footsteps audible by the obnoxious clacking of the metal heels, his badge a golden star on fine black leather. "Private White. Liable for entry. Assigned to this case by the head of the department themselves," he stated, as if he had said this many-a-time. Chances are, he had, "Report. Any suspicious activity?"

The guard was obviously bored out of his skull. Standing idly by the fence gate, munching a burrito and holding a coffee in the other hand. He eyed white up and down, chewing slowly as the chimera rabbit approached like some movie prop. Yeah, the guard was far from impressed. This didn't change when the rabbit showed him his badge with seemingly clipped precise words that might as well have come from a pre recorded tape.

He leaned back with almost exagerated swagger, finishing the bite of burito he'd been chewing and taking a sip from his coffee. "Nah Suh.."the slightly overweight canine drawled."S'been quiet since we's closed off the district."he took another sip from his coffee before shrugging"even without da fence, there's few who'd like ta go in, there be talk of ghosts...". he snorted, giving the rabbit a clear idea of what he thought about those stories"likes as any its some psycho offin' people and we denied 'im his victems..".

-----------

The fences where rather hard to climb and the guard was troublesome to deal with. Luckily the cops always forgot to close of one route. The one that went under the city.

The Sewage system.

And there was one certain raccoon that knew the sewage system like the back of his hand.

Toxic vermonde lifted the lid of the manhole close to the actual water itself, carefuly looking around and ready to drop the lid back on if there was anyone in the viccinity. You'd think they'd be patrolling the area, but no, they had simply fenced it off and put a guard at the gate.

He set the lid aside and climbed out of the manhole, swishing his long fluffy tail a little to get rid of stray droplets. Ok, so it wasn't exactly minty fresh down there, but he was in easily and he'd wash himself thoroughly after. 100,000 was an amount of money he could really use and very much worth the hassle.

Was he scared?
Nah...

Should he be?
Prrooooobably

Jonathan White was about impressed with the guard as the guard was about him. There was just this amazing stench of 'not caring' in the air that it was almost hilarious, and the split second the guard was finished with his irritating drawl, the investigator stormed right on past the guard and into the restricted area, not willing to waste time with idle talk. So, ghosts then. That, or people have been sneaking in for that reward and they've been dead from their pathetic hero-inspired adventures. Child's play. It was almost hilarious.

But they weren't professionals, and this rabbit was. He'd done worse. He'd been through worse. And a little prankster of a murderer was hardly something challenging to him. White ground the butt of his cigarette against the nearest brick wall, after one final puff which he could get out of it, rather dissatisfied that that was all he could get from it. Flicking it to the floor idly, he examined the scene before him.

Any stupid person would go for the docks. Any stupid person would go in for a swim and try and find the bodies. But considering the danger of that, even he wasn't stupid enough to do something that moronic. Best check out the area around first, before examining the scene of the crime. Find clues. Snagged clothing. Traces of blood. Footprints.

And probably in the close future, a certain radioactive raccoon.

Unfortunately for jonathan White, there were no such traces, of forensics would have found them already in their sweeps and taped the place off and what not. What little blood there could have been would have been near the waters edge. Washed away with the coming and goings of the tide and its cleansing salt waters.

Toxic wasn't an idiot either. He was staying well away from the water himself. Everyone of the victems seemed to have gone into the water before they dissapeared, So he wasn't about to jump in or something to look for bodies. If they were still in the water they would wash up eventualy..

No, he was hoping to catch a glimpse of the mystery woman witnesses had been talking about. People had been talking about a woman in white. Which from what he learned was a ghost from spanish folklore, created when a woman drowned her chilren in an act of revenge against her husband and killed herself. But traditionally these kinds of ghosts only made children dissapear and most of the victems had been grown man.

His ears twitched as they picked up the sound of White's metal heels on the pavement. While not aware that it was the rabbit per say, he immidiatly lunged into a nearby alley to crouch behind one of the dumpsters. He had no intention of being caught snooping around in an off limmits area. They might try to peg the dissapearances on him. Lord knew he had enough of a track record for them to arrest him.

Fortunately the guy had been wearing those annoyingly loud shoes. Seriously who the hell wore shoes like that? they sucked if you needed the element of surprise

Finding no evidence; nothing out of place; no blood; no shoes or torn clothing or signs of a struggle was a little... concerning. Well, less concerning and more bothersome actually, considering that didn't leave anything to go by. To look through the facts, victims simply vanished. A few eyewitnesses stated that they saw a woman before their 'deaths'. One dove into the water and was never found, after a woman who jumped into the ocean. Honestly, he wanted to find her. All evidence, or lack of it thereof, was pointing to her.

White didn't really need to be stealthy. The element of surprise was something he could easily handle. His shoes clacked against the pavement, leaving a slight distant echo seconds after, passing a darkened alleyway with a rather annoyed expression across his unusual face. Glancing over to the distant waters, the rabbit paused for just a moment to reach into his pocket and get his lighter to have another smoke. The flame flickered to life in his gloved fingertips, the cigarette giving off a gentle wavering smoke once more.

Now he said to himself that he wouldn't, but work was stressful. Last time today. Possibly.

And as the rabbit walked past the dark alley and lit up his cigaret, the fire illuminating his face, Toxic just couldn't quite stop himself from uttering an oath"Oh you've got to be kidding me...". Of all the rotten luck, he had to bump into white on this. Well if he'd staid quiet he could have probably avoided a confrontation with the rabbit, but that was now probably impossible.

He didn't like white and he was pretty certain the feeling was entirely mutual. It would just be his luck that the rabbit would shoot first and ask questions later so he quickly moved from his spot, one hand on his belt pouch with his explosives. He didn't want to use them now especially as they might draw attention from the guard and the police would end up swarming the place. Besides White had some nasty powers and he wasn't set up to deal with them.

Probably lucky for him then, that out of nowhere, the woman was standing on the pier, seeming to look in their direction with her head cocked quizically. She was a fox of purest white and her hair was the same color, falling in cascading ringlets down to her long luxuriant tail, her fur glowing in the moonlight. She was undoubtably beautiful, perhaps unaturally so.

There she was. Matched the description perfectly. What a fortunate and suspicious coincidence that was, that she would be there has his head was turned, glancing over the water's edge and noticing such a lovely lady looking at him. Though she was neither in trouble, nor drowned, nor dead, and certainly didn't seem to be injured in any way. Her clothes were not wet, her body perfect and flourished unlike the assumed corpses of the victims to this case.

The investigator slowly blew a puff of smoke high into the air before turning to walk towards her, ask her a few questions. Cautiously, no doubt. Keeping distance. If he got any closer she'd probably jump in and 'drown'. And fortunately for the raccoon, her sudden and surprising appearance was distraction enough to allow the little muttered oath to fly by.

Step step. Clack clack. He approached the inquisitive fox woman a distance apart. His eyes locked onto her position as he began to speak in that to-the-point tone. How he hated wasting time; "Explain yourself. Don't play games with me." Sympathies: 0

A certain light brown echidna was staring at the huge walls that loomed over her willing for them to fall down and crumble to ash...Okay that's enough waiting. The echidna began to walk around to see if she could find a way in there. She wasn't here to play hero or for the money, but to see if this case had anything to do with curses, magical creatures and such.If it was a curse she could most likely do nothing about it due to the fact she was terrible at those, but if it was a creature she might be able to find a way for it to stop kidnapping people worse case scenario she would be killed, best she discovers a new magical creature and gets 10,000 rings. Not a bad deal in her opinion.
The echidna looked down the way to where that fat security guard was,it was dumb luck he had not seen or heard her.Determined to get out before the luck ran out she glanced over to the covered man hole, why are they called man holes?...anyway.Ollie noted how it was slightly ajar and lifted up the lid.Looking back at the security guard whom seemed to be about to look over at her direction. This was it!Holding her nose she jumped in the lid fell and clattered noisily back into place.
Now in compete darkness she scrambled through the stinky pipe feeling around the ceiling for another opening. The water was drenching her boots, pants, and the hem of her coat"Ewwww"The brown echidna was close to barfing from how gross it was down here.Suddenly her hand felt across the lid of a manhole. She lifted it up and scrambled out of the hole panting.
The echidna then proceeded to ring the water out of her coat and pants while running to a place to hide. She came across a barrel..WHy not?Jumping into it she then took off her gross boots and tossed them away. Now to wait..
