Fire and Ice: Opposites attract

"Then maybe we should make a calander. And we switch cooking each day" he said

Roxanne smiled. "Alright." She placed the bowl back on the bedside table when he was finished. "Anything else you want?"

"Hmm I know a certain raccoon I want with me while I rest" he said grinning a little. He lay back down looking tired. "And remind me to beat giro to a pulp"

She grinned at him, probably a little giddy as she rolled herself over him so her front was resting on his chest. It wasn't a big pressure, she made sure of that as she nuzzled into him, heading resting on his shoulder and in the crook of his neck. She wished she could sleep like this all the time. "I'll be here, watching over you.." She said softly.

"Thank you my guardian angel" he said slowly drifting into sleep

Roxanne smiled, falling asleep with him to the slow rise and fall of his chest.

The next morning Maxus wasn't in bed. And Roxanne was in the room alone. However the shower was running.

Roxanne felt incredibly fatigued, so she slept longer, only she realised later she'd slept all the way through to midday. She was now at least a month pregnant and she still couldn't keep on top of her symptoms. She wondered when they would be able to tell if it was a boy or a girl.

Maxus walke in with a tray. "Hey honey. We have your ultrasound today. I brought you breakfast.

She groaned as she pulled the covers over herself. She was so tired. "No..." she groaned louder, a little muffled under the covers.

"Roxy you got to eat something and we have to go to your ultra sound in two hours" he said setting the tray down

Roxanne turned under the covers, as she groaned again. She protested getting out of bed at all at this point, appointment or no appointment. She didn't feel like eating either, despite how good the smell was.

"Give me 6 more hours...." she moaned.

"Roxy this is our chance to find out if our baby is a boy or a girl. You have an hour" he said walking out to pack a bag.

She made an irritated noise before she threw the covers off of her. Roxanne knew how tired she must have looked as she sat up, rubbing her eyes and yawning, as she watched him pack.

"Alright...I'm up. Just." she yawned.

We leave in an hour. I want you to at least eat something before we go."

"Ok." she huffed, quickly scoffing down the breakfast before getting dressed. After that, she realised she needed a shower too, so she walked to the bathroom to freshen up, as well as wake herself up.

Maxus sighed she was becoming more and more difficult. But he was glad she hadn't started the mood swings.

Roxanne came back in, drying off her fur before she headed downstairs to watch TV, just, something to do for a whole hour. She was tired and acting a little cranky, she knew that, but she couldn't help it.

Maxus walked down. Settin the bag down. "We have thirty minutes before we go.. Is there anything you want?"

She looked at him and shook her head. Just sleep, she thought sourly.

She continued watching the programme she absolutely had no interest in. It was just there.

Max sat there thinking and waiting till they had to leave. He helped Roxanne to the car and the drove for the hospital

No surprise that she fell asleep in the car on the way there. She couldn't help but wonder which gender it was. She wouldn't be disappointed with either one of course, she was just curious, much like Maxus. She still had a feeling it was a boy.

Maxus just kept driving. He had to get there on time.  They got to the hospital and checked in and sat in the waiting room

She began tapping her fingers on her knees impatiently, nervous for some weird reason. She looked to Maxus, then glanced back at some of the empty chairs around them.

"Roxanne raccoon" called one of the nurses. "You and your boyfriend can com back now
