Fire and Ice: Opposites attract

She shook her head. "No, it's not. Hey you're not going anywhere by the way, you need rest first." She explained, pushing him back down on the bed gently.

Maxus sighed. "Alright... I'll rest. But could you lay with me?" He asked holding her hand.

Roxanne's features softened, glancing down at his hand holding hers. "Of course." she nodded before carefully manoeuvring herself to settle beside him. She placed a gentle hand on his chest as she hummed quietly.

Maxus held her close to him. "After years of being alone, after years of hating myself. You came in and brightened my life..." He suddenly said. "If give anything to make you happy. Cause you make me smile just by being with me"

Roxanne smiled in fondness, tracing a finger down his chest. She felt the same and maybe more. He was almost like her saving grace. That had her thinking...a thought coming back to her out of nowhere.

"How does it feel to be starting a family with the guardian angel of your village?" she asked, exhaling softly.

Maxus looks to her smiling. "Depends how does the guardian judge me" he asked. "Am I damned to an eternal hell? Or am I pure?"

Roxanne grinned, leaning her head on her hand to look down at him. "I think I'm able to save you from the eternal fires." she teased, "You may have sinned at some point but you're pure to me." she smiled again before leaning down to kiss him filthily, tongue trying to wrestle with his.

Maxus smiled as he kissed back. "Then by all means save me my sweet enchantress" he said pulling her closer.

Roxanne chuckled low and seductively, before breaking the kiss by leaning back. He looked confused for a moment, so she elaborated.

"Not until you've had a rest, mister." she teased, dragging her finger down his lips that were still wet.

Maxus Smirked. "You torment me sometimes you know that" he said laying there. He groaned a little. "If I hadn't been stupid and freaked when I did I wouldn't be like this.

Roxanne acted innocent, "I can't help it if I'm so irresistible to you." she said sweetly before glancing down at him. "On one hand I want to say you over reacted, but on the other, there was a high chance of me not making through the operation..." she shrugged, sauntering around the room before taking the glass to give him a refill, returning with the water and placing it on the bedside table. She sat on the bed again.

Maxus sighed. "I got protective. And wanted to smash giro's head in. He had one of his robots hold me back. That didn't last long."

"I am kind of glad you cared that much, it's one of those selfish feelings." she clarified, before looking at the wall absentmindedly, "At least I have an idea what you'll be like when I'm actually having the baby."

Maxus sighed. "At least I'll be there with you. I won't tear the doctor's head off unless I have to" he said

Roxanne snorted. "Nice to know you'll restrain yourself." she then stepped off the bed. "I can make you some soup if you want?"

Maxus looked to her. "Yes please.." He said looking like he was deep in thought.

She nodded, "Anything in particular?" she asked, making her way out of the bedroom, but still looked in his direction as she walked past him.

Surprise me" he said smiling. But then he gazed at the ceiling in deep thought

Roxanne was hesitant, but she nodded as she went downstairs to prepare. She'd thought she'd go for potato and leek. Thankfully, she still remembered how to do it. She started to chop the leek and retrieved a single potato.

Maxus sighed. "Hopefully I can control myself"

She heated it twice, stirring the mix one last time before she poured the contents into a bowl. She poured the rest into a container and stored it in the fridge, to save for later. She got a spoon and went upstairs.

"Hope you don't mind this. It's leek and potato - made it myself." she said as she placed the bowl on the side.

Maxus smiled. "Thanks sweetie" he said sitting up to eat the soup he smiled as he put a spoonful into his mouth. "Mmm, this is good" he said slurping it down "your a better cook than me."

Roxanne blushed as she smiled shyly. "I don't know about that." She watched for a moment, before sitting on the bed with him again. "Glad it's okay."

He smiled. " it's better than just ok" he said kissing her cheek

She smiled. "Thank you. I've wanted to cook for you again for a while." She leant next to him, against the pillows.
