Fire and Ice: Opposites attract

Maxus smiled holding leoric in his arms. "Hello little one." He said leoric just looking at him with his curious eyes.

Emily took Tyler. "Mom dad why don't you go say Hi" 

The elderly male, leoric senior, walked over and sat in the chair. "Why hello Roxanne. Or should i say my future daughter in law?"

Roxanne suddenly felt anxious. Meet the parents is always something she was nervous about.

"Hi...it's nice to meet you." she quietly, eyes weary but she still smiled slightly.

Leoric smiled. "No need to be frightened of me dear."

"Oh leoric stop your really scaring the child." His wife said

"Lenora I'm doing just fine" 

"Mom dad please" Maxus said. "Do you want to make leoric cry?"

Leoric looked like he was getting upset, Maxus started to cradle him rockin him a little. "Shh it's ok Leo daddy's here"

Roxanne grimaced as she tried to sit up more, but she was encouraged to lay back by Emilia.

"Sorry, I don't mean anything by it, it's just this whole thing's new to me." she said, before adding. "Besides, how me and Maxus met is not really one that usually ends like this."

Yeah, since she spent most of her time trying to kill him...

Leoric senior smiled. "I've always had my eye on Maxus. I know what's been going on roxy"

Lenora smiled. "Emilia explained everything"

She suddenly felt uncomfortable. "Oh.." She said as she shifted slightly, before yawning.

Leoric senior smiled. "It's alright. We don't hate you"

Lenora looked to her son. "Maximus primos you young man should have treated this young lady better" 

Max tenced. "Mom..."

'How? How can you not hate me?' She thought. She then looked confused at Maxus' mothers words. Surely Roxanne should be the one scolded at.

Maxus looked to her. "My dad's motto... We're all one big family on mobius. And being family is to forgive and forget"

"Glad my teachings are still being used." Leoric senior said

Roxanne looked down at the floor in shame. Not wanting to look at them. They learnt to forgive and she had abused that several times.

Lenora smiled. "Ruby, your daughter is way too hard on herself" she said lookin behind her. "Maybe you can cheer her up?"

Leoric started to get fussy. "Ok I'll give you back to momma" Maxus said. "I think he wants you roxy."

Ruby grinned as she approached. "You were always hard on yourself." she said.

Roxanne took Leoric from Maxus and was surprised that he stilled instantly, closing his eyes again a few seconds later. No, scratch that, she was shocked.

Ruby chuckled as she saw how her son calmed in her arms. She looked up at her. "Why focus on what you did in the past, when you've got one hell of a future in store?" she asked, gesturing to Leoric like it was obvious.

Roxanne stared at her for a moment, suddenly emotional before she nodded. "I guess so."

Ruby said nothing, but only grinned lovingly.

Maxus smiled. He kissed her forehead.

Lenora smiled. "Brings back some wonderful memories."

Azrael and his family walked in moments later. Max was at the bedside instantly so he could se the new baby.

Ruby noticed the others come and she moved out of the way so they could approach. She stood with Maxus' parents and smiled.

Roxanne cradled Leoric in her arms as she looked up at the eager and curious Max. "Hello, you." she greeted as she smiled.

"Is that my new baby cousin?" Max asked curiously. "He's so small"

Maxus chuckled. "I remember a young fox who was that small once" 

Cilia smiled. "He's so adorable"

Roxanne smiled as she held him. "Yeah." she agreed, glancing down at him, before she offered Cilia to hold him if she wanted to.
