The Plague (open)

It all started with a few murders around the forest outside of Empire City, a series of bizarre disappearances near a prison that was located on the outskirts of the city appeared in the news as people not only have began to vanish, but strange reports of bizarre monstrous like beings cam up. Many in the metropolitan area simply shrugged this off as a hoax or some sort of trafficking operation, that was until the Pier 27 incident

The news headlines were all over, a group of hijackers have apparently taken over a transport ship coming from outside the city inwards. The terrorists seem to have unleashed a bizarre like bio-weapon upon the people at the docks and the situation was rapidly deteriorating. A police unit was sent in, but they didn't report back on the situation. With all this going about a police blockade of the port was taking place.

The day had been uneventful for Xavier. It was boring, watching chaos wreak havoc on the streets through cameras. He was currently on Prison Island. To alot of people, it was one of the safest places to be. That was true unless you were a criminal. Xavier hated to think of this place being crowded with strange people who are desperate for safety.

He got up from his chair, grabbed his lab coat and headed outside.

Once outside, He took a deep breath as he looked up at the sky. He looked back at the door that led inside and then made his decision.

He got a ride into the city, even though it was rather difficult. Yes. The truth was, he'd rather be out here than trapped on that island with no one to talk too but stuffy soldiers and know-it-all scientists. Not to mention his boss, whom he despised. He smiled to himself and then began to walk.

Human police cars blockaded the docks. Everyone in the surrounding area was relocated for the time being as the police force awaited signal from the first police unit. However that word never came and soon the commissioner in charge of the units in this section of the city ordered the blockading police cars to stay put and await a second team to move in and help support or recover the first one. As night began to fall soon the fog would roll in alongside the docks, in which whoever could be causing the incident may could have the slight advantage  of temporary seclusion from the authorities, at least visually.

Xavier showed the ID that proved he was a research scientist for G.U.N. "I need access for some samples..." He lied. In truth, he wasn't even supposed to be off the island. He got past the docks and started to look for whoever was left behind.

The atmosphere around the dark was eerily quiet. As the fog rolled in all around him would be the dense haze of the night and worse off it was quiet all around, too quiet. The only noise could be heard of the ships floating and the midnight tides coming, however the rest was maddeningly silent around the pier. This, coupled with  the revolting stench of fish and some other scent would make his stay rather unpleasant.

After not walking for very long, his smile soon faded and his senses hightened. His ears twitched at the slightest of noises, but he refused to let himself become paranoid or scared and he kept a serious expression.
He soon couldn't help himself and called out. "Is anyone out there?" He said to anyone who could hear him, but he felt like his voice was closed in to only him from the fog. He began to run, tying to keep his eyes on the ground to avoid falling off the pier.

He may hear footsteps coming from the right. These steps seemed that of a human adult male, loud, sort of clumsy, and moving close towards his position. Eventually he would perhaps see a silhouette of a human's figure nearing towards him.

Immediately he took a step back, turning his robotic arm into a small laser canon and pointing it at the male. He glared. "Don't get any closer!" He threatened, his ears flattening.

The individual paid no heed to his warning, soon the person came into focus. It was one of the police officers, however, something was very odd about his eyes. They appeared to be a form of unnatural violet instead of a normal color. The person seemed to be moving irregularly as well.

Xavier pointed his canon towards the ground now as he looked up at the man. "Sorry officer... I didn't realize it was you." He apologized. It took him a moment to notice the irregular movement and eye color. "Hey... You okay?" He tilted his head slightly.

The officer kept advancing towards him and suddenly took out his taser. He flipped the switch and kept on the move until he was close enough to attack!

"Hey, Stop! I don't want to shoot you!" Xavier exclaimed, backing away quickly. When he realized the officer wasn't going to stop, he shot at him with his laser canon, but not at full blast.

The officer was pushed back, instead of yelling as someone normally did he made a bizarre 'groouppe!' noise as if something was inside of his vocal cords and throat. He stumbled backwards and was burnt from the blast as well. However he appeared to not be phased or supersized from the blast.

Xavier took the opportunity and ran away from the pier, deeper into the city. Just trying to get as far away from the officer as possible. He was already regretting leaving Prison Island... But if he took a second to think about it, this was definitely more exciting.
