"Indeed it does, but my master is not usually the one for luxury," Azzar explained. "Odd. My master was supposed to be here by now."

"you got up fast..." "Maybe he's busy or something"

"I honestly thought you wouldn't actually stay here as I'm sleeping."

Footsteps sounded behind them and Azzar's master finally appeared.

It was a draconic, horned being with magenta eyes, violet skin and smooth, purple scales. On its back sprawned large, feathered wings – unheard of even amongst dragonkind.

"well where else was I supposed to go?" Lillith got excited. Even the souls in her head got excited well all except for willow who warned her that he was extremely dangerous and not go near. "Oh my gosh!!!!!! A dragon with feathered wings!!!!!!"

"Sorry, I kind of forgot we share a room. Point is, you didn't tell you'd stay," he told her. "But I don't mind, really. I had you in my dream."

It was hard to determine the draconic being's gender, as it had no discernible features. When it spoke, however, the voice was female and a smooth, soft-spoken one at that.

"Lillith, I presume? I don't think we've met."

"you did ?! Well then why were you talking about soul jars?" "Yes I'm lillith. Nice to meet you!"

"I heard everything, including you wondering how I'm alive, so I told you."

"Gnaiih-L'ghalios," the being introduced itself with a smile. "A mouthful, I know. You can call me Lee, if you prefer."

"you have a soul jar?" "That is a mouthful. Crazier than my last name. I think Lee will do."

"I do."

The being offered her a chair to sit down. "So, what brings you here? Or did you you just come to visit?"

"how's it feel?" Lillith sat on the chair. "Azzar asked if I wanted to see you. So I said yes. I guess this is just a visit."

"Like a really bad idea, to be completely honest," Legion told her. "Perpetually cold handshakes, paleness, the fact that my soul jar are these very robes."

"He asked for a demotion just so he could spend more time with you," Lee told her. "Did he tell you that yet?"

"There wasn't a good enough occasion," Azzar said in his defence. "But it is true."

"but can't you live forever?" "You really would do that for me?" Lillith looked at azzar. "You don't have to do that"

"Technically, yes, but I doubt the robes will actually last thirty, maybe forty more years," Legion answered her question. "And once they get destroyed, I'm gonna die. I swear, this was as dumb a plan as that one book I've read where the powerful mage-person put all his power in a ring. A ring he lost."

"I could continue to ascend the ranks or be with you," Azzar explained. "I don't regret my choice."

"can't you just get a replacement robes?" "But haven't you been trying to get up the ranks for so long?"

"No, maybe I should have explained better – the thing that I put my soul in was a bolt of black silk. Said silk was then used to make these robes."

"Like many that were not born like this, I searched for a meaning, a purpose," Azzar told her. "Me trying to ascend the rank was just some ladder I wanted to climb, a road I though would be the wisest. But now that I found you..."

"don't those mages have a spell to make the robes very hard to get torn." Lillith blushed. "I wish I could say you could be the purpose of my life but....Sadly I'm bound.."

"It's not tearing I'm particularly afraid of – I regularly cast on the spell you mentioned on them," Legion continued. "It's aging that terrifies me, because I know magic can't do everything."

"To Liela, your friend?"

"oh...Well..At least you'll live for a while " "yes... Eventually I will have to return to her."

Legioned nodded. "Yeah... I really hope there's a way to undo this."

"She allowed you to leave when you tried to study illusion magic, remember?" Azzar told her. "I'm not asking you to abandon her, but maybe you could tell her to give you a few days off of every week."

"there's always a way to undo things.." "maybe but I'm sure voltraire will soon go back to doing his evil and I know my master will need help. "

Legion laid down on the bed again and sleeping once more. "I hope you're right..."

"You've already been gone for a day and a half," Azzar reminded her. "Has your master called you to her aid?"

Wendigo laid on the bed. "Not yet"

He noticed that she was right next to him, but didn't comment on it. Like he said, he didn't mind her at all.

"When she does, you can ask her if she can temporarily relieve you of your duties for a few days or so," Azzar told her. "Or is Liela really that fragile?"

Wendigo cuddle close. Lillith was thinking. "The things he makes her do for missions ..The are very dangerous.."

Legion wondered if he could place his arm around her. She was just so cuddly...

Azzar was getting angry. "I see this conversation turned to meaningless squabble. You are not willing to make an effort to find a compromise."
