She bumped into another mummy, who immediately grabbed her arms. Ayah jumped and silently clinged to one of the walls like some sort of bug; she was having none of that 'getting-eaten-alive-by-rotting-corpses' kind of thing.

Liela struggled and tried kicking the mummy. "DAMNIT AYAH!!! YOU HAVE OP KNIFES!!! USE THEM!!"

Ayah stayed silent and motionless. The mummy's grip didn't bidge and two of them were now uncomfortably close while the third had her in a bind.

Liela looked pissed at Ayah but she was too busy with the mummies to really say how she felt. "FREAKING MUMMIES!! HOW ARE YOU ALL SOO STONG?! YOU GUYS ARE LITERALLY DEAD CORPSES!!!!" Liela couldn't get out of the bind she was in.

The book had a merciful mode where it would skip the death in case of an unwinnable scenario and put the player back in the tavern, but the requirement was that the scene had to happen at least once.

One of the mummies bit her shoulder, while the other made small cuts all around her by pelting her with sand.

There wasn't anything she could do.

"AAAHHHHH! AAAYYYYAAAHHH HEEELPPP!!! PLEASEEE!!" Liela's face was a mix of anger and pure fear.

Her pleas fell on deaf ears and as the mummies tackled her to the ground, she had to experience the horror of being eaten alive, from the pleas for help to the last bits of life leaving her as she watched.

She then reappeared back at the tavern, alive, along with the others.

Ayah didn't dare to look her in the eye; when she was what was happening to Liela in the dungeon, she just froze in terror. She knew what she had to do, she even planned it, but cowardice and her own survival ranked above that, sadly.

"I'm summoning someone who will actually help me." Liela sounded mad but she was still shocked a little. Liela took out the book of summons and proceeded to summon Maggie.

The monster was summoned and for a change, she was not in the middle of showering. Immediately, the book showed her level as 47 and her class as Guardian.

"Was wondering when you'd bring me back," she quipped. "Is there anything you need?"

"I have trouble trusting anything that can eat me in a single gulp," Ayah replied. "Do we have to rely on monsters?"

Maggie slapped her with her tail. "Call me a monster one more time. I dare you. I double dare you. I'll make chicken soup out of you, birdy!"

"Liela's right; we need all the help we can get," Ivona defended the monster girl.

"Hear that, buttercup?" Maggie taunted her. "We're gonna be friends. You, me and every embarrasing little secret."

Liela Walked closer to Ayah not happy. "You know what Ayah? I'm most likely the baddest person here!! I've killed and destroyed entire villages back when I used to work for my old boss. What has Maggie done? Kill three or two people because they touched her wrong? Honestly, I'm more of a monster than Maggie will ever be!!!" And with that Liela Walked to a table and went to the dungeon page on the book of dungeons.

Ayah crossed her arms, but stayed silent. She didn't like this, but she had to trust Liela's judgement.

"May I ask what we're going up against?" Maggie asked. "Having a plan or at least an idea of what to do would be better than just heading in blind."

"Well we are up against flesh eating scarabs and mummies. The goal is to steal a crown but that's not the point of this mission. The reason why I want to do this dungeon is to get some very important materials. We need mummy scraps. Right now I only have 1."
