"Ah, yes, the reprint. They've made the mistake of ommiting information, as they expected owners of previous incarnations to know them already and found them redundant. Sadly, they were never able to correct their mistakes," he said. "As an avatar of all the authors who worked on this book, I can elaborate and explain quite a few things."

"left out information? Well isnt that just the best." Liela wasnt looking very happy.

"That's why I'm here. The icons that appeared over your head were status icons," he explained. "Here, various items and actions cause all sorts of effects, often to hilarious and not so hilarious effects. Food heals almost all of them, but a sizable chunk of them disappear over time, like poison and confusion."

"So if I get poisoned it won't have a cure? I'll just have to deal with it? This world is sounding more like a game."

"The authors were inspired by actual board games and rulebooks and were also huge nerds," the businessman explained. "If you do get poisoned, it'll negate the effects of both food and any healing. You do have to wait it out, since antidotes are fairly rare and expensive."

"So we're literally living the game. Well I guess it could be worst. "

[Crimson Skies]

"Do we get to go on dungeons, raids, that kind of stuff?" The hawk asked, having had followed Liela downstairs. She lost countless hours to online games when she was younger and the knowledge kinda stuck.

The businessman nodded. "Yes and yes," he said. "Although the first requires a five-man group and the other either twenty five or as much as forty brave adventurers. I'll give you more information once you reach level fifty."

"Kve got a whiles before I get to that level. So like does it show when you level up? Is there going to be a text or somethi-wait a minute! Does this mean I get new abilities or powers when I level up?!" 

[Crimson Skies]

"Kinda. As you advance in levels, more advanced attack techniques and spells will be easier to use effectively and easier to understand, respectively," he continued. "An arrow will appear above you and you'll explode in harmless particles of gold."

"Don't think I've ever heard a sentence that has the words explode and harmless together. Oh well.Do we have a main bad guy here or just dungeons? "

[Crimson Skies]

"Depends. You can choose a campaign or just pick a specific or random location you've unlocked."

[Dogy9978]

"Well I'd choose campaign. It's all about story. "

[Crimson Skies]

"You can choose between Queen of Sorrows, Lair of the Necromancer and the tradional Dragon Kidnapping."

[Dogy9978]

"Queen of sorrows please. I don't really want to fight a necromancer and I'm pretty sure Lillith would lose it if she sees a dragon."

[Crimson Skies]

"Very well. The book will tell you more," he said. "Also, should you wish her to join you, simply repeat the words that brought you here."

"Thanks for giving us this information. now how was the the words...Mugs of beer, bowls of soup, cracked bones aplenty, alone or in a group, one or even twenty. Before entering a cavern, visit our Trauma Tavern."

Lillith appeared out of the blue.

Lillith looked surprised for a moment before crossing her arms." Took you long enough master. Freaking left your phone in the room and left me there hanging. " Lillith turned and saw the business man. She got very close. "Hmm"

The businessman didn't even flinch; his eyes and dastardly smiled dared her to come even closer.

Lillith creeped in a little closer looking up and down. "You dont... " Lillith got even closer and poked him. "Uh something wrong Lillith?"

He hissed at her.

"What is even-" The hawk tried to say something, but just couldn't finish the thought. This was beyond weird.

[Dogy9978]

Lillith took the hissing as a threat and hissed back louder. "What are you?! Can't fool me!"

"A demon, shapeshifter, created and forgotten," he spilled the beans. "What do you want, Inky?"

[Dogy9978]

"Shapeshifter! Why don't you turn into me? I bet you don't even know what I am!"

[Crimson Skies]

His visage became distorted and now Liela had twice the trouble. "Oh, look at me, I'm an ink demon, Lillith's my name," he said, perfectly mimicking her voice. "Being worthless's my game." That may hit have hit her a bit too hard.
