Operation Alpha - Page 5 Empty Re: Operation Alpha

Post by Shade the Lazarhog Mon Jun 06, 2016 10:25 pm

Shade nodded to the wolf's comments before his head spun around to see the soldiers, "shit," he scrambles to his feet and looks towards Caen and Shrike, "should we fight?" Shade took a SMG out of his hoodie pocket, "the wall will hold for a bit but the soldier's shouldn't attack it."

Shade then explains why, "the wall has a defense mechanism which fits with one of Isaac Newton's laws, "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." The action is soldiers attacking the wall, the reaction is the wall shooting the kinetic energy back at the soldiers. It only happens for a short time but it could kill them. We need to warn them."

Operation Alpha - Page 5 Empty Re: Operation Alpha

Post by C.S.O. Tue Jun 07, 2016 1:52 am

The wolf glances around at Caen, Shrike and Shade and moves away from them. He quietly studies the tactical information being displayed on his visor. In the time that had passed since he had been caught in Shade's barrier, readings that had been collected now allowed him to see just where the barrier was, giving him an idea of how much space he had to work with. The display also showed that three other teams of comparable size to the one they could see had arrived from other directions and were moving to surround them. He considers his options and waits for an opportunity to act.

The lineup of officers move forward in a defensive formation, keeping their distance though as they prepare for action. From behind them someone speaks through a loudspeaker to Caen, Shrike, Shade and the wolf, who by this time were standing alone in the parking lot, the bystanders having moved clear some time ago.

"Attention! You four individuals have been identified as potential hostiles. You are all ordered to drop your weapons, stand down, and be taken into custody. You have one minute to comply."

Operation Alpha - Page 5 Empty Re: Operation Alpha

Post by Froshana Tue Jun 07, 2016 6:41 am

((Aha, if anyone thought I wasn't going to find my way in here, they'd be wrong. Also, small disclaimer because this character is ridiculously snarky. She and I don't share all our opinions and I'm totes sorry if she offends someone. Punch her or something if she does, I guess???))

Among the onlookers and rubber-neckers in the crowds watching the scene unfold, the expressions seemed to vary. Some were curious, others worried. There were even a couple of people using mobile devices to try recording the four in an attempt to catch some violence on video. Amidst the civilians, there was another face. She blended into the crowd fairly easily, although someone keeping up with the music industry over the last little under a decade or so just maybe could have recognized the former child star. She'd once been in a small singing group with her two older brothers and they had gained quite a following for a few years into their early teens before the group broke up. In fact, one of her brothers was still quite famous if anyone knew of the singer, Sparky. Even now, actually, the hedgehog in the crowd had maintained a musical career herself. Nowhere near as famous as her brother was with his singles and concerts, but she did release a new album just a little less than a year prior so the name Flame might be a little fresh in some minds...

She was a navy blue hedgehog, just a little taller than average and slender in form. Granted, with the cropped sleeveless top she wore and the well-fitted blue jeans, one could easily note that she wasn't without curves in all those "right places." There was also a small backpack on her, but it was mostly tucked underneath the long quills that reached almost all the way down to her short tail. She had a pair of tennis shoes on for the moment, though they were starting to look rather worn, especially along the soles.

Then again, that's why she was here. It was shoe-shopping time again. Or it had been before the sound of sirens started up and she overheard talk of something falling from the sky. She considered checking it out later if it was still a thing, but it appeared the point of interest had come to her.

The hedgehog was watching in almost amusement at what appeared to be some sort of testosterone-filled conflict among four individuals. Two were armored and had weapons, another had weapons, but no armor, and the last... Well, he had something going on, but with all the powers out there, she couldn't make a guess as to what it was.
Either way, it seemed the wolf in the group had done something to offend the other three. They were adamantly asking questions and posturing to look tough and perhaps try to intimidate him, except for the black hedgehog. He seemed the more laid back of the bunch. But there was even a short amount of scuffle between the wolf and the red hedgehog before the armored... fellow stepped in. It looked to her that the wolf was posturing right back and maybe even toying with them a bit, judging by how frustrated the trio appeared to be. She couldn't hear the conversation from where she stood, however. She did note approaching sirens, though.

When the trucks did arrive, they were easily enough to draw the hedgehog's attention away. Flame raised her eyebrows. Clearly there was some shit going down here, but she was relatively set on just observing with the other civilians for now. No sense in getting shot at today if she didn't need to, right?

...Right?

She noticed that the only hedgehog without a weapon now suddenly had a gun as well. She hadn't even been able to tell it was in his pocket, but there it was, apparently. Either way, they all seemed to either draw their weapons or were ready to do so. All except the wolf, who had moved a little farther away from the other three.
...She really wished he and the other armored guy would take off their helmets so she could judge them properly by looking at their faces.

Upon snapping out of these idle thoughts, however, Flame glanced around and realized most of the crowds had retreated upon the arrival of the trucks and their passengers unloading out of the back. She snorted softly, remaining leaned against the wall of a store across the street from where the four had been having their... conversation.
She wasn't just going to run off now that things were getting even more interesting. Might as well stick around and see how it all panned out. Her arms crossed in front of her, emerald eyes continuing to observe casually.

Caen was taken aback by the utter cheek of these military officers. "Wha- potential hostile?! I am on your side here! Do you know who I am?!" He stared at them, but none of them seemed to react to his words in any way "no, I suppose not." He pulled in his coat and buttoned it up, "alright, new plan..." Caen said, walking towards the officers, he summoned some fire, extending his arms outwards. They quickly formed a wall of flame in front of the officers "...we run." Caen began to run in the opposite direction "why am I considered hostile? Jesus Christ, I diffused a potential bomb!"

-Shrike couldn't agree more, using that shield of fire, Shrike takes off running, but not so he couldn't shoot back if need be, no doubt the law enforcement, recognized Shrike as the renegade they have been looking for. His armor was a exact match to that of the G.U.N soldier who they had been hunting.-

"Nothing you say or do Caen is gonna convince them, they made their minds up and decided the truth from them self, now we have to go, before they call up reinforcements. We should be able to loose them, using back alleys, if we move fast enough, there is only 20 of them, they will not be able to cover the entire are, and if they do it will take them forever. By that time..we will be long gone and can resume out mission to discover the nature of the situation...oh and I don't want any more deaths of G.U.N forces on my record any more then I might have already."

Shade was slightly annoyed that G.U.N assumed that Shade and the others were hostile but he kinda understood why. Shade watched as Caen built a wall of flame before running with Shrike. Shade reinforced the wall with his own powers before running over to the armoured wolf who looked like he was trying to escape himself, "come with us," he asked, "you'll be safe and then you can do what you want."

Shade looked at the wall, worried before glancing back at the wolf, "it's either now or never, you pick." Shade began to run in the direction of Caen and Shrike slowly, waiting to see if the wolf would come with him.

( OOC: Welcome aboard Froshana.

Posting order is now: Me, Froshana, Red Blur, Shrike, Shade )

The officers draw back from the firewall that Caen creates in front of them. In response they split into two groups, each one heading the opposite directions towards either end of the wall to get around it.

The wolf snorts softly as he sees Caen's response to being declared a potential hostile, then Caen and Shrike take off running. Shade quickly follows suit pausing to ask if the wolf was coming along.

Shrugging slightly, the wolf takes off after them.

The hedgehog eyed the group as they made their response to being confronted. She shook her head as one of them seemed to think that the best way to prove he wasn't hostile was definitely to throw up a fire wall and assume the people accusing them wouldn't take offense. Then again, it seemed they all had something to hide here. Aaaand now they were running away. Together. It rather made it look like they were actually working together now.

'I must be seriously missing something here,' Flame mused to herself silently. For the moment, however, she stood her ground, only shifting if she needed to to watch the four running off. She also took note of the reactions the officers had as the 'potential threats' took off in what definitely looked like a guilty attempt to flee.

Caen ran through the streets, barely dodging several lampposts. He saw that the wolf was trailing not too far behind "ugh. Why is he following us? Does he want to be detained? Wait... He wants us to look more suspicious! Bastard..." Caen said to himself. He soon called out to Shrike "best chance we got is to split up. They cant catch us all. We can regroup when the heat's off."

Caen split off from the group, running into a back alley, and hopping a wall. He stopped, looking around "best place to go is up, I think. Can't drive a truck on the rooftops." He quickly found a ladder that led to the roof of one store, and he continued running, hopping from building to building, avoiding many of the higher ones.

" Roger that! breaking off, using your communicator to contact me later for a rally point!"

-Shrike breaks off heading in the other direction, using as much as there was provided in the alleys and back ways to make the tasking of tracking only harder, trying to put as much time between him and the Riot unit, Shrike stuck to the ground levels, using the dark poorly lit alleys as means to use shadows of travel, moving fast and of course wrecking the path, he was soon on his way to getting clear of the Riot squads. Every so often checking his back to see if any one had decided to follow him, probably not the best option as Shrike was prone to use dangerous force in situation's like this, he could potentially shoot an innocent if he thought they may be a threat, hence his choice of going in the less populated back routes.-

Shade nodded at Caen, "okay, I'll probably be able to find you after all this shit has ended."

Shade pushed himself telekinetically high into the air and into the clouds. He hovered in the air and looked around before pushing himself forward. He decided to stay in theclouds until he thought it was safe to come back down. He flew near a small flock of birds.

The wolf rolls his eyes as everyone else takes off. Caen to the rooftops. Shrike to the alleyways. Shade to the sky. The wolf continues on foot, staying mostly out in the open so that he could cover more distance.

The officers return to their vehicles to rejoin the pursuit as their initial attempt at containment had failed. Helicopters were also called in to add aerial surveillance to keep track of as many of the four fugitives as they could.

Operation Alpha - Page 5 Empty Re: Operation Alpha

Post by Froshana Thu Jun 09, 2016 12:53 am

The blue hedgehog started off down the sidewalk at a decently relaxed pace. She saw the red hedgehog and his luxurious quills when he split off from the group. He was out of her sight once he ducked into the alleyway, though. She wondered if she ought to target him. A brief bit of movement from the rooftop leaping out of sight made her realize he'd climbed to the rooftop and was getting around that way. As easy as it might have been to get to the rooftops herself, trying to focus on not missing an important jump or step while being a nosy butt wasn't the most appealing option...

The tall guy in very green armor took off in the opposite direction his hedgehog friend had gone in. Another alleyway, of course. Flame considered something briefly before making her decision. She was suddenly no longer walking down the sidewalk. The hedgehog zipped along quickly, but remained careful. She was trying to be low-key in her speeding about. She took the long ways around and did her best to remain behind those she was definitely not stalking and still not get in between them and the trucks pursuing them. She was confident enough in her unnatural superspeed that even if one of the four noticed her, what could they do?
A glance into one of the alleyways that the soldier-lookin' fellow had gone down revealed to her that he was making sure to leave plenty of a trail of minor destruction for their pursuers to follow. Maybe he was trying to slow them down, she figured. Follow this one? After the way he seemed to wave that shotgun around earlier, Flame decided perhaps not...

It was while she was peering back to find the other two that she spotted the darker-furred hedgehog with his pocket gun just straight-up launching skyward. It was a long way up to even the lowest clouds and she had no patience to watch him actually reach his goal. However, her lack of any flying abilities made that an easy target to rule out. Gee, this wasn't as easy as she had been hoping...

That only left the now-lone wolf who quite obviously did not like being touched. He didn't seem to have any escape gimmicks or ideas like the others and was just flat-out running. In fact, he wasn't even running that fast, at least not in the opinion of someone fast as she was. He had guns, though. Then again, he was also the only one she had yet to see draw a weapon, too. But something about that visor covering part of his face bothered her. Maybe not knowing where his gaze was...

Only a short amount of time had passed as Flame was considering just how nosy she really wanted to be in this situation. By this point she had casually moved out onto a sidewalk and was strolling while she observed the last of the quartet still in her sights, but keeping far out of his way. Just another civilian walking along, of course.
The sound of sirens reminded her that she probably shouldn't get in trouble with the law today either. Hm.

Operation Alpha - Page 5 Empty Re: Operation Alpha

Post by The Red Blur Thu Jun 09, 2016 1:32 am

((why do I feel so inadequate when I see your walls of text, Froshana? XD))

Caen sped along the rooftops, occasionally glancing along the streets. He hopped from building to building, not with much grace, but jumping in a fashion designed to lose as little speed as possible. In his peripheral vision, he noticed someone, or something, speed past him. He looked at the street, trying to see who or what was the culprit, but he saw nothing. They were merely empty streets. This seemed odd to Caen, but he continued on anyway. In his distraction, he had jumped to another building late, and had landed badly. He fell off the building, just barely catching the ledge. He hung there for a few seconds, breathing heavily "that was careless..." He muttered to himself, before hauling himself up. He stood there, taking in his surroundings. He was no longer near the plaza, but nearer to a general neighbourhood. What was most advantageous, though, was the fact that most of the houses appeared to be one-storey high, meaning he could continue with little hindrance. He looked up and saw helicopters flying overhead, and quickly got back on track for running. He was afraid that they would open fire, or somehow incapacitate him. He shook his head "I am not going to jail. Not now, not ever."

Operation Alpha - Page 5 Empty Re: Operation Alpha

Post by Shrike Marine Thu Jun 09, 2016 10:04 am

-Shrike darted this way and that, the enhanced speed kept him moving at a fast pace, well fast for something that almost weighed a ton, left to right he moved, leaving a wake of objects in his path, however Shrike may have been good at moving really fast, dodging on the other hand, not his strong suit, he was heading for a wall , fairly tall. His idea was to jump over it, he had a feeling the suit could do it, however to his surprise he makes a hilarious face plant against the wall, as he slides down from the impact back onto the floor....he simply lay there uttering only one word.

"Ow..."

-Shrike finally rose back to his feet, looking up , down, left to right..seemed like he corned himself in a place he could not escape, not only that Shrike had a shivering feeling that some one, or thing was following him. However in this environment with so many civilians, the weapon he held was more or less just to be a intimidation, he had no real desire to use force...collateral damage was not something he was going to risk.

opening up his communicator he had some rather bad news for Caen.-

" Hey Caen...yea...I may be a bit late...I'v..uhhh...hit a dead end...and can't get over it...but I will do my best to get to your location as soon as possible...you manage to evade them yet ?...I can still here a chopper in the skies...keep your head down if possible...those things don't give up so easily."

Operation Alpha - Page 5 Empty Re: Operation Alpha

Post by Shade the Lazarhog Thu Jun 09, 2016 4:25 pm

Shade kept hidden in the clouds but he kept moving. He heard the turning of helicopter blades but could not tell what direction they were coming from. Shade eventually ran out of clouds and hovered in the air. Shade was close enough to Shrike that Shrike might be able to see Shade even in his dead end. Suddenly, the helicopters appeared seemingly out of nowhere and Shade froze for a few seconds.

The helicopters saw him easily since Shade had a purple haze around him indicating Shade was using his telekinetic powers. Shade didn't know which way to go; he wasn't scared but anxious. He decided to fly in the direction he was already flying. Shade was thinking how to deal with the helicopters, to fight or to run away. Shade wasn't sure, if the helicopters attacked him, he would fight. He would only run if the helicopters just chased him.

Post by C.S.O. Thu Jun 09, 2016 4:59 pm

The wolf continues to make his way down the streets, traveling out in the open rather than looking for cover or finding a more difficult route for his pursuers to follow. Eventually, one of the trucks finds him and begins pursuit and a helicopter moves in to join it.

The other trucks and helicopters fan out to search the area.

One group of officers proceed on foot to follow Shrike's trail of destruction. They proceed slowly and carefully in case he was lying in wait ahead of them.

Shade is spotted quickly, but no one moes to engage him since he's quite high in the air. Rather one of the helicopters keeps him under observation for the moment.

Eventually, Caen is spotted as well, and a helicopter moves to pursue him, relaying information to ground units about his location and heading.

((Huehuehuehue, I have that effect on people, but honestly this is my version of all bark and no bite because Flame did so little action for how many words that took. :P Don't feel inadequate.))

So maybe she'd follow these guys until at least one of them managed to escape from the... not-exactly-cops, then she would make her move.

Flame seemed to have her plan mostly in order. At least until she heard the sound of helicopters overhead... Her pointed ears perked up and she raised her gaze skyward again. That was a bit more complicated. She could speed around unseen by people on foot. But she would be easier to spot from the skies.

Further, much smaller, movement caught her attention and she spotted the dark-furred hedgehog, now out of his cloud cover. She wondered if he could fly faster than a chopper. Her eyes darted back down towards her current target.
Right, wolf guy. There was a truck and a helicopter chasing him right now.

Flame decided to hang back for the moment. She had all the time in the world, right?

Caen quickly looked back. The helicopter was still following him, which confirmed his fears that they were part of the force wanting to take him into custody "this is all a massive misunderstanding..." Caen muttered as he jumped from one rooftop to another. He looked ahead, thinking of what to do next. He was running out of rooftops in the direction he was going in. "The rooftops are not helping. I need to go into the alleyways," he jumped down from the roof he was on, into an alleyway beside it. He pressed himself against the wall. Shrike came in on his communicator, telling Caen that he had gotten into a dead end. He lifted his wrist to his mouth. "I'm kinda in a bad position, myself. They got eyes in the sky, and I cant really take it out, 'cause, frankly, I don't want military deaths on my record."

I hit...erm...a dead end..but don't worry I'm about to make it clear."

-Shrike does what he does best, make fireworks, he proceeds to place a small circle like device to the wall, he hits two buttons of it followed by a single press to end the sequence, the device bleeped and continued to do so till it bleeped almost constantly, as it hit a continues sound, the device exploded, putting a hole in the wall large enough for him to get through.-

Shade glared at at the helicopter and wondered what to do. He looked around and then back at the helocopter, "I shouldn't attack it. I've got enough on my record already."

He decided to turn the opposite way and fly away from the helicopter as fast as he could. Shade spread out his arms and soared through the city, the breeze rushing past him. He flew around buildings and close to the ground, "I need to lose these creeps."

The helicopter following Shade does its best to keep track of him as he flies away, but as soon as he drops down closer to the ground, he is lost from their sight.

Something similar happens with Caen once he drops down to ground level again. His general whereabouts are known though, so the ground units in trucks try to move into the areas around Caen before he can get clear of it. The helicopter continues to observe from above, looking for any sign of him.

After Shrike uses the explosive to break out of the dead end he'd been in, the officers on foot following him increase their pace in the direction of the blast, hoping to catch up to him. Shrike's exact location was unknown, but a helicopter moves into the area above the smoke created from his explosive, looking for any sign of him below.

The wolf meanwhile continues to lead his pursuers further into the city, detouring only when they drew close and he needed and obstruction to gain distance. He'd go over walls, make his way through buildings, move through lines of trees, anything that served as a barrier. He was unable to evade the helicopter though and from there, they were able to coordinate the efforts of ground units to close in around the wolf.

Operation Alpha - Page 5 Empty Re: Operation Alpha

Post by Froshana Sun Jun 12, 2016 7:21 am

It was while passing through a more open area that Flame noted that she could just about guess the general directions each of the four had gone in based on where the helicopters seemed to be focusing their search.

Handy.

One helicopter was off out from behind the taller city buildings. It must've been closer to the outskirts of the city. Maybe a residential area?
An explosion distracted her and Flame turned her head sharply in the general direction she heard it come from. It was terribly tempting to go and check it out. A short glance back to the wolf, or really the trucks and helicopter chasing him as she paused where she'd been trailing behind them. As she was trying to make her decision, she caught sight of the flying hedgehog descending from the heavens to try and shake off the helicopter after him by going between the buildings and closer to ground level. It seemed to work to slow them down a bit. Nice.

But back to the decision at hand. An explosion could mean action. And maybe give her opportunity to choose a side. Buuuuut it could also mean more trouble than she was willing to put up with if she stepped into the wrong place.
On the other hand, wolf guy didn't seem to be making much escape progress either. Was he even trying? He sure wasn't going to lose the helicopter this way.

The navy hedgehog idly shifted her weight from one foot to the other where she stood.
Well, it's not like she couldn't find any of these chases again with relative ease, judging by the commotion following each of them. Wouldn't hurt to break off from one and check out another. After all... she did feel that explosions were particularly her thing.

Flame darted off in the direction she'd heard an explosion from. It took a little speedy searching, but was pretty easy to find once she could see the trucks outside one of the alleyways. Clearly, the soldier guy had gone through here, judging by the mess he left behind him. Instead of getting too close, she made her way around to go and find a better vantage point. The helicopter seemed more focused in on another area and it wasn't long before she noted the smoke rising from a building.

'Geez, what got blasted?' she wondered. She still maintained her distance. For all she knew, something else could blow up at any time. No point in getting shrapnel to the face for being careless.

Operation Alpha - Page 5 Empty Re: Operation Alpha

Post by Storm Wave Sun Jun 12, 2016 7:36 am

Storm's ear twitched unappreciatively as the droning of helicopters and the whir of sirens grew closer. Then, there was a low, concussive thud. He groaned and rolled over on the covers, shielding his tired eyes from the light as he tried to convince himself to stand up. Eventually, he yawned, and trudged out of bed, and peered out his window and into the city. Police helicopters. A plume of smoke. The clear signs of a pursuit growing closer.

F***ing great... he rubbed the bridge of his nose wearily and stepped onto the circle printed on his floor. With a wave of his hand and a surge of arcane force, he double-checked his apartment locks, and sent electronic life surging into his coffee pot. But something felt.... different. There was something off about the general electrical feng shui of the apartment. The fox paused for a moment, before he experimentally sent a surging impulse through the confines of his home. Yep. Something was there that wasn't there before. But wheras the typical consumer electronics had nice, neat, orderly flows of electricity, this felt.... somehow muddled? Splotchy? Was that the right way to describe it? The fox pondered the meaning of this as he walked to the kitchenette, trailing red, zig-zagging trails of arcane circuitry along the painted design on his floor as he went. He poured a few spoonfuls of ground coffee into an awaiting filter before swerving to the sink, and filled the pot with water. His eyes blinked through the haze of his brief cat-nap as he focussed on the swirling water in the pot. He snapped his fingers, sending another pulse of energy through the interface circle painted throughout his house. He felt it again. It was still close. In fact, it felt like whatever this new electrical source was had gotten uncomfortably close to his personal space. He sighed, and poured another cup's worth of coffee into the pot before returning to the waiting coffee maker and drizzling the water into the chamber. He placed the pot back on the heater, shut the filter, and with a snap of his fingers, the coffee maker bubbled to life.

The fox groaned wearily as he sat down in the center of the circle in his living room. He sighed, and sat there for a moment, in silent reflection. He shut his eyes, and let the gurgling of the coffee maker steal his thoughts away from the noise outside. The scent of coffee filled his small loft, relaxing him for a moment. A distant helicopter droned above the skyline. The sound of the last few drops falling into the pot resonated in the fox's ear as he sat for a moment. His eyes slowly opened and he stared out the window to the city ahead.

"I've got nanomachines on my face, don't I?"

Operation Alpha - Page 5 Empty Re: Operation Alpha

((ah, storm! Good to see you've joined us again! Welcome back!))

Caen looked up at the sky, he saw the helicopter circling around his last known position. No doubt it was sending the coordinates of that location to ground troops, who will waste no time trying to surround him. Caen had to stick to the shadows of the glaring sun overhead. "Maybe I should make my way back into the city, they wouldn't think I'd go back. I just have to lose this damn helicopter..."

Caen shuffled along the wall, peering behind him. He could hear faint sounds of the same sirens from earlier. He heard an explosion in the distance, as well, and a plume of smoke rose from its location. "Yep. Never a man for subtlety." He muttered, walking out onto the street, but sticking to the shadows on one side.

"Hey, you! Stop right there!" Caen heard behind him, he stopped, looking behind him slowly. More troops, and they were closing in fast. In his moment of distraction, another truck came up ahead, and more troops emptied out of it. "no, no, no..." Caen muttered "please, you've got it all wrong!" Caen shouted at them "but you won't listen... Amazing work folks!" He looked around. His best bet would be right ahead, but troops blocked his way. "Guess there's nothing for it... I didn't wanna hit you all, but, you leave me no choice..."

Caen ran straight at them, jumping when he was close to the line of troops in the street. As he begun his descent, he quickly landed on one of the troop's heads and used it as a springboard, allowing him to get right over the truck. In the air, he turned back, summoning flames, which turned into arrow-like shapes. "Heat arrow!" Caen shouted as the flames flew off, one by one. They all circled around the soldiers, before hitting a nearby fire hydrant, soaking the ground around the group, not to mention the group themselves. He landed with a thud, bending as he did so. "Alright, that'll serve some distraction..." He began to run again, heading back towards the city.
