Re: Tempting Darkness
Relying on predatory instincts, the monster decided to attack the weakest one, which in its eyes, would be Mezek. As such, it charged at the mule in blinding speeds, its claws and fangs ready to tear into his flesh in preparation for a tasty snack.
Tharros was stunned by the screech enough for the beast to charge at Mezek. The Griffin couldn't prevent the monster from attacking, but once he got the opportunity, he would charge at the blood consuming wolfbat and allow his halberd to deal great damage.

Re: Tempting Darkness
Mezek dove for the create and pulled out a smoke bomb.
He turned in time to see the creature upon him and shoved the smoke bomb in it's maw, before diving to the side.
The condor saw Grief rush off to one side and dropped a heavy beam off the wearhouse ceiling onto the creature.
"I dough that did much but make it angry!" snarled the Condor, still tapping his cane on the ground.

Re: Tempting Darkness
The condor was correct when he said it'd do nothing but piss it off. The smoke ball did nothing but make it cough a few times before spitting it out and charging at the mule once more.
Tharros was pondering heavily. He was aware attacking this creature head on was futile. It would only increase its rage and make it more rage filled.

Re: Tempting Darkness
There was a sudden flash of steel as the condor raced passed the beast's path. A long narrow blade, dripping with the beast's blood, was held by the condor as one of the hands of the beast fell to the floor.
"You would never get enough from him." snorted the condor, "He never had one to begin with!"

Re: Tempting Darkness
"Do not thing you have bested this thing. It feels no pain nor knows no fear." Tharros warned, gripping the center of his weapon.
The monster stood up, unphased by its injuries. It stood up straight, towering over the condor and flashing its fangs. In a split second, it thrust its hand towards the avian's neck, where it would dig its claws into his neck.

Re: Tempting Darkness
Suddenly Grief, driving the truck, rammed the creature.
"Get in Boss!" he called as Mezek scrambled in.
"It seems that We've over stayed our welcome, Griffon." said the condor to Tharros, "You should be able to hold till dawn."
The condor go in to the truck and the trio raced off.

Re: Tempting Darkness
Ramming the creature proved to have a different outcome as Grief had assumed. While the beast only budged a small degree, the Griffon simply prevented it from digging its claws into the condor's neck. It was stunned for a brief moment, and swiftly chased after the escaping prey with blinding speeds.
Tharros was baffled by the speed and durability of this creature. He still wouldn't let it out of his sight and flapped his wings to pursue the living nightmare.

Re: Tempting Darkness
Oh No!" said Mezek as he glanced at the rear view mirror, "It's still after us and gaining fast!"
"Must I deal with these thing myself?!" snarled the condor.
As the creature neared it's target, Grief said "Hold on!"
The truck suddenly turned a hard left as the creature raced passed.

Re: Tempting Darkness
While the creature did in fact keep veer straight and initially missed the turn, it took him only a matter of seconds to get his bearings straight and continue on with the chase, setting his hungry eyes on the truck once again.
As the beast took off, it narrowly avoided a crescent shaped construct of razor sharp wind created from one of Tharros' wings. He was still a fair distance behind them as his large size and oversized wingspan offered little acceleration while flying. Of course once he reached a certain speed, he could cross large distances in little time. His attack was meant to slow the monster down, but it failed. With an annoyed huff, the Griffin continued on.

Re: Tempting Darkness
"That didn't work!" called Mezek in a panic.
"Must I do this myself?!" snarled the condor.
The condor made his way out of the window and leaned back, holding an anti tank weapon.
He fired the shape charge at one of the walls and brought it crashing down on top of the creature before tossing the spent gun to the ground.

Re: Tempting Darkness
The condor's tactic did indeed work. The monster was buried under under heavy amounts of debris. Victory seemed to be awarded to the trio of crooks, but the beast soon burst up from the wrekege and flew high into the sky. An assortment of cuts were seen across his body and upon further inspection, seemed to pulsate with dark purple energy. Its rage towards the condor and his goons; had only seemed to increase. With blistering speed, it flew down and at an angle right at the vehicle, where once it got within range, would let its rage be known with a flurry of claw swipes
Re: Tempting Darkness
Grief glanced at the creature as it dove down.
"What?!" he paniced, "What will stop that thing?!"
Grief slammed on the breaks as the creature plowed into the ground in front of the truck.
"I must say that this creature is impressive." said the condor, "But it doesn't seem linked to the ring at all...."
"I think this would be a good time to blot boss!" said Mezek nervously.

Re: Tempting Darkness
The monster landed with a loud thud in front of the vehicle. Considering it landed on its feet, it was unscathed. It hopped on the hood of the truck, drooling and blood hanging from its shaggy dark grey furred muzzle. Its array of pointed teeth and deathly fangs glistened in the light of the moonlight. Its empty glowing red eyes exchanged looks between them deciding who to devour first. Without warning, its fist crashed through the windshield in the blink of an eye, where it attempted to grab the unfortunate driver by digging its claws into him.
Re: Tempting Darkness
Grief managed to grab the claw before it got to his neck and the the condor slashed off the claws with his cane sword.
"Off with you!" he spat as he slashed the creature across it's eyes. Grief stomped the on the gas and shifted the truck in reverse.

Re: Tempting Darkness
The best howled in pain, although agony just seemed to make it more enraged. Its booming roar echoed through the numerous buildings. Its claws dug into the vehicle, so it clinged on even as the truck shifted in reverse and took off in the opposing direction.
Meanwhile, Tharros watched from a distance. His rigid eyes glanced at the brightening sky and the horizon becoming an orange color.
"Any second now...." the hybrid muttered under his breath.

Re: Tempting Darkness
Suddenly Grief did a hard handbrake turn as Mezek smashed the hinges of the hood and sent it with the creature flying off.
Re: Tempting Darkness
As the hood of the car came flying off, the beast flapped its wings and took to the skies once more. Since its claws were still lodged into the hood, it carried the chunk of the car with it. It pondered for a moment, then freed its claws from the hood, catching it with just its hands before it can fall to the ground. It the sent the hood hurling towards the truck with great force, likely causing immense damage should it connect.
Re: Tempting Darkness
"Bail!" called Mezek as he saw what was coming.
The three jumped from the truck as the hood smashed the truck to scrape parts.
"Any second now...." cursed the condor as he spied the sun rise.
"We've got to move, boss!" called Grief in panic.

Re: Tempting Darkness
Nightmare flew high into the sky at this moment, letting out a plethora of roars. As the sun peaked over the horizon, it began screaming in agony and dropped to the ground moments later, a blinding light shrouding its entire body to the point it was lost within and no longer visible.
Tharros landed beside the trio. He surveyed the destruction that had occurred, the turned to the condor.
"You have survived the onslaught that is Nightmare, a most commendable feat. I am rather impressed." He said with a smirk. He looked back to the ball of light that enveloped the monster.

Re: Tempting Darkness
Both Mezek and Grief feinted to the ground as the condor shook his head.
"I've seen worse." snorted the condor, "Much worse.."

Re: Tempting Darkness
Tharros let out a huff at the condor's words.
"I am not surprised." the hybrid replied, keeping an eye on the transforming wolfbat.
The living nightmare continued to howl in agony. These cries abruptly stopped as its body shrunk half its size. The light soon vanished, leaving behind an unconscious sky blue wolfbat. His looked similar, yet different. His fur was short as apposed to long and shaggy. The skin on his arms, inner wings and inner ears were tan instead of gray. His wings were smaller and cobalt blue in color with no bone ridges and curved edges. His attire was much more bright and colorful, trading in the red and purple with yellow and orange. All in all, this was a much more peaceful creature.
"I believe you three are not acquainted with Twilight." Tharros spoke, looking at the trio once more. "Rest assured, the danger has departed and we are safe. This is a rather frail creature, so do not contemplate on harming him." he went on to say.

Re: Tempting Darkness
"Interesting.." said the condor looking at Twilight, "What dark form of lycanthropy has this poor creature been delt with in it's life."
Both Mezek and Grief twitched on the ground.
"Get up you two useless incompatant baffoons!" shouted the condor.
The two suddenly shot up to their feet and saw what the creature had become.
"Um, boss?" asked Mezek.
"Yes it is." said the condor, "And leave it be."
Turning to Tharros once more added "Shouldn't it be taken care of? In a hospital, I mean."
