The Animals

"Yeah, we have to do it all even so it's fair, obviously." Ashy said, pointing out the obvious like always.

Hushabye nodded and began to divide the food equally for each of them. It took longer than expected (a good majority of the next hour), but it was finished and she was more than a little happy.

She glanced at the cracked yet working wrist watch that she had found years before, and looked at the time. "We'd better get everyone up. I doubt they'd wake up any time soon on their own."

A few moments later, Katio appeared from his room. He seemed well-rested, and he was definitely ready to take on the day.

"Morning, Katio!" Ash looked up from the ready backpacks, "Ready to practice?"

"I guess so," Katio replied with a wide smile as he descended the stairs. it had been a while sine he had shown off his moves, and he couldn't wait much longer.

Ashton also hasn't had much of a chance to show what she can do in quite some time so she was just as excited as Katio, if not the same amount of excited, then more. She smiled warmly at the fellow neko, it was odd that they seemed to be the only two left.

Katio returned the smile to Ashton, and gestured towards the door in the floor. "Shall we go outside, then? Practicing in here isn't really a god idea, after all..."

Ashton chuckled, "Yeah, let's go we can start practicing and the others can come join us when they're ready." Ashton walked over the the door and climbed down and went to their practice area, it was a medium sized clearing with not much in it.

Katio and Hushabye followed after Ashton silently. When they got to the practice area, the naga sat down and began munching on her breakfast AKA a red, juicy apple. Katio stretched his limbs, enjoying the sunshine through the trees. The sun must have just risen.

"Want to practice, then?" Katio asked Ashton, a small grin flickering on his lips. He had finished stretching and was standing on one side of the clearing now.

"Yeah!" Ashton shouted as she ran to the small, but deep pond in the corner of the clearing so she could get started practicing her water manipulation skills, she started by creating a small wave and brought it up into several snake-like streams, she smiled over at the other two, "I'm ready!"

Katio grinned, creating a small ball of flame in his hand. He moved it around with concentration, until he deemed himself ready.

Ash threw one of the long streams of water in Katio's direction, it spiraled around violently as it neared him.

Katio seemed unprepared for the attack, but Hushabye multiplied herself just in time so that a copy of her took the hit. The neko gave the naga a curious look, but made no objection before quickly firing a large ball of fire towards Ashton.

Ashton pulled the water around her, basically forming a shield between her and the ball. The flame was effectively put out. She looked over at the naga and sent a steady, sharp knife of water towards her, then one at Katio.

Hushabye multiplied so that there were at least 15 of her, and they all charged at Ashton. Katio blocked the water knife coming at him with a shield of flame. The flame sizzled and died out, but he was saved from the attack. He then threw three flaming arrows at Ashton and the multiple Hushabye's.

Ashton ducked trying to avoid the flaming arrows but one of them caught her on the arm. She let out a scream and fell down on the ground in pain. She brought some of the water over to her arm and kept it there to cool off her arm. She looked up at Katio and Hushabye, "Looks like I need to look out a bit more.." She said laughing weakly. Ashy stood up released her hold over the water and looked at her arm, it wasn't burned too badly but it still hurt like crazy. "I-I'll be a-alright, I've just gotta rest for a short while then we can probably go into the town... I'm just going to go inside and clean this up..." She then ran inside to clean up her wound.

(Sorry I couldn't post. I had school as it is.)

"Everyone all right?" Kuro asked, who had woke up promptly at 7 this morning to go exploring with his friends. He had been training as well.

Katio felt bad that he had hurt Ashton so badly. He hoped she would be fine. Hushabye sensed his negative emotions, and offered a small smile. "She'll be ok. Let's keep practicing!" And they began to duel with each other once more.

Ashton was in the bathroom she knew that Katio didn't mean to hurt her, she had heard his thoughts and everything about them screamed that he wanted her to be okay. She looked at the blisters on her upper arm and concentrated, in a few minutes they were gone, but her energy was nearly depleted now. She went to the living room and laid on the couch until it was time to leave for town.

Kuro nodded and kept up with his training. I hope Ashy will be okay... he thought as he trained.

Katio and Hushabye continued practicing on each other, occasionally glancing at Kuro in a respectful sort of way. They soon wore each other out, and they both took a well-needed rest.

Back at the safe-house, Kurai had just awoken and was descending the stairs. His nocturnal and human instincts clashed against each other, so he was still rather tired. He noticed Ashton on the couch, but couldn't tell if she was asleep or not. "Are you alright?"

Ashton didn't hear Kurai come downstairs so when he spoke it had startled her and she jumped a little then turned around, "Oh hey, and yeah I'm okay. We were just training and I got burnt... I had to heal it and it drained my energy so I was just resting a bit. You look tired, are you alright?" Ashton felt a lot better now and stood up and stretched.

Kuro was also at the safehouse and resting as well. He was sitting on the couch, looking out to the window.

Kurai studied the two on the couch. He hadn't realized they had gotten so early, but he didn't mind. He tried to avoid interaction with any other living things at all times. He was not a people person.

"Fine. I looked at the moon for a while until I fell asleep," the bat-boy responded to Ashton, and he stood in front of the couch with his arms crossed. He didn't want to mention anything about his natural nocturnal nature. Besides, he felt it was his duty to make sure that his precious darkness stayed safe.

Kurai glanced Ashton over with narrowed eyes to make sure that she was fine. He might not have been very kind or considerate towards the others, but he stilled cared about them deep down. WAY deep down.
