Lillith flew closer and closer to the golem and made sure if they were gonna hit something, it would be itself.

But the golem was not so easily fooled.

When it noticed how close the dragon was coming, he dispelled the javelin and instead, begun hurling the very same rocks that were orbiting around its core.

Lillith couldn't Dodge all the rocks being thrown at her as she took one to the belly pretty hard making her flying less smooth.

The golem would attempt to follow up with a punch, throwing its entire arm in Lilltih's direction.

Lillith decided to try and out fly the punch while trying to hold her urge to throw up.

The golem's arm would scrape by Lillith's side, but otherwise miss hitting anything else, shattering once it hit the ground.

Tearing off a large chunk of the rock orbitting around its core, it readied its remaining arm for yet another throw.

"Again?" Lillith was already feeling how it was getting harder and harder to fly in the rain. Her urge to throw up increased until late couldn't hold it anymore and threw up purple fire right at the rock-

The flames effortlessly burned not just the rock away, but also most of the arm, leaving just a stump.

With no more offensive options, the creature would break down what was left of its arm and add it to the rocks orbitting around its core.

"That felt horrible..." Lillith said as she lowered her altitude a bit.

The wolf waited patiently 'till the monster had its focus completely on the two gals and as much as he hated leaving them to fend for themselves, he needed time.

Having had converted one of his revolvers to what looked like a small rifle, Stryker would wait for the right moment, hold his breath and gently pull the trigger.

The high-explosive round would weave between the rocks and hit the golem's core, causing a signficiant crack.

Stryker would have pulled the bolt and aimed for another shot, were it not for one thing.

The golem begun to spin and roll in his direction.

"Hey...come back... here..." Lillith flew after the golem lowering her altitude.

The wolf would throw everything aside and start running.

But the golem was quicker.

Rocks orbiting around its core pulverized the pavement as it rolled onward, crushing it to a fine powder.

Desperation gave to panic and panic gave to carelessness.

He tripped, nearly face-planting.

But he didn't pick himself up; there was no time.

The creature flattened him, half-burying him in the ground and continued onward for a feet more feet after it had done the feet.

Lillith's eyes widened a tad but she showed her flying. "Welp... he's dead now..." She said disappointed. She knew this wouldn't got well with the others.

Stella wouldn't take it as well as Lillith, shouting "Stryker!"

One of the wolf's hands reached out and with considerable difficulty, he dragged himself out and started crawling away.

The golem reoriented itself and started rolling in his direction once more.

"How did he- oh no you're not running him over again!" Lilith flew down faster, attempting to grab Stryker before he would get crushed again.

Stryker grabbed on with his intact arm and held on tight as Lillith helped him get out of the way of the golem.

The beast would pause and just start rolling around without a cause or reason.

"are you... not a mortal? How in the world did you survive that!?!" Lillith was holding Stryker carefully.

"Luck?" Stryker would let out painfully.

With Lillith holding him with all her might, he'd hold his breath and then let out a yelp of pain as he set his left arm, regaining some movement in it. His legs, however, remained inanimate.

"Been through worse," He'd then proclaim.

A bolt of lightning striked the confused golem, finally destroying it. The rain had settled into a light drizzle, but the black clouds remained.

A voice boomed all around them.


"Useless. I'll deal with this personaly."

"You're the luckiest man ever!" Lillith replied finally landed on the wet ground. She was glad the rain was easing up. "It's never over is it?" She mumbled

In a burst of lightning, the mage himself, an old, bearded man, would finally appear before them, donning but a simple, white robe, with electricity visibly arcing through it.

"Your pet ink demon has proven to be quite a useful tool, hasn't it? Her doing all the hard work while you cower and hide," he'd say. "Yet I'd expect nothing else from lowlife scum, one leeching off the other."

"Don't you dare speak of master like that!" Lillith yelled out. She was keeping a defensive stance.

"And yet you continue to speak on her behalf," the wizard snapped back. "No matter. As long as she listens, she can stay silent all she wants. I've trekked across time and space to find my displaced property and I'll spare you should you give it back."

He'd pause, let that offer sink in.

"Think it over. What makes you think you safeguarding it is a better choice than me doing the same?"

Lilith was almost at a loss of words, almost. "My master may not match you as equals when it comes to power but she has found more use of the book than you have! All you do is lug it around like some prize while my master actually uses it for its intended purpose."

Upon hearing the words 'uses it for its intended purpose', the mage gasped.

"Quite a nasty catalogue of knowledge, it is," the disguised Stella would say. "You couldn't even tap into it, could you?"

"Silence, you dimwitted fool! Have you no clue what horrors might be within?!" lightning would arc from the Mage's hands. "You've doomed us all."

"We've already entered those worlds," Lillith said smiling. "It's a great place to trap those who get in our way. "
