Lab Rats [Closed]

Pluto walked in the room. She wasn't surprised that there were others in the room. Mostly because she heard them already. She saw both of them not look her in the eyes. More like look at what was on her head. Pluto sighed sadly and walked closer to the two. "Yes, this facility is definitely different. Usually when I'm taken prisoner in other planets, I don't have to do tests." Pluto turned to the rabbit. "I am Pluto. pluratu of the chinnec empire. Though it seems you two are more interested in the nebulas and shrooms on my head..."

((uh... Relative? You gonna take your turn?))

"Good. You're all here," the girl in charge of testing proclaimed. "Well, let's get started, shall we?"

Two cups full of some transparent liquid emerged from the two circles on the table. It was likely water and the third one probably wasn't there due to Pluto mentioning she doesn't go well with water.

"One these is water, the other is poison. Both smell and look the same. Pluto does not meet the criteria for this test."

The soldiers were in a simple room with one button and one door. 

"Hello and welcome to the Training Facility of the Genii Subsystems," the voice greeted them, deeming them undeserving of her true voice and giving them the synthetic one instead. "Please, step on the button if you understand."

Just as the sea bunny was about to respond to Pluto, the  voice had begun to speak, introducing them to the latest test. The bunny had sat up, and moved to the edge of the mattress before getting off of it and standing up.

Her ears pivoted as she heard the noise of the cups emerging from the circles on the table. She turned to face the table as the girl told them the contents of the two cups. The sea bunny leaned against the table, placing her elbows on top of it, and peered into the glasses as though she were closely examining them. They indeed looked the same. There was no visible difference between the two liquids. 

"... Are we supposed to drink these...?" She mumbled with slight disbelief. She wasn't sure whether her and the red hedgehog were required to drink the two cups, leading to one of them to getting posioned, or if they were just supposed to drink one and hope it was just water. 

She wasn't exactly sure how to find out which was which, so she began pointing to each of them, going back and forth as she mouthed some words to herself. It looks like she was singing "Eenie Meanie Miny Moe". Of course, she wasn't serious. She would never take such an approach to this kind of situation. Though, this was a rare sight, for she was hardly one to joke around at all, especially in such a life or death situation.

She looked at the two others in the room, waiting to hear what they had to say about this test.

Caen crossed his arms, leaning against one of the metal walls as the alien introduced herself as 'Pluto'. He chuckled "well, it's not every day you meet someone from a different planet, after all!" The hedgehog stepped forward, bowing in the same fashion as he does with nearly everyone "I am Caen Flare. Mobian. Then again, you probably already guessed tha-"

He was cut off when the voice spoke again, as two glasses of liquid rose up to the surface of the table. According to her, one of these liquids was, in fact, poison. The sea bunny asked if they were supposed to drink from them, but before her question was answered, Caen growled "you dishonourable cur! You told us this place was being attacked just so we'd hurry to our deaths?!" He shouted, now visibly shaking in anger.

-Echo and bravo elements enter into the room, they hear the voice but again refuse to respond, with no alternative doors or any other possible routes to follow they held their position and decided to wait for further orders then proceed.- 

"Command this is Bravo 0 we have entered the testing area and are currently holding position at this location..what is the status of the other teams ? "

" Phase teams have located the the vicinity where the source of the power to run this facility is located they are heading for it now I have diverted one of them to head to your location to help avoid future obstacles, further collateral damage could disrupt the facility. Assassin team Sigma is closing in on the heat sources but are under orders not to engage until we know what we are dealing with, Phase teams will cut the power to complex and kill the lighting and possibly any further defenses." 

-Before long a blue glow emanated off the wall and through stepped a soldier bearing advance dark and light blue armor the gap closing in behind him, this was one ability of the phase trooper allowing them to pass through solid matter not only for themself by allowing other soldiers to move through.- 

"Phase trooper on site commencing phase shift on wall move on my go."

-Opening a phase rift upon the wall the two soldier teams pass through wall after all wall bypassing the needed to do much of any thing else, slowly but surely they closed in on those inside the complex.-

Pluto smiled for a moment when she saw caen bow. 'what a strange way to great someone. Why did only he do that? Is there more than one greeting here.' she thought. She turned to the two orbs filled with liquid. "Poison? Well if that's the case then one of the orbs must be heavier than the other. There is no need to overreact and get mad, Caen. " Pluto told, calmly. Even though her ear kept twitching. She could hear the intruders more clear now.

"I can't do this any other way," she proclaimed. "I'm sorry. There are rules I can't break."

The facility was powered via an fuel generator on the uppermost floor, as well as several geothermanl ones located far below the testing area.

The soldiers attempting to phase through the walls would find themselves in a pit, as the room wasn't connected to any other rooms. Catwalks would only be extended if any of them stepped on the button.

Was it that hard to listen and do what the voice told them to?

The sea bunny tensed as she realized she had yet to give a proper introduction. Upon hearing Pluto's question about multiple greetings, she turned to face her, giving her a salute. "Yes... there are multiple gestures used to introduce one's self. My name is Breezy..."

Her ear twitched along with Pluto's. She, too, could hear the noise and commotion caused by the attackers. They were certainly getting closer. Breezy adjusted the rusted welding mask atop her head, and glanced over in the direction of the distant noise. She remained silent for a few moments before speaking, "Maybe they're here to save us..." She murmured. "The reason for them attacking is supposedly unknown, but is there not a possibility that they heard of the testing that goes on here? There seemed to have been others here before us, who likely met a gruesome fate... The place is obviously inhumane, and it would definitely be best if it was taken down. Maybe they're just here to get us out and take this facility down..." These thoughts made her start to lose whatever trust she had gained for the girl.

The sea bunny turned to face the cups one more, staring at them, deep in thought. As slim as the possibility was to her now, there was still a chance that it'd be in their best interest to listen to the voice. She then came to the conclusion that there would be no harm done in them trying to figure out which of these two were poison or not, so long as neither of them grabbed a cup and drank it without the full knowledge of knowing which was which. It at least acted as some sort of way to pass time, until their "rescuers" arrived, and even if she was wrong, they'd at least be making some sort of progress in this test.

She looked over at Pluto who had mentioned a supposed weight differentiation between the two. They were both liquids, and they looked exactly the same. "If there is any sort of difference in weight, wouldn't it be too small to tell...?" She asked as she placed her head in the palms of her hands and her elbows on the table, starring at the cups once more.

Even in the rather... Dire situation, the sea bunny still had the courtesy to introduce herself with the name 'Breezy'. A rather odd name, to be sure. Then again, they did live in a world with a hero that goes by the name of 'Sonic'.

Caen could hear the noise of these supposed attackers travelling throughout the facility, and just looked at Breezy when she even made the suggestion that these attackers were real, let alone willing to help the threw of them. "Has it not crossed your mind that these noises are merely an illusion, produced by this AI to drag is into a false sense of trust?! No other way... Bullshit!"

He turned away from the other two standing in the room, slowing his breathing and relaxing his now tense body. "So, one of us has to drink the poison. Can either of us simply take both?" He asked, sounding somewhat defeated "because that's what I'll do, okay? If you want one of us dead, it'll be me."

-The phase trooper quickly stopped yanking back a soldier before he dropped to the bottom of the floor way down below, they had to come up with a alternate route and fast, while they brainstormed the other Phase troopers headed to the first generator on their current level, they set about rigging charges on the machine.-

" This is Phase team two charges rigged on the generator stand by ! "


-Suddenly the facility rocked once more from the large explosion that destroyed the generator device, the lighting flickered violently that generator must of been responsible for the lighting of the complex, lights all over the facility suddenly went dark, only a handful were still operating.-

" Elements be advised this is command Phase team two has destroyed the first generator and has severed the lighting system in the facility Phase team two will now proceed to the second generator. Assassin team Sigma report your status."

"Sigma team here we are nearing them switching to cloak mode and moving in we will transmit visual footage back." 

-In the area that the others were they would start to hear flicking and strange technological sounds..not to mention some blurred images here and there the assassins with there advance cloaking armor and ability to scale walls were literally around them.-

"Command we have visual confirmed 2 Mobians and 1 unidentified being what are your orders." 

"Sigma team remain where you are do not move in until soldier teams Bravo and Echo elements are on site do not engage."

"Understood holding position in cloak mode."

-Mean while the phase trooper had to use its second of two abilities which was phase cast the ability to phase objects or beings from one point to the next he was able to open a phase shift in a wall and redirect them to the other side once more they had over come a obstacle and pressed on with the search heading for Sigma team, the sounds of their boots could be heard approaching.-

"No one is going to drink those things. I know a way to tell the difference between the two." Pluto grabbed both of the balls. "If I could just make their gravities low enough to not fall immediately and high enough to make them still float down. We will find out which is heavier." Pluto floated up to the top of the room. She focused on the two containers. Then she dropped them but they didn't go to the floor as fast as they should. They were slowly falling down. Almost like time had slowed on them. One of them was drifting to the floor faster than the other by an inch.

The lights in the complex flickered and even stayed off for a couple of seconds before coming back on.

The main generator was destroyed, but the geotermal ones, the ones providing the most power, were safe deep underground, in in clusters of three inside of a lava lake.

"Well, that's unfortunate," the girl in charge of facility proclaimed. "The main power generator has been destroyed; I'll have to manually reroute the power if we're ever gonna get out of here."

After a brief period of silence, the girl added in. "Oh and both of them have water. Just water. Clear, destilled water."

The room with the soldiers stayed dark, however and to buy the others some time, the girl in charge of the facilty started disconnecting it.

As a result, the room noticeably tilted to one side.

"Time and time again, you have refused to identify yourselves, give a reason for your intrusion," the girl proclaimed, still making her voice sound robotic and distant. "You leave me no other choice."

Breezy didn't seem too amused by Cean's little outburst. She pushed herself off the table, and crossed her arms. Although she starred at him with her usual lackadaisical expression, the look in her eyes showed much more than that. She was rather annoyed with the fact that he wasn't able to keep his cool, letting his emotions get the better of him. Even though his actions were justified given their current situation, she wasn't at all impressed.

When he stated that he'll take the fall by drinking from both cups, she couldn't help but to smirk and let out a small laugh. "My hero..." She muttered sarcastically in a voice that was barely audible.

Her attention soon shifted once Pluto had taken the two cups up to the ceiling with her. Her eyes widened with interest she watched her levitate up there. Her interest deepened once Pluto claimed that she'll change the gravity around the two cups. She was surprised to see the two objects fall to the ground at a slow pace. Pluto's abilities certainly intrigued her.

She picked up on the fact that one was falling faster than the other, yet the girl claimed they were both filled with water. Either that was a lie, or one was filled up more than the other, causing the difference in the rate at which they fell. Once it was within reach, she grabbed the cup that was falling the slowest, and drank from it. The one falling faster should have been the one that contained the poison, if there was any to begin with.

This sea bunny was quickly beginning to irritate Caen, especially when she replied to his show of heroism with a sarcastic remark. While he could agree that Pluto had a good idea, it didn't make the situation any better, as he would just have to choose the poison, anyway.

The girl, over the intercom, now told them both that the containers had only water, just 'clear, distilled water'. More lies, in Caen's mind. He looked around "so, why tell us that one contains poison, and- Breezy, wait!" He shouted at the sea bunny as she took one and drank from it. "You... Fool..." He said, waiting for her body to respond to this probable intake of poison.

-With the lights at least out most of facility fell into darkness, that did now however stop the forces inside the complex, even tho they had come this far with out to much trouble they began to realize that the situation may be deteriorating.- 

" Phase team 1 and 2 check in........phase team 1 and 2 respond........All elements be advised we have lost contact with the phase trooper teams in the lower area."


"Command this is Echo leader should I said a squad to investigate ? "


"Negative remain where you are I will attempt again later you are closing in on your objective continue with operation."

-Suddenly something shook violently causing the soldiers to suddenly become vigilant, moments later they once more heard the distinct voice that had been trailing them since they first entered the complex, yet just like all other attempts the soldiers did not respond to her it was unclear why they were not responding there behavior was strange. 

Then suddenly the room began to tilt with no phase trooper to help them out they were trapped in this room that was now tilting with no option they braced for it.-

" Echo and bravo elements hold onto something the entire room is shifting!."

-One soldier could not hold onto any thing and thus tumbled down, unfortunately he was one of the soldiers who carried some of the explosions and upon hitting the bottom activated and set off 4 charges rocking the facility with another tremendous thud, the explosion engulfed a few of the soldiers either killing them instantly ripping limbs off.- 

"Command! This is Echo leader we have suffered a unexpected prone detonation we have multiple KIA unit effective has dropped to below half what are your orders!?" 


"Orders stand continue your mission disregard causalities. No contact from phase teams we have lost all connection and signals are dark assume phase teams may have been KIA in the explosion."


" Roger command All units check in

" Confirmed we have 12 KIA both phase teams are not responding we are on our own till other wise do not expect any more reinforcements. That blast blew a hole at the bottom every one out !"

-One by one the remaining soldiers escaped the shifting room, however they had paid dearly for it with more then half there forces either not responding or dead they still had to continue with there objectives.-

Pluto sighed more watching the girl drink the 'water'. Pluto gave a glare at the ceiling. Pluto turned to Caen. "There's no need to be concerned. If one of them had poison than she drank the right one. If neither of them had it, then she's still safe and I've made a slight miscalculation. Either way, she's she's not going to die unless of course, both drinks had poison. ."  Pluto's ear kept twtiching.

It really was just water. A bit destilled and a bit warm, but still just plain water.

"I'm rerouting power; give me a few more minutes."

Not only did the room fell into lava, the rooms around it started moving in a way that would further impede the soldier's progress.

And boy, was it getting hot in there.
