No-End House (Closed) Empty No-End House (Closed)

Rumors are always a lovely way of getting people's attention. Mostly when it comes down to a challange of kinds in exchange for money. Because in this day and age, everybody always wants money. mostly when the rumor acclaims you can get 5 million if you pass through all the rooms.

Now what rooms? Some have asked. Well the rooms of a rather secluded building. Pretty much a shop almost in appearance but more worn down. Crack dancing along the walls as well as nature slowly overtaking the building back. Above it's suprisingly well kept wooden door hang a sign 'No-End House'.

Said house was well located at a dirt road which seemed like nobody had been over it in a long LONG time. Only by accident or straight out search could this place be found. Or the knowledge of somebdoy who had actually been there telling you.

But people who been there always will advice you to not go. But are you willing to take that risk for a reward as high as this one? A nice quick buck made, besides how bad can these challenges be?

No-End House (Closed) Empty Re: No-End House (Closed)

The bad thing about being jobless and homeless was the income. Vaevus Joseph Asmile had nothing to his name, bar the donations by the occasional stranger passing by him and that fancy university degree in both law and history. But what was a piece of paper in comparison to being able to live? The white-furred pegasus sighed heavily, making his way slowly towards the run down shack with heavy footfalls, bare hooves against the gravel and dirt path.

Occasionally Vaevus was lucky enough to find a discarded newspaper coming his way when he was out in the streets, and that allowed him to find opportunities. Opportunities for money. Like this. At this point he'd take anything, the meat on his bones was starting to fade. What's the worst this could be? He had his basic spells ready. He had his powers. He was prepared, and he'd fought and dealt with horrible things in the past; this was nothing to him.

The ex church leader no longer wore his wonderful black judge robes that flowed with his movement, as they had been removed and used to tend the weak when a great building fell upon the innocent and the confused. Rather, he wore a simple jumper, partially ragged, and baggy sports trousers, so he was hardly one of a fashion success. Plus the white, ragged beard, he was certainly resembling something hobo-ish. It was a little pathetic really, that a judge of the law, a leader of a religion, had been reduced to the life of poverty.

Vaevus turned his head slightly, examining the abandoned area, hand posed and ready to knock at the old wooden door. Though not quite yet. He'd give a few minutes to see if anyone were to show up.

For now it seemed like the Pegasus was the only one willing to take the risk at this forgotten and set off building. Heck not even animals seemed to want to come anywhere near it, which in some cases can be seen as odd. Mostly if the birds and critters move around the building in a wide circle. One of the small rats taking a halt too look over to the older man before scuttling off with the rest of it's little rat pack.

A soft rumble in the sky was let out as a breeze picked up. Almost urging the man inside. Which might be wise considering the light dancing in the clouds overall tends to bring horrible weather along with it. As that moisture in the air increased and that typical smell of when it was just about to rain filled the air.

Having been following the pegasus for quite some time now, about after he found the newspaper and deciding to follow out of simple curiousity, is a kitsune. The vulpine creature, fur as black as the void (or his heart, depending on who one would ask), seems to be keeping to the shadows, trying very hard not to be seen by the pegasus. Nine thick and bushy tails are being kept close, taking much care not to let them sway and make a sound.

Unbenounced by the kitsune, one had seen him. A Jackal of deep brown fur. Her hair had touches of mint green and a pony tail of black and white. Her eyes, one cyan the other crimson red glared at the kitsune. A gold and blood stone creast seemed to be one with her forehead.

She scratched the bandage wrap around her neck as she approched the shadowy kitsune from behind.

A few minutes passed, and he saw naught. Occasionally, Vaevus though he saw something moving within the shadows, vague mobian shapes quickly vanishing and fading like the passing wind. Two, in fact. But he paid it no heed - if they wished to join, they could. If they wished to leave, they could. He wasn't going to bother with anyone who didn't want to approach him, he had that enough respect.

A sigh later, and the white pegasus placed his hands against the old, creaking door, green mane billowing in that gentle breeze, the rumble of thunder evident in the distance, and the shadows dancing and waving from the wind more than enough to confirm that of a storm. Taking a look upwards towards the sky, before craning his neck once more to see if anyone was to approach and join him, he took a deep breath and pushed it open, leading himself inside the old house.

No-End House (Closed) Empty Re: No-End House (Closed)

Post by Uncanny-Illustrator Thu Jun 05, 2014 12:26 pm

As the weather worsened the first few droplets were released from the sky. Land on the dirt and the building with soft thuds. Before long that wet dirt smell released as the droplets started to grow in number. Predicting a clear soaking pour to come on as the wind picked up.. The crackling in the distance growing louder and above all, closer.

It was a soft creak that the old door let out as it was being opened with surprising ease. To reveal what appeared much like an entrance of a hotel kind of lobby. Which was surprisingly well kept, mostly compared to how the outside of the building looked. A clean spotless desk and chair near the opposite wall with a sign sat firmly on it. "Welcome to No-end house." Nothing more, nothing less was written on it.

The floor giving it's own soft creaks as the hard wooden floor was even lightly stepped on. Spotless almost hospital like white sterile walls. The only thing with color besides that desk and chair was a single wooden door. Decorated with a golden plate in the shape of a clear 1.

Stepping out of the shadows the kitsune steps in through the door, walking forward a bit to stand a bit next to the pegasus, looking around the lobbylike room they are standing in now. ''Hmm, interesting looking place. Seems quite peaceful'' Muttering,a slight grin on his face.

The Jackal followed suit and managed to slip in behind the kitsune.

"Strange place." she said aloud behind the kitsune and pegasus, "Now may I ask why you were shadowing this fine fellow, Kitsune?"

No-End House (Closed) Empty Re: No-End House (Closed)

Post by Spekkal Fri Jun 06, 2014 2:35 pm

The old mythical horse turned on his feet in surprise at the two who seemingly appeared out of nowhere. A black kitsune, and a jackal. How did he not see them? The kitsune looked familiar, just vaguely. but he was to ignore that niggling feeling in his head since he didn't know why. The jackal was unfamiliar too. No doubt these two were here for the money. Perhaps when they made it through, they could split it evenly? As much as he hated to take it for himself, he needed it.

Trailing his fingers along the white walls, sniffing the air lightly while occasionally glancing at that wooden door, he thought it best to see who these people were before they ventured into the house to see what was to be within. No-end? Ha. Everything has an end, and everything has a solution. It was foolish to think otherwise.

The pegasus adjusted the collar on the jumper, looking over the two with weary old wisdom-filled eyes; "I am Vaevus," he spoke, voice rich with authority and heavily with charisma, "Who are you two? Are you here for the money?" He chuckled lightly at the jackal's words, "I'm sure it was because he was simply lost - this is a very secluded area, I thought I was almost lost a few times."

''No, i followed you because you seemed interesting. The way you carry yourself and such got my attention. so i decided to follow you. I am Cyril by the way. And though money would be useful, i don't need much of it. Just enough to get by for a few days'' The kitsune speaks, stepping in front of the pegasus with an outstretched hand, offering a polite handshake.

Vaevus happily accepted the handshake with a firm grip and a smile across his old lips. He tapped his forehead once with his finger upon receding his hand from the greeting, muttering mumbled words: 'Verus Ego', to himself. Eyes flashing and glowing a wonderful and gentle gold at the words, the white pegasus glanced over the two calmly before clicking his fingers in a singular snap, eyes reverting to normal - a soft shade of green.

"It is a pleasure to meet you both. I assume you two know each other?" the man chuckled, "How wonderful. There should be no awful-comings as we venture into the house then, I assume." He turned, pressing his hands against the wooden door with the golden '1'. It was terribly inviting. Like some sort of game show. Who was watching? Who'd know when they had completed it? "I suppose it is best we chat as we move on, rather than continue onward in silence, no?"

He craned his neck to watch them, pausing for just a moment to continue speaking- "Who knows what we will encounter? I find it strange really. I'm sure others have attempted it. It was in the newspaper, after all. Money is such a valuable thing to some. What could possibly stop a person from opening a door, hm?"

And as he spoke those final words, he pushed open the entrance to first challenge of No-End house.

It seemed like it was off to the scariest start ever. As they stepped over that step an almost draining feeling would wash over them. Blocking their powers off completely (no if buts or complaining people). Because they would very much need it in this very first room of this scary place.

In the background some typical halloween ambiance was on loop, much like one you'd find in some of the typical stores around a halloween time. Decorations of fake zombies and skeletons placed about. Fake spiders attached to really obvious strings hanging from the ceiling as they just dangled about.

Honestly this room looked more like some department store's halloween section than an actual challenge. And on the far end of the slender room sat a door with the a golden 2 on it's hard wooden surface. Shimmer ever so lightly in the light of the not too well hidden lamps from the ceiling.

A step into the room, a gasp and a grumble is what comes in that order when Cyril walks into the first room, trying out his powers after the draining feeling and grumbling annoyed when finding they do not work. ''Great, now here's hoping there won't be any physical stuff or fighting at close quarter... I'd be completely useless then. Whohoo'' Yes, much sarcasm

Now he wasn't aware his powers were gone, and I'm sure he'd find out soon enough, but Vaevus' powers were more of an extra more than anything, never took any notice bar his holy spells which weren't his. A wave of weakness fell over him as he gripped the wall to steady himself, taking deep breaths and narrowing his eyes at the floor as he slowly gathered his strength back from that experience, "Now that was odd..." he muttered to himself, raising his head to look at the doorway, "What in the world caused that?"

He waved his head, examining the room with an amused brow, "The first room, of course they'd throw us something simple and childish to lessen our nerves," he chuckled, "A room this simple out of many wouldn't scare people away, no. Impossible." He checked the room once and twice, to make sure there was nothing out-of-place like, say, a hidden trap door or a new exit. But as he found nothing, the pegasus simply opened the door to the next room. Room two. He may as well since no-one else was going to, apparently. They were all happy to stand there and look idly bored.

Honestly, Vaevus felt like he was going to be carrying all this on his back, with people gripping onto him for the ride. What fun.

This door seemed just a tad harder to push open, with the softest creaks as it did. Revealing more store bought horror ambiance on a loop as well as a rather odd smell. The smell of a fog machine located somewhere in the room. They certainly did up the anti a lil bit with that low hanging fog in the room. However decoration wise it was just as impressive as the last one.

Lamps were dimmed to create a better atmosphere and some of the decorations had animations in them this time round. Some activated the moment the first stepped in, causing that very distinct audio chip laughter and the likes. Some of the fake zombie wobbling about in their chair as you could just hear the mechanical parts inside struggle to even get that little wobble. A few fake spiderwebs on the ceiling as well with those tiny fake spiders attached to them.

And on the other side of the room, there once again was a door. Not as cleanly looking as the previous one though. But once again, a golden number on it's front. A large fancy 3 this time round.

"A little more impressive," came the voice of the white pegasus as he glanced around with slight interest, his hooves causing the wood below him to creak ever so slightly, his shadow casting itself across the various mechanics as he walked about to examine the scene before him, "Certainly more advanced. Perhaps the next room will contain real spiders which skitter across the walls." He could feel the cool air from the fog machine huff around his knees, could see the dim light sway gently, illuminating the next room, "A reward for such a large amount of money, and these of the first two challenges? Either no-one has attempted this and we are the first, once we complete this the money is already gone, or the next few rooms are going to really up their ante."

He strolled over with great confidence despite his rugged appearance, taking a single glance towards the jackal and the kitsune as a motion to continue, before placing a hand on the door frame to push it to the next room. He felt a chill. Like something was... off, so to say. The kind of chill which is like bugs crawling down your spine but you don't know why there are bugs there in the first place. "Next room?" he asked the two behind him, voice faltering by a second as he glanced up to stare at the dusty golden '3', and then at the intricate details in the wood. Perhaps delaying himself just a little. Just for a second, before he pushed open the door. Number three.

The door was pushed open with an audible creak as the next room was brought into view, darkness. Pure darkness. Only the floor just inside was visible thanks to the few dimmed lights in room 2. But besides that wooden floor not much else was seen, just that pure darkness ahead. There was no other way to know what was deeper inside that room then to actually step in.

But then again how can darkness be inviting? Mostly this dense of a shadow. It almost was like this was some closed of space completely if one was to judge just by that lack of light. the wood that was visible was a tad darker than the wooden floors before and luckily for them, not creaky at all.

But what was inside? Only one way to find out.

((I will assume KK's character remains in place in the 2nd room. Once he comes back from his hiatus he can pick back up right there INSIDE ROOM 2))

Before walking in, however, the pegasus clicked his fingers uttering a single word: "Lumen" as he flicked his wrist with his fingers exposed. Now, what he expected to happen was that a ball of light would form in his palm, banishing what unnatural darkness lay in wait for them with holy radiance. What he didn't expect was that nothing happened. Not even a spark. "Hmm... Odd," he mumbled to himself. flicking the same wrist outwards and stating a little more loudly, "Radium!" There was not a blast of holy magic from his fingertips as he wished, but simply an old pegasus casting spells which never happened. That was concerning, "Ah, I see what they've done here."

He stepped through, the blanket of darkness hitting him like a brick as he could hardly see in front of his face, and as he continued to move eventually his entire body was engulfed, not even able to be seen from the doorway where the kitsune stood.

He leaned against the wall, not entirely sure how large this room was in comparison to the others since he couldn't even see them, back shuffling against the surface as he tried to make his way around, not sure where he was. He felt contained. Claustrophobic. But it was always wise and recommended to keep a cool head in any situation. If others could not, he would for them. Even if he couldn't see anything. If he closed his eyes, there would be no difference.

Silence before a loud slam as the door with that dusty 3 slammed shut against the Kitsune's face, locking him outside the room for the moment. It would take the kitsune multiple attempts to open the door if he tried and once opened. There was that same darkness, but no pegasus within the unnatural shadows.

-------------

And with just that simple slam of the door, Veavus had been isolated from the other two. The door he had exited from had shut and locked itself. Like some automatic lock. And thus now, there was silence. Dead silence, the unnatural kind. The only sounds within the room were that of his own breathing and heartbeat.

At lest for a second or two as the lights in the ceiling blinked on with a weak light, that clear would give out any moment again. Illuminating the room just enough to reveal it was not the biggest of rooms and in the middle stood a chair and table, the other side of the room holding that trademark door by now, dark wood and a dully looking 4.

Now it was hoped the pegasus had a good memory because within a few secs the lights give out a loud BANG as they broke, leaving the room once again, in deep darkness.
