Beginning of a Journey

Reena clicked her phone off and tucked it away, advancing forward as the line had moved while she was being silly. She noted Wolf's reaction, but decided to pretend otherwise.
"What's the matter?" she asked, tilting her head in mock innocence. The knowing smile remained on her muzzle, though.

"I... uh... just that... hmmm..." Wolf replies, fumbling for words.

He just shakes his head after a few moments.

"Nothing... I suppose." he finishes.

Reena's smile widened. "Did I surpriiiise you?" she asked him playfully.

He looks back at her.

"Well... yes." he replies, "I wasn't expecting something like that."

"Good," the little dog grinned, "It made for a really cute photo, after all."
She stepped forward again as they were nearing the front of the line.

"Ah... So that's what it was for." Wolf replies, "You really like to get pictures."

"Well... that was part of it," Reena smiled mischievously, "Getting it on camera was a nice bonus, too."

Wolf just looks at Reena quizzically in response.

She gave him a pat on the arm.
"Maybe you'll understand girls one day," she suggested.

"Perhaps." he replies, "Maybe I'll just have to understand you instead."

The Klee Kai's head tipped to one side slightly, her smile remaining. There was an amused exhale and she shrugged.
"Well, you can try, but you might have to stick around longer for that one," she pointed out.

"Most likely. But it would probably be easier to understand one person than all of them." he replies.

"Sure, I'll teach you a few things as we go," Reena grinned, "It'll have to wait for next time, though."
She turned her attention in front of her to the attendant, offering a greeting and a pleasant smile as she showed her ticket. When the attendant looked to Wolf, the Klee Kai pointed out he was just seeing her off and the attendant nodded. The process was done quickly and easily and Reena stepped to the side out of the line and the way of others.

She looked back at Wolf, assuming he would follow her. "Welp, that about wraps things up for me!" she said, "I'd better get skedaddlin' before they leave without me." The dog smiled, holding her arms out for a hug again.

Wolf steps aside with Reena.

"Looks like it is the end of it here. Now you're on your way." he replies.

He leans down to hug her.

The small canine gave Wolf a tight squeeze with her arms. "Yup! And I know I keep sayin' it, but take care of yourself, mmkay?" she urged him.

"I always try to. Hopefully events accommodate me." he says in reply, "Don't get stuck in any more trees... or start fights that you can't win in hotels."

Reena giggled a little bit in response to his last comment. "I'll try, but no promises," she said. Her arms finally let go and she stepped back from him. Her paws came to rest on her hips.

"So until next time then, right, Wolf?"

"Yes. Until then." he says, "Take care."

He nods to her and smiles slightly.

Reena smiled and nodded in return. She glanced down, giving her bags a little adjust around her. One more quick smile to the wolf who'd been her temporary travel companion for the last day or so and she stepped past him, allowing herself one more pat on the arm before climbing up into the train.
With other people also moving up to board behind her, there was no opportunity for the Klee Kai to look back as she received direction from an attendant on which way to go to find her cabin. They might have been able to glimpse one another again briefly through the windows, but it was a little harder as Reena had to try and maneuver along without whacking anyone with her bags. Despite this and the concept that it was such a big, wide world, Reena figured it wasn't the last time she would see this wolf named Wolf.

She still needed to get the rest of his name, after all.

Wolf watches as Reena moves past him and boards the train.

*And there she goes... Strange one.* he thinks, *Or maybe it's just cause I'm strange and out of place here...*

He shakes his head briefly, before turning and starting to walk away from the train. He makes his way back through the train station and into the town once more. Taking time to determine what direction he was going to head off in, he then begins walking.

*Guess it's time to see what else life has to show me.* he thinks, as he once again heads off into the unknown.
