August Event Week 3

(Since we're coming up on the end of the month, I'm going to try and get this topic going a little faster than I was handling the topics before this one while still giving everyone the time they need to post.)

Equity jumped off of the stand and waddled through the sand towards the shore, leading the other racers towards the water. He flew up and pointed towards the end of a long line of boulders. "To the end there, then back again!" Equity exclaimed, loud enough for all to hear. "First one back to the shore wins!" He turned around and put his crab-claw hands to his hips, grinning for a good shot from the Canine's camera. Volt followed along, jumping onto the large rock closest to the shore while Flare flew overhead. 

"On our marks... but let's give the nice photographer a good picture first, yeah?" Volt advised, motioning towards Reena so that they would give her the time to get a good picture. They didn't think it would take very long, so Volt crouched down on the rock in a rather relaxed position, watching the racers. 

As everyone gathered at the shore, a few clouds lazily floated by, occasionally blocking out the sun before moving out of the way and revealing the hot rays again. The few that had gathered around the beach continued to stay almost stationary in their place, or perhaps the wind moved them and more had just come to take their place but steadily, the collection of clouds grew and grew over the beach and surrounding area. Perhaps there would still be time for their race, however.

The wolf was doing his best to give the group of racers a wide berth to avoid bumping into them, but the sound of a familiar voice calling out for a photo makes him turn his head towards the source. He spots the back of a canine approaching him.

*Huh... that looks familiar...* he thinks, quickly looking over the canine as she walks backwards towards him.

He, in turn, backs away from her, wanting to let her get the picture she wants without running into him.

Though Luis and Thunder didn't particularly acknowledge her request, Reena started off after Equity towards the shoreline. Probably a better image for a swimming contest would be best by the water, of course. She still just managed to not spot the wolf nearby as she moved away.
The Klee Kai moved over to the side of where it seemed the racers would line up. She smiled broadly and snapped a picture of Equity when he posed for her. Well aware that they were eager to get started and not wanting anyone to have to wait for her, she pointed out, "You guys just do your thing! I about always get my shot!"
She grinned a bit, raising her camera to her face. She would only wait for the racers to all line up and take a couple of pictures as they prepared to start, regardless of whether anyone else posed for her or not. From there, she would then continue taking pictures when she felt it was appropriate after the race had begun.

Hearing that the race was about to begin, Thunder quickly got up and walked over to the shore to begin the race, he got to the starting line and waited for the race to begin

Luis dashed to the race start, he looked down the line of his competition giggling, then focused. He took out both his tails and started to twirl them like whips, striking the ground as he was ready to race. "Let us begin now..." He said as he looked over to the hedgehog known as 'Volt'. Luis did not care about the Klee kai taking pictures of him and just wanted to race so eagerly now, it reminds him of being chased around which hypes up his masochist disorder.

Flare kept a close watch on the clouds and the general condition of the sky, though concluded that they would probably be able to finish the race just in time, before any rain happened, so he looked down at the others as he flew above the water. Volt watched the racers, giving the Photographer below a little bit of time to get a shot or two in. A few moments later, Volt raised his arm. 

"On your marks..." He started, eyeing the racers and making sure they prepared themselves to take off into the water at an optimal speed. 

"...Get set..." He shifted his weight back and forth while crouching, trying to find a comfortable position to keep himself in as he watched the race, though some might deduce that his movement might have been from excitement. 

"Go!" He shouted, bringing his arm down and signalling the start of the race.

The wolf follows the canine out towards the water staying a short distance away from her, and not wanting to interfere in her photo taking. Once she pauses in taking pictures, he finally announces his presence to her.

"So... find anything good here to take pictures of?" he asks her, paying little attention to the race as it kicks off.

Reena took a couple of quick pictures as the race began, stepping to her right to adjust her angle as she went. She had just lowered her camera a bit when someone asked a question from behind her. The canine's ears perked up briefly and she turned to look over her shoulder. At the sight of a certain familiar wolf, her face lit up.
"Oh! Wolf!" she exclaimed.
Before any other gestures or actually giving him opportunity to react, she pointed her camera at him and it clicked in her paws. With her greeting photo done, Reena lowered her camera and gave a couple of short bounces forward to grab the wolf into a hug.

When the race began Thunder immediately started to get in the water, as he swam his fur turned a darker shade of silver as it got wet, his fur also stuck to his skin so he startedto lose resistance against the water speeding him up a bit

Luis dashed into the water with haste as he swing his tail to give him a boost to get a slight head start. Then like two boat engines, he started to twirl his tails with swift flicks of the wrist as the tails are like propellers on each side oh him. His mask, fur and dark clothing are now all covered in sea water, but he doesn't care. He wanted to win and was determined too, though he didn't even know what the prize was, or if there was even a prize. His tails are compared to an overwater swimming position, except the arms are replaced with long tails.

Though small, Equity followed the two racers along, doing his best to keep a good pace. He seemed to be going as fast as he could, though he was the fastest chao on his island- he was probably no match for the two that were working hard to win. 

The waves at first were gentle, but as the racers continued to go farther into the water, the waves would be slightly rougher as if there was a storm brewing. They weren't too bad, not at first, but if this storm was really coming then these seas were about to get pretty rough.

Wolf frowns slightly after Reena snaps a photo of him, but he crouches down slightly to grab hold of her in an embrace a bit closer to her height.

"It's been a while." he says to her, "How are you?"

"Good!" came the simple reply before Reena stepped back from the hug. She was careful to not hit him with her snowcone as she did.
"How cool is it we both end up here, huh?" the canine commented, "How've you been? Still walking all over the place?"
Reena did glance back over towards the race, watching for photo opportunities, though there was less to see with the trio all in the water now.

Continues to swim, not increasing in speed, his head lifted out of the water for him to see the the waves were getting rougher, still determined to win he carried on even more determined than before

Luis was going as fast as he can ignoring the ever so changing waves. His tails were almost invisible to the naked eye as he was spinning them even faster, he laughed as he was getting quite far ahead, but still able to see where he was going.
