Beginning of a Journey

Reena watched and listened to the exchange, looking from the Wolf, up to Shrike, then back again. For now, however, she kept silent. She had to wonder to herself just what was going on with this stranger who'd appeared from the woods. Though perhaps this was just one of those situations where not knowing was the better option.

"Uh huh..." Wolf replies, not entirely convinced but at least willing to accept his reply at face value for the time.

He glances at the canine then.

"Well... I'm going to head into town. I don't know if any of you are going to follow, but I have something to take care of there." he says.

He looks back at the soldier.

"If any of you aren't coming, then I wish you safe travels." he adds.

With that, Wolf turns away from them and begins to walk away.

-Shrike took one look at the Town and knew straight away towns = public and public = authorities So it was a no brainer it was gonna be a no from him.-

" You two can move on and head into town. But for me their is no way I am going any where near public places. So you two best be on your way then."

-Shrike slung his weapon over his shoulder, of course then meant going at it alone but that was something he was use too.-

The Klee Kai also shifted her gaze back towards the town as it was brought up in the conversation. It was getting to be around lunch time and she could certainly go for a snack... And as Shrike held his gun at his shoulder, the decision was pretty much made.
"Yeah, I guess I should go and find me some lunch," she admitted. She turned her gaze back up towards the soldier there with them. "But, y'know, good luck with... well, all that stuff you're dealin' with. It'll get better eventually, I'm sure," she smiled.

Wolf walks away from them and lets out a breath.

*It's probably best that I get away from them. That big guy is trouble... and that's definitely the last thing I need any more of.* he thinks to himself, *I'll just finish off what I need to do here and get moving again. Hopefully before anything else happens here I can be far away.*

After waiting several moments for a response and receiving none, Reena turned back towards the town. With a quick adjustment of her camera bag, she started off after Wolf, moving at a brisk pace to catch up with him.
After all, she still owed him lunch.

Wolf continues walking, but it's not long before he hears a set of footsteps catching up to him from behind. He doesn't glance back though, knowing from the sound of the steps that it would be the canine. The other two they were leaving behind had heavier steps. Even as she draws close he doesn't look back towards her or acknowledge her any other way.

Within a few moments more, she caught up easily enough and the dog began to walk alongside Wolf. Her gaze up on his face, she tipped her head to one side.

"So! What are your plans here in town?" she asked, ever the busybody.

"I want to find a map." he replies, "Figure out where I am, what's around here, and what I'm likely going to come across in the direction I go."

He glances sidelong at her.

"What about you?" he asks.

Reena listened to his response, simply nodding her head slightly. When he asked her a question in return, she simply shrugged her shoulders.

"I'm just passing through," she admitted, "So I'm just doing whatever until I leave either today or tomorrow." Shifting the subject, she added, "You know, I have some maps if you wanna take a look. I don't really use them to get around since I've got a GPS, but there is something nice about goin' oldschool sometimes."

"Oh... well, that would be quite beneficial for me." he says, a bit surprised that she's offering. After a few moments, he then asks out of curiousity, "Are you heading somewhere specific?"

"Yeah, it would," she smiled in response to his reply.
When he asked another question afterward, Reena shook her head. "Not really. Just traveling for funsies. I haven't been through this part of the country before so I figured I'd check it out," she replied.

"I see." he replies.

He looks away from her and focuses back on the structures of the town they are approaching. It looks like it's a fair size to him, containing perhaps over a thousand people. The buildings aren't very tall and are spaced out a fair amount.

Reena walked along with Wolf for almost a minute more. As usual, she couldn't keep quiet for long, though...
"Are you still going to insist on not letting me buy you lunch?" she finally asked, looking up at him again.

He looks back towards her.

"Are you going to ask me again later if I say yes now?" he asks.

"Of course!" Reena grinned mischievously at him.
She straightened up a bit and pushed her paws into the front pockets of her jeans.
"By now you should be learning that I'm very stubborn when I wanna repay a favor."

"A favour?" Wolf repeats, glancing over at her curiously, "I don't recall you needing to repay me for anything. I haven't really done anything for you."

"Well, you saved me the embarrassment of having to call the fire department on myself," she reminded him, "That slip your mind already?"

"I don't know if that's anything you should make you feel like you have to repay me for." he replies, "I'm sure you could have made it down on your own."

"Pffft, yeah, and landed on my camera or my ass," Reena said, laughing briefly at the thought.
She shook her head a bit afterward. "Nah, besides. I hate eating alone." The Klee Kai grinned as she reached over and nudged his arm. "You're not secretly shy about a girl paying for your meal, are you?" she teased.

He glances away from her and lets out a breath.

"No, it's okay." he replies, "I guess I can go with you to get something to eat."

He looks back at her.

"I suppose you know your way around, so I'll follow your lead to wherever it is that you'd like to eat." he says.

"Just make sure you drag your feet and sigh a lot so everyone who sees us knows that you're not coming with me because you want to," she teased some more.
The canine picked up the pace at which she was walking. "But I might know a place," she continued, "What do you usually like to eat?"

Wolf nods slightly to the canine.

"I'm sure I can accommodate you." he replies to her, nearly deadpan in expression, "As for what I usually eat, it's mostly meats. I'm not against eating fruits and such either though."

"Alrighty, I think I saw a place we could try, then."
Reena took a couple of moments to look around at the area they were entering, trying to recall which way to go to reach her goal. It didn't take too long before she started walking with purpose again.
"Should be over this way," she said.

"Alright then. Sounds good." Wolf replies.

He looks around the town as they walk.

"So... what do you think of this place?" he asks the canine.
