Beginning of a Journey

"Oh gosh, I'm not blind," Reena pointed out, setting her paws on her hips, "I won't be sticking my head out unless I'm sure there's nothing close to the tracks."

"And how will you know that until you stick your head out there to look?" Wolf asks.

"I won't stick it out that far!" Reena said, "Or I could use my phone to peek outside."

"I don't know." he says, I'm not sure either of those is a good idea either."

He reaches up with one paw to redo the latch on the window.

"Woooolf," Reena protested, "Where's your sense of fun? Do you have any better ideas of what to do?"

"Well... maybe you could ask one of the staff here, if there is a place here with a better vantage point." he suggests.

"Nah, I don't wanna bother them." Reena shook her head. "C'mon, we can at least get some outside air in here," she insisted.

"And you're not gonna try and stick any limbs out there?" he asks.

"Nnnnnooooo," Reena replied, glancing back at the window. "Unless I'm sure it's safe!" she added quickly after.

Wolf narrows his eyes slightly as he looks at Reena.

"I'll agree to open the window, if you stay on this side of it." he says.

"Can I just poke the top of my phone out to take a picture of the train?" the Klee Kai asked.

"Don't complain if you lose it." Wolf says.

He moves away from the window and sits back down.

Reena grinned. "Like you can stop me from complaining if I do?" she asked as she stepped back over in front of the window. The canine reached up and unlatched it again, then resumed pulling up on the window to open it.

"I probably could... but it would likely be uncomfortable." Wolf replies.

"Bah, you wouldn't," Reena replied. She paused as she strained a bit against the window. "And... I'd drool on you... too!"
The window finally came open rather suddenly and Reena let out a breath and lowered her paws from it after.
"Phew! That thing was really shut!" she commented.

Wolf watches as the window opens and the roar of the wind fills the cabin.

"It's probably because they don't want people opening them." he replies over the sound.

"They'll get over it!" Reena shrugged. She whipped out her phone and turned to peer towards the front of the train through the window. Of course, she didn't yet go and stick her head outside, but she did turn on her camera. After a few moments of looking outside, she inched the top of the phone, where the camera was, out the window and, holding it steady against the wind, snapped a picture of the rest of the train and landscape ahead of them. Her phone was promptly withdrawn back into the train for her to look at the photo she'd taken.

Wolf sits back in his seat, his ears flattening out from the noise, while Reena gets her picture and checks it.

Satisfied with her photo, Reena looked over at Wolf. She noted his reaction to the sound and smiled. "I guess it is louder than expected, isn't it?" she admitted, tucking her phone away again.

"Just a little." Wolf replies, "The wind is moving by pretty fast. You sure you want to stick anything out into that?"

"Nah, I guess not," Reena said, "A bug hitting my face would probably hurt." She reached up and got a hold of the window to pull it shut again.
"Little too much for me!"

"Maybe if it slows down you could try then." Wolf says.

"Yeah, we'll see," Reena agreed once the window was shut. She re-did the latch again. Her ears perked up promptly afterward.
"Ooh, I wonder if we'll go through a tunnel! That could be cool," she added.

"I guess we'll have to wait and see." Wolf replies.

He lets out a breath and glances out the window.

"Yup."
Reena turned away from the window and stepped back over to the bench. She sat down and leaned back in her seat, setting her gaze out the window as well.
