Path of Red (Event week 2+3) Empty Path of Red (Event week 2+3)

Green was the parchment that held this clue. It's paper stained red by dried up blood that had stained the paper as it released a foul odor. The ink surprisingly clear to read, like it had been writing on post staining.

Protected by the side of a mountain with water streaming down it's base and into the reflective pool cut off from other water bodies. Red it stained as the bleeding body was tossed into it. Slipping away into the dark abyss below. As life drained the wielder saw shimmers from below and made his way to it. It was here beneath the shine and sparkle that he found his resting place together with what had caused him such harm.

Somehow she'd made it back to the public notice board with the parchment still in her possession. She wasn't sure if anyone had followed her or not but there she was. Still she hadn't a clue on what the hint could be about. There weren't any mountains nearby that she knew of... so maybe it mean a large building. There had to be water nearby and...blood?. Oh dear heavens above why ever did she have to grab the more morbid of the parchment pieces.

She nervously tucked it back into her pocket, clasping her arms about herself to keep herself from shivering. She wasn't cold but somehow the parchment and the ordeal at the fountain had left her chilled.

She just wished Terrant and Mikki would hurry up and get here. She felt rather vurnable on her own. What if someone had followed her and tried to take the parchment? How would she explain that to her two companions.. or sharing the information with anyone really...they wouldn't like that either.. this way they had a head start...right?

Except she was followed unknown to her.

The bat crept closer and closer to the tree she was tucked behind.  She had the parchment he wanted and from the looks up it, she wasn't going to surrender to him doing it the polite way.  It was in her pocket now and would have to take her down to get it.  Once he was in reach of her, just a few feet away, he grinned as he flexed his hand almost into a pose that look like as if he was holding a sphere or something.  He was infact not holding anything if someone was to stumble in on them.

What he was in fact doing was gripping on the poor snow leopard lifeforce... her soul.  She could feel like a heavy weight tugging what felt like her heart when it fact he was not harming any of her internal organs.  He smirked as he knew he had a good grip and walked over towards her, still holding the pose of his hand. "Now then..." he voice dripping with a bit of malice, "Your going to give me the parchment dear so I can read it and be off on my way.  I won't harm you if you cooperate, but if you don't, I'm sure that soul of yours can take a beating or two." he added, making sure it was clear he had a grip on her soul.

She could note his face was full of focus, like it was taking a lot for him to keep that grip on her lifeforce.

With the crowd having dispersed to the muttered locations, with groups forming to take on this quest to solve this unusual puzzle, there wasn't much to be left in the park bar a few stragglers here and there to poke around and find something new, yet alas they did not. Though the two of interest right now were the snow leopard and the bat, and one of which was holding a parchment that would lead her to the mysterious goal.

The papers did occasionally rustle with the cold, chilling breeze every now and again, and some leaves did come loose from the tree, up, up and away to fly away into the air. As the multitude of papers wavered, there seemed to be a glance of one different than the rest. Very briefly before remaining hidden by the other stacks, there seemed to be a... map of sorts. How peculiar.

That was, if they were keeping tabs on the board, but it looked like the leopard had something much worse to deal with at this current moment in time.

She produced a small gasp when she felt a weight tug at her heart, her hand flying to her chest immidiately as she grimaced. Her blue eyes wide in surprise and shock, quickly turning to fear as the bat approached. She knew enough about these kinds of powers to know that the bat could probably do something very nasty to her. She'd only seen this kind of power once before.. and that was when Mikki's father had attempted to kill on of their attackers.

So she stood frozen as the bat approached and confirmed her suspicions. Her fingers moved nervously and her tail lashed. If she made a scene he'd probably kill her outright and blame it on a heart attack... no one would be able to prove different. But if she gave him the parchment... Mikki and Terrant would be dissapointed...

The bat look like he was concentrating hard though, maybe if she could temporarily throw his concentration...? She twitched her fingers, her expression turning determined. And that was all the warning Cyril got before large jagged peeks of ice errupted from below and around him, forming a cage and errupting quite close enough to force him to move, lest he be clipped by them. She wasn't really trying to actively harm him though.

She didn't wait to see if it worked, she'd know soon enough if he tugged on her life force. She took off at a run, hurrying for the notice board and trying to put herself into the crowd so the bat would have a harder time attacking her unoticed.

While the fiendish bat was ensnared within the branches of ice summoned by the winter leopard, a sight many did turn their heads towards in curiosity and alarm, the wind seemed to pick up slightly. Soft at first, and then a sudden gust, like the gods had sneezed, and the papers on the board billowed out, some literally tearing from their place.

And the map in question flew right into the leopard's face, while some of the straggling papers in the wind rattled against the icy bars of the ice prison.

She seemed to have shaken off the bat for now at least as she stood at the board, panting lightly, her eyes darting about for any sign of her friends or that bat. Seeing neither she was about to turn to head into the direction of the square to meet up with Terrant and Mikki, when a firm gust of wind suddenly buffeted her and something hit her face.

She yelped, flailing a little at the unexpected lights out. But she realised soon enough it was just something that had been tacked to the board, blown off by the sudden gust of wind.Though after what had happened only moments ago, could you blame her for being a litte jumpy?

She pried the map from her face and blinked at it. Someone had tacked a map to the board? That was odd.. She narrowed her eyes at it, having a look at what it was about, though her ears were twitching constantly now and she looked wire tight and ready to bolt once more

Path of Red (Event week 2+3) Empty Re: Path of Red (Event week 2+3)

The old map seemed to be before Station Square was rebuilt anew, especially from the shapes of the structures where old buildings once stood. There were various scribbles on it, with meaningless circles around buildings and dotted notes of where and when construction plans were to be performed. Well, considering the sight of the map it seemed what work was to be done was already done. Heaven's knows why it was plastered to the board, but it had certainly been there for a long while.

The point of note from this piece of rogue paper was the outskirts of the city. There was the forest, left untouched as to be expected, and various paths leading to different locations that were set to have roads built for them in the future. But that wasn't important. What was were the mountains a little far from the city, a average-sized lake pooling from the small river flowing between the cracks of rock. But if she were to look in that direction, there was no mountain. In fact if she knew this area well, it would lead to a hilly expanse of land, though that lake remained, almost shielded by the raised land around it.

And it was probably best to get going and arrive at this lake as soon as possible  and not go anywhere else because there seemed to be this feeling that there was only a week left to finish this section of the event... whatever that means.

Post by lady-tragedy Tue Dec 16, 2014 11:15 am

She blinked at the map, tilting her head this way and that as she studied it. Reading maps had never been one of her strong points, but she suposed that with a little imagination it resembled station square. More over, this map had a lake on it and mountains. But there weren't any around that she knew off. The lake though... well she suposed it could be that.

Still a trickle of unease was going through her fur. She had already found it quite odd that the man had gotten no further then the first riddle while almost everyone had immidiately realised it had to be a fountain. She doubted someone who had dedicated their life to finding what ever weapon this was suposed to be had not been able to come up with it.

This whole thing had been fishy from the start and now suddenly out of nowhere something she needed to find the place the red parchment spoke off had just blown right into her face? It just pegged her 'somethings going on here' meter like no tomorrow. She seriously considered giving up on this whole quest before it bit her in the ass... not that it hadn't already done so with that close call with the bat.

Still, if she didn't set out now others might start to return from following the clues on the other parchment and react much the same as that bat had. She didn't want to fight to keep her fur intact. So prank or not, trap or not, there was no other option then to press on. And press on she did, her steps quick as she left the busy streets of the city to head for the hills and the lake that lay sheltered within these hills.

It didn't take her awfully long, for despite her slightly pudgy appearance she was quite good at hiking and walking long distances. The lake was pretty quiet right now, with it being winter and no one really caring for a swim. But if she followed the clue on the parchment she might have to go into the freezing water anyway.

" light reflecting....dark abyss...." she muttered as she scanned the water." Maybe were the sun hits the water...?". She flattened her ears a little."The things I do for friends...".

Well, her suspicions were correct at least, in terms of what she had to do. To dive into the freezing watery depths below - who knew how deep it was? Who knew what would await? But the time ticked on by, and no doubt the others were starting to reach their conclusions as well as the lonesome leopard. It was brave, really. To take on such a challenge without allies. Now it was a matter of how long she would be able to hold her breath.

But if she were to dive in to obtain the treasure she was seeking, there would be little to find at first. The lake was deep, deep enough to touch the bottom and then struggle for breath a second later. But there was, as stated, a bottom to this abyss. And there wasn't any life either. No fish, no plants, just water.

Speaking of, probably the most important thing to note, sunk to the bottom and partially covered by stones and rocks, was a mobian skeleton.

She lowered her ears a little, clasping her arms about herself nervously " Maybe I could freeze it all over...?"she muttered. Though that would probably sap a lot of her energy and if it didn't work she'd still have to swim for it. She wasn't afraid of water though, she enjoyed surfing in the summer and was an excellent swimmer. However she didn't know how deep the lake was...

Well she could atleast freeze a path to the center of the lake where the sun hit the water and that is what she did. It conserved atleast the energy of having to swim all the way, no to mention stall possible hypothermia. She was a bleeding idiot for even attempting this but really...it might be a while before mikki and terrant caught up and she didn't want to get assaulted again.

She crouched and stared at the water, before looking at her hands, a plan starting to form, though she had no idea if it would work. It was a good thing she had usualy used her powers for recreational purposes and while nowhere near as offensively powerful as most ice users she had a lot of control in creating very detailed small sculptures.

Not that what she was making was paticularly difficult but the size needed to be right or she might dig into her own skin. taking a deep breath she started moving her hands like a potter behind a pottery wheel, where her hands went a thin film of ice formed, until something not unlike a fishbowl formed. She placed it over her head and adjusted the opening around her neck to become air tight.

The amount of air trapped in her ice bubble wouldn't last paticularly long, but allow her more time then when she'd just be holding her breath. She quelled the instinct to take a deep breath before diving in, kicking her legs and driving herself down into the depths.

The fact that there seemed to be no life in this lake didn't go unoticed by her and it gave her an uneasy feeling as she went deeper, taking steady shallow breathes, knowing holding it and then gulping in air again would only make her oxygen supply run out faster and tire her out more. The water felt like knives, even with her natural tolerance to cold, but she welcomed the sensation, she'd be worried if her limbs where going numb

She reached the bottom after what felt like minutes but it probably was less then a minute and she nearly backpeddled when her hand touched something that could only be bone, stifling a yelp. Well the parchment had said something about dead people and such. But she doubted she was here to retrieve a skelleton... she hoped...

This was just too creepy.

Certainly not here to collect the remains of a mobian long gone, but rather what was hidden by the murky sand-like ground that was covering the deceased like a sad excuse for a blanket, up and over the ribs, the ankles and wrists to further anchor down the skeleton in that slouched-like pose.

Somewhat obscured from the darkness within the lake, lodged within the ribcage where the heart would be, was a glimmer of blue. In fact it seemed to give off an incredibly faint light, a mystical and almost ethereal glow to what was hidden beneath those bones. And what it was was nothing but the object in question the leopard was searching for.

A blade, an absolutely wonderfully crafted blade. The blade of a sword. Blue and crystalline, sharp and deadly yet beautiful and whimsical. From the looks of it, and certainly from the size (the length of an arm no doubt), it could sell for an obscene amount. For such a majestic weapon part to be lodged within a dark and dank place, it left a lot of questions to go unanswered.

Either way, the mysterious and vague item she was sent to retrieve was before her. But in such a frigid atmosphere, where it had been left for years upon years in these icy and empty waters, touching the blade with bare skin would cause severe frostbite-like damage. But if she were to take it, through whatever means she thought necessary, all she'd need to do was return back to the others. The final stretch to the eventual conclusion was at hand.

Path of Red (Event week 2+3) Empty Re: Path of Red (Event week 2+3)

Post by lady-tragedy Mon Dec 22, 2014 6:50 pm

There was a blade stuck in the chest cavity, beautifully crafted, but it was missing the guard that would complete it as a sword. So the weapon was a sword? if so this was most likely the most important piece. She scrunched up her face a little as she realised she'd have to reach into the chest cavity though. But what ever she did, she aught to do it quickly as her air supply wasn't endless and she'd probably start feeling short on oxygen soon.

She started to reach, then paused again. The blade had been in the water for a long time and it was absolutely frigid. Even with her natural tolerance for extreme cold granted by her species as well as her cryokinesis this might not be the best thing to touch with bare hands. She licked her lips, slowly moving her fingers and manipulating the water to form gauntles of ice. Yes she was using ice to prevent frostbite, totally legit, now hush.

She reached into the cavity and grabbed the blade as firmly as she dared, not wanting to find out it was sharp enough to cut through ice by losing half a hand. She started kicking her legs and started back for the surface, shattering the bowl around her head the moment she broke the surface of the water, taking a gasping breath of air.

She put the blade on the ice she'd created earlier and hoisted herself out of the water, teeth chattering and soaked to the bone. Just because she had a good resistance to cold did not mean that she could not get cold and she was chilled to the bone. Being dipped in icewater and the temperature being low to begin with.

She picked up the blade again, stomping her feet a little before heading back to the city, muttering under her breath" gotta keep moving, gotta stay warm.".

Though how she was going to get the blade to the park without it getting taken from her was another mystery she'd have to solve.
