Board Games (Pt. 3)

"Next time, I'll try doing that instead."

Lillith heard the noises if the storm. "Man that storm sounds bad. Wonder if that little girl is alright." "Omg the girl!!"

The boy closed the door of the airship tight, effectively locking them in, with him staying behind.

Liela tried to open the door but it was locked."Hey!!! If you think that door can keep me in here you have another thing coming!!!" Liela ran to the door and attempted to phase through.

She couldn't.

The ceiling opened up and the airship flew upwards.

Liela hit the door hard and a loud bang was heard. "WH-WHAT?!? " Liela said before grabbing her head. She really hit it hard.

The ship left the workshop and while at first, it looked like it was leaving, it quickly changed its path to head straight into the eye of the storm.

Lillith noticed the change of direction. "Why is he going back?" "He's doing what?!?" Liela stopped holding her head and bang the door. "YOU SAID YOU WERE GOING TO FLY AWAY FROM THE STORM NOT GO TO ITS CENTER!!!"

The airship started coming apart from just going near the vortex. "W-we can't die here, right? It'll just take us back to the tavern." Ayah hoped she was right.

"Maybe....maybe not.... This is all just an impossibility!!!" Liela said before summoning her beams and throwing them at the door.

[Crimson Skies]

The doors didn't budge. 

When they reached the vortex, it poked a hole in the ship's ballon and made it spin uncontrollably.

Then came a loud crash and deafening silence.

Much to her dismay, Liela didn't wake up back at the tavern, but in the crashed airship, surrounded by her wounded friends and a cracked bottle where Lillith had resided.

But they were not alone – someone was already at the crash site, scavenging for supplies, including what little her unconscious friends had with them.

Liela slowly woke. She jolted up and gasped. "GUYS THE DOOR WONT......open?" Liela looked around and saw Ivona and Ayah on the floor being scavenged. Liela was about to ssy something but then she looked at the cracked bottle. "Lillith... oh no.. Lillith are you there?"

[Crimson Skies]

The scavenger looked at her and all of them, including Lillith, were back the tavern, fully healed.

The shapeshifter was nowhere to be seen, to say of nothing of the missing shopkeeper or even the bartender.

Lirla saw Lillith and gave her the biggest hug. "Aww man I thought you were gone!!!! " Liela then looked around the tavern. She was absolutely creeped out now. "Guys where's the Shapeshifter?"

[Crimson Skies]

A portal appeared and all three of the missing residents stepped out of it.

[Dogy9978]

Liela looked at them. "I need an explanation now!!!! What just happened? We crashed and instead of being transported to the tavern, I woke up in the crash site with everyone else died!!! "

"I believe Aubrey's disease has spread to the tavern and the book," the shapeshifter said. "You weren't transported immediately because I had to cleanse the book and destroy the previous tavern."

"Aubrey didn't have a disease. He's immune them."

[Crimson Skies]

"Immunity doesn't mean he doesn't spread it. It's entirely possible its merely dormant."

[Dogy9978]

"I'm pretty sure it wasn't his intention. But is Aubrey juat not allowed to come here anymore?"

[Crimson Skies]

"I've placed a charm on the previous tavern to prevent him from intruding, or at least, make it extremely difficult."

[Dogy9978]

"You know aubrey is not going to like that. "

[Crimson Skies]

"Everything I do, I do for the safety of you all."

Right after he said that, Aubrey arrived on the scene.

[Dogy9978]

"Hey Aubrey!" Liela then turned back to the Shapeshifter. "What are you going to do now?"

[Crimson Skies]

"Give him the death glare until he leaves."

Aubrey had a look around. "My deductions were right," he said. "The newer editions really did trade away security for simplicity. What happened to you was not an infection, it was a simple glitch that caused a domino effect. The book accidentally interpreted a few functions from a harder difficulty and all hell broke loose."
